Mrs M should not be able to contact you in this way. You could have contacted brands using your email, facebook messenger, online comments / complaint form linked to their site or via Instagram.

The fact RM has specifically mentioned your instagram identities suggests that a company or companies has either forwarded your messages or identified the source to her or her management Whalar - neither of which is an option under GDPR.

I linked a Which article in an earlier posting which outlines the procedure and to contact the companies / IOC to formally complain. It is imperative that the IOC are formally notified by all the people who got the golden ticket ....sorry, message from RM as I am sure if they have the evidence of her contacting several people identifying them through data received from several small companies then this becomes a much bigger case with possible much more serious consequences.
Should I be making a complaint or reporting a breech?

I won’t let her get away with this so don’t worry. I said before if I receive anything from her then she better be prepared. I’m not silenced by her threats of police.
Stupid cow

Which advise in article

"But it's also a personal data breach when companies send your personal data to someone else without your consent, or when your data is altered without your permission."

So when the data has been shared it would be counted as a breach. A complaint can be made that by using the threat of potentially using lawyers and / or police it has caused you distress and as such you with to pursue compensation.

If in any doubt, would contact ICO and see if it qualifies as both a breech and also you wish to complain about it !!

Greeting you’ve got £1.50 to your name then less than 24 hours later your kids have trainers for £50 a pop.

so relatable. so genuine. 4 weeks to Christmas, folk are terrified about how they will buy their kids Christmas presents or be able to heat their homes, choosing between eating and heating.

actually don’t know how she shuts her eyes and sleeps at night.

Regarding all these messages.. I wonder if she’s found folk on Facebook via Instagram or whatever and she’s sending out these threats claiming to know they made complaints to brands about her. I wonder if she’s trying to bait people? It’s a pretty dangerous game to play as if I was a brand I wouldn’t want to be associated with someone who claimed to obtain personal and confidential information.

what I’m saying is she’s talking shite she got any information from brands and basically trying to put the willies up people.

. I don’t believe email addresses are on show so the brand would have had to have forwarded an email on to her or the message. Be interesting to know if all contacted were blocked by her on Instagram.

Important. Re making a complaint to the ICO

For the ICO to open a complaint you MUST first make a Subject Access Request to each company you suspect of breaching data protection.
This is exactly what the ICO will tell you to do.

All you need to do is send a brief email to the company under the heading of SAR or subject access request. Something like, 'It has come to my attention that you may have shared my details following my initial complaint about the influencer........ (Meldrum, MOD, whoever) Please refer this to the relevant department to complete a SAR. You have 30 days to comply before I refer this matter back to the ICO.

You must do that step FIRST. The ICO will not help you until you do this. The companies shouldn't charge you. I'm in the middle of accessing all data that has been shared to another influencer so this is close to home for me.
This needs to be expose properly which I'm hoping to do when I have all the info as this is industry-wide problem.

Always been a lurker but never commented.
I’ve been wondering though, it seems to only be small businesses that have given her information. I’m assuming you don’t have to be fully clued up on GDPR to start a business? I’m thinking these companies haven’t bothered to actually properly read up on GDPR and are thinking that as these people aren’t customers then it’s not a GDPR breach 🤷🏻‍♀️, maybe beggy has been sprouting some tit to companies about people making complaints about her in the hope that they will then give her the information?

She seems close to mentioning my kids and where I live. The message feels like this kind of vibe if you get what I mean? But she is playing with the wrong people on here.

Thank you all for your help and replies on here.. I will be taking this further. And especially to her “management”

I was in a meeting this morning with some friends concerning voluntary and charitable organisations we are all involved with and the added stress that Christmas brings.
In an earlier post I had mentioned Adam Kay's observation how the combination of "wonderful christmas' songs, instagram exaggerators and John Lewis type advertisements - none of which are 'real life', is enough to tip many over the edge at Christmas.

One of our group has recently had a close family bereavement and had been talking to a local funeral director who is taking a break this week, as they cannot take a break between the 22nd December and the end of January as it is their busiest time. You would assume it was from the elderly succumbing to winter bugs or the result of falling on icy pavements but although they do experience an increase in elderly deaths, the greatest increase in demand at this time is death by suicide, the pressures of the festive season, emotionally & financially is often the last straw.

