So are they saying it is a storm in a tea cup?
No problem this side of the Atlantic, we're years ahead of the US. Particularly in the UK there is the appropriately named HAIRS group to cover infections via our furry friends.Looks like we'll need it going by the rate of spread![]()
Chickenpox, CMV (cold sore virus) and slapped cheek syndrome can cause stillbirth I’m not sure how much more severe you can get!Still not as severe as Monkeypox, we know how severe German Measles is in pregnancy so we take action to try and eliminate the risk.
They could do popping toys in the shape of the monkeypoxUntil they were replaced by those popping toys.
It’s not as transmissible as covid as it’s a very slow moving infection ,but there is risk ! Especially to pregnant women, children and other vulnerable groups ,the faster they contain it the better.Smallpox for thousands of years in all likelihood, absolutely decimated human populations across the world. If it didn’t kill you it would blind you, or leave you horrifically scarred or maimed.
The smallpox vaccine is one of those things I think about every so often and feel in awe that we’ve managed to create it
i didn’t think they were classifying it as airbourne because close contact was needed but maybe I misread!
Until they were replaced by those popping toys.So like any other craze, should be over in a month or two.
How long did those fidgety spinny things last?
I know it’s not an STI anything carried on the breath is classed as airborne as a sneeze or cough can be contagious.it’s not an STI - it’s shown to be spreading about the gay male population for some reason but researchers are hesitant to specify it as an sti
its also not airbourne
“Human-to-human transmission is thought to occur primarily through large respiratory droplets. Respiratory droplets generally cannot travel more than a few feet, so prolonged face-to-face contact is required. Other human-to-human methods of transmission include direct contact with body fluids or lesion material, and indirect contact with lesion material, such as through contaminated clothing or linens.” (Taken from CDC website)
i swear news outlets are devastated covid is on the wane and have latched onto a monkey pox as a new way to whip up hysteria, which is why I’m avoiding the rag that is the Daily Mail at all costs.
i used to be able to roll my eyes at it, but it’s gone into the territory of plain harmful reporting (especially during the pandemic and the aftermath when it whipped up hysteria, was extremely divisive, spread disinformation, blamed the NHS, the public sector and made excuses for MPs) and does the British public a real disservice.
I see it hasn’t been updated in years which is particularly helpful to all of us that like the thrill of a surpriseNo problem this side of the Atlantic, we're years ahead of the US. Particularly in the UK there is the appropriately named HAIRS group to cover infections via our furry friends.

The funding here didn't go into Fauci's pharma fiefdom so nobody cared, assuming they even noticed.
Yep! Smallpox vaccines are also offered to people working in labs - before monkeypox became a headlineIt’s only recommended for adults and not the vulnerable people/ age’s that Monkeypox could be deadly for.
As far as I read it doesn’t live on surfaces very long it needs a live host , the danger with the meat is the virus could be contained in the animal tissue so you’re consuming it if it’s not cooked through to kill off the infection, anyone within a metre radius of an infected person is at risk ….So that's my line of thinking.
Why now, surely people with monkey pox have come to Europe before. Why now has it caused spread in Europe. The covid years created massive change in the world, remember when they showed all the rivers and seas go clean from the boats not running. Human behaviour changing that drastically for 2 years must have some sort of knock on effect.
When I said food I more meant someone with the pox packaging or picking the food contaminating it, rather than food actually being a carrier.
I don't wanna open a kettle of fish but maybe it's worse in the UK because we are very multicultural. You can also buy bush meat pretty easily London.
