More than 15,000 mpox cases and 461 deaths have been reported on the continent this year so far - a 160% increase in cases compared with the same period in 2023, while deaths have jumped by around 19%.

My anxiety and overthinking cannot cope with something like this again. Probably a stupid question but realistically how much do I need to panic?? 
The vaccine is petty dangerous so only given as a last resort.
How is the vaccine dangerous?
Maybe they’ve tweaked it since? But the older smallpox vaccines were very dangerous, even modern ones aren’t suitable for people with a range of health conditions.

With 461 deaths from the 15k cases. = 3% of those who caught it died.
97% recovered.
Did each person who passed away have underlying health conditions? Did they die from or with it?

Preparations include making sure rapid testing will be available. A global emergency has been declared, with one expert stating there are reports of cases in 16 countries in Africa.
The Covid vaccines did some serious damage, to be fair.
It has popped up but doesn't seem to be quite all over the news yet.
