Aren’t they! We don’t want to get a new build because the ones where we live are awful so buying and renovating an older house is probably what we’ll do. Who knows. I have no clue about buying a house, I wish they taught you that at school Australia sounds incredible! I hope you get to go home soon

I have a mortgage with my boyfriend! 50/50 is the way to do it for sure if you arnt married etc (it's the safest way in my opinion!). Also just my opinion but new builds can be really great and affordable but you defo have to be planning to stay in them for 5± years to make them worth it and also storage never seems to be as good?Again just my opinion and older places defo have their cons ( we have a 25 year old bathroom that looks like a rogue Russian hospital room that we need to renovate and I am dreaming of a new build bathroomIt depends but I think so. I did my nursing degree here (I’m actually half British - so have dual citizenship) there’s pros and cons to living in the UK and Australia but the whole covid thing has made me realise how much I want to go back tbh. The situation here just never seems to be getting better and I’m tired of being separated from my family! You could try going to a mortgage/financial advisor? They’re pretty handy at explaining things. There is probably a YouTube channel that puts things into easy terms, but I’m so lazy at searching for these things haha. I hope it doesn’t take you long!That’s a good idea actually! I own a flat by myself. If you have a First Mortgage branch near you then I’d highly recommend a visit! They’re 100% free, you don’t ever pay them a penny even if you choose to get your mortgage through them. They gave me great advice and were realistic about what I could afford as a single buyer. I did nursing at uni - 100% recommend it. You'll get your maintenance loan/bursary as well as being able to work as care support work through bank staff or even doing bar work and stuff to support yourself through uni - that's what I did
Yeah here in Scotland nursing and paramedic students get a £10k bursary a year which will come in very handy! I work for NHS atm in an admin role but the department I work in are so supportive and are hoping to let me shadow our lead nurse on outpatient procedures and have me watch a couple of the specialist surgeries our consultants do. Hopefully it gets approved but not sure how strict they are with things like that due to covid. Not planning to apply for nursing until 2023 entry because I need to do an access course first and I’d like to get 6 months - 1 year experience as a HCA or support worker in there too!I did nursing at uni - 100% recommend it. I think I’ll need a few years of experience as nurse too before I get approved for an Australian visa. You’re so lucky to have dual citizenship!! Don’t get me wrong I love Scotland but I definitely DO NOT love winter here. Darkness for 18 hrs a day and minus temperatures ain’t it
I'm sure it would probably be at least a year. The wages are definitely better over there but the cost of living is way higher. I love Scotland, I'm jealous of all the snow you get I’d like to keep my job for ease but our clinic is finished by 4pm and admin doesn’t work weekends so it wouldn’t really work alongside uni. I was thinking of doing HCA/support worker more for flexibility of hours, overtime, enhanced rates etc but we’ll see! It’s still verrry early days yet but thank you for the support mom10k! The UK and Australia have just done a free trade deal and from my understanding brits can now go over and work for three years (after covid is more under control obviously haha), I'm not sure how much experience you need in your job though
