The World Health Organisation has declared the mpox outbreak a global health emergency, with an infectious diseases expert telling Sky News it is "very likely" someone in the UK already has the new variant of the viral disease.
While this whole thing makes me feel quite anxious, these two paragraphs suggest to me that it is unlikely that it would be spread here unless through specific sexual behaviours which is reassuring with a boring sex life (young kids, no time

Is this the next pandemic they predicted would happen? The way it's spread seems like it shouldn't be a huge cause for concern though. Hoping so anyway...
The previous cdc director before Walensky ,predicted it would be bird flu.
Sure I heard a news article say it's spread by gay sex. If this is true then why isn't this being made clear? Or is it? I don't seek news so not sure how it's being reported on.

It didn’t say how they acquired it only that it seems to be spreading amongst children that’s why it was concerning.Seems it’s airborne like COVID.

Of course kids can spread it too as they have a lot of physical contact, like they are prone to so many illnesses.This is the second outbreak since covid, it was doing the rounds in 2022.
As I said, I rarely hear, read or see any news and the one time I did hear about this was when a radio presenter or a studio guest or whomever clearly said it was spreading through gay sex. I never said it was a gay disease. I also never said it was the only way it was spread.It's spread by very close contact.
