Not wanting to turn this into a conspiracy thread but my spidey senses are tingling, first hepatitis in children in mainly western countries, now monkeypox in mainly western countries? also a lot of NATO countries and allies of the USA? suspiciousThe conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Putin let it out as its only in the Western countries so far haha
Seriously though from everything I've seen and read so far there doesn't seem to be too much to worry about at this stage. The media are loving it though, they got a taste of constant crisis since brexit and don't want to let it go.
As someone else said, we all seem perfectly comfortable with awfully high numbers of things like heart disease, cancer, obesity etc. But something like this causes panic stations
Yea and even those who do get it it’s a mild illness. If only the media would stop the fear mongering agenda. They get a thrill out of it though don’t they! Soon they’ll be encouraging everyone to get the vaccine! Watch this spaceYou need to have very close contact with someone to get it, so the risk is pretty low.
The virgins will inherit the Earth. You can catch it from touch, bodily fluids and breath it’s not only sexually transmitted .
They think it may have been spread by people travelling from Pride festivals in Spain and sex saunas

The Covid vaccines did some serious damage, to be fair. How could a vaccine be worse than the disease?
it’s not an STI - it’s shown to be spreading about the gay male population for some reason but researchers are hesitant to specify it as an stiJoe’s concerned
It’s being passed exactly like that ,but it’s airborne aswell so anyone can catch it if they’re near an infected person, it’s also a 12 day incubation period before symptoms show so people can be infectious without knowing it.
My honest opinion is it’s probably fear of offending or not being politically correct. Anything related to gender or sex is so controversial in this day and age where cancel culture is a thing anyone who says anything that one single person may be offended at is at risk of being ridiculed even if it is scientifically factual. This is where it gets dangerous though because it they aren’t putting out all the facts then it risks all those who are at more risk from accessing the right info and means they aren’t taking cautions they might otherwise had they been informed.Exactly
I do wonder if the history with AIDS/HIV (plus I guess the attitudes some people hold?) has made them pause a bit and wait for more data![]()
Imagine all the blokes calling work claiming they need to isolate for monkey pox close contact. It won't be forgotten if people can get 3 weeks off work for it. Isolations all over the place.
It’s almost like only certain types of illness are allowed and accepted by the government. Cancer, heart disease, mental health related deaths, flu etc all just accepted prior to covid with barely a batted eyelid. Campaigns here and there but nothing like covid or now MonkeyPox it’s rammed down our throats like the world is ending constantly. Some winters my whole office would be taken down with viruses that spread amongst us, to the point some had been in bed for days. No one freaked out about that & wrote stories in the Daily Mail “whole office ill mystery virus that spread within days!!!” …my boss actually expected us to come in and work through it.So why the big hoo ha Why can't people just be I'll anymore