Her posts today have hit a very raw nerve for me following that meeting.

All the mumbo jumbo about her 'mental load' and 'spinning plates a little slower'. When as a mother has she had to make the decision to go without food for a few days so what little food in the house goes to the children ? The two pairs of trainers which are just a 'kindly gifted' add on, less than a month before Christmas rubbed in the faces of those who are hoping that perhaps one of the charities will have their child(ren) on a list to get a Christmas Eve box, or one Christmas present or invited to a community party just before Christmas which will mean that at least they have had one festive meal this season - albeit not on Christmas Day and in the company of other vulnerable children and not in their family home.

Earlier this year an Australian Press outlet described how influencers "document their lives on Instagram — which can be a haven for over-exaggerators and the wannabe rich and famous" Anyone sound familiar.

@Zoewilliams9217 please don’t take this the wrong way but I’m quite glad you got a message.....I know you won’t let this go and hopefully the queen of scraping through will face a consequence for her latest stunt!

@G&TGal your posts are always so well written but that was an emotional one. People going without food just to feed their kids never mind Christmas.....don’t know how she (and others) sleep at night 😢
I follow small mum accounts and even they give away gifts because they feel their children don’t need it all or just feel guilty to accept so much.

Your message is really worrying is this w wide spread problem not just meldrum bit all complaints about influencers to brands are shared with the unfoeunecr them selves.
Could it be brands share to whalar who stupidly share with her?

Have those who've received this bullshit from Grabby said on here they had made complaints to companies?

Wondering if she's lying about getting details from companies and instead found people from Tattle. Of course she wouldn't admit to looking on here so would have to lie about how she found people.
Just wondering.

She really is a bad parent, going to London and ignoring responsibilities such as childrens appointments is selfish and lazy. As a working parent it's hard enough missing school activities and other appointments when it's unavoidable and impossible to get away from work. Why would any mum choose to miss them by going away, this is her hoppy not her job so this was a CHOICE!

What a way to let everyone, including your childen know they are not your priority in any way, they are merely money making inconveniences.

I'm not into mum shaming for their parenting choices but she should be ashamed!

I haven 10 pages of comments to catch up on (and need to go and be a mum so I’ll have to read later)

Apologies if I am repeating but mental overload?!! She’s actually taking the piss. Rebs I have just come in from a 12 hour day. Working. And now I am sorting my kids and doing all the jobs you share as your daily challenges. Wise the heck up!

I can’t decide whether to rage or laugh. You don’t know what a proper days work is. Even when you are “solo parenting” you have umpteen adults on standby ( maybe they know you are tit at it).
Mental bloody overload you are having a laugh!

Regarding the direct messages, a possibility is that once she is notified by a brand that they have received a complaint , she may tell them that she is being “ harassed” etc and the matter is with the police and she may say she needs the details of the complainant to pass to the police etc.
I’ve noted that in one of the messages she states that the accusations are causing her “distress”, she is most definitely attempting to suggest that a criminal offence is occurring against her which is not correct. As a single message from one person is not a “ course of conduct” to constitute harassment.
In any event , I don’t believe for a second that police are involved in any way, for a start they would have advised her to not make direct contact with anyone but to just pass details to the Police. Legally, anyone has a right to contact a brand and communicate their dissatisfaction. A professional brand will respond to the complaint but would never pass on details to the influencer. Rebecca clearly wants the complaints to brands to stop as it affects her income and she is now trying to be more direct and personal to intimidate people.
I hope anyone who has received a message from her, makes a formal complaint using the appropriate method. You have done nothing wrong.

Correct. I’ve always said I have not hidden my identity at all but does this mean she can contact me in this way?? If I’m posting on tattle and linking brands with the racism article online?
There must be loads of Zoe Williams on FB though, so how did she know which one was you? Some serious digging she is doing here just to contact people. Damn.

Frozen 2 trainers, when she hasn’t even taken the kids to see the film yet, only takes them when it’s gifted tickets! But plenty of money to go galavanting round London with Cath.

So the begging half worked for those louping trainers. Very babyish for a 8 year old!
Hopefully she'll donate those kindly gifted trainers to her Charity for under privileged people since she's just bought the girls new shoes

The wording certainly sounds ominous. Is she laying the groundwork to pursue a harassment suit?
