This seems to be our version of "A dingo ate my baby" everyone suspects but there is no proof.

By our I meant British, in case there are any Americans etc reading this.
You mean the DNA found in the car, the one, they hired after she went missing.

I’m Australian so mine are mostly local, the main ones that first come to mind would William Tyrell and Rahma el-Dennaoui as they were both very young when they disappeared (3 and 1 respectively). Having my own little one I just can’t imagine never getting that closure and constantly wondering what happened. Rahma disappeared from her bedroom sleeping between two older siblings 15 years ago and no trace has ever been found. William disappeared from his foster carers mums home (‘Grandmother’) 6 years ago and there have been various suspects but again no trace. https://www.theguardian.com/austral...duct-fresh-search-into-boys-nsw-disappearance

The Beaumont children also stands out to me, I just can’t imagine losing all your children so suddenly but never knowing what actually happened.
And also Madeline McCann, this was highly publicised here and is just so heartbreaking no matter whether people’s suspicions about the parents potentially involvement is correct or not.

I don't think Madelaine McCann's parents are guilty of anything more than complacency (and potentially giving a sleeping medication to their children).

I think the big issue with the McCann case is in how it was managed from the outset. Portugal had a completely different approach to missing children at the time. The lead officer was out for dinner when the call came in and sent a junior officer who with others made a quick search for Madelaine.

It was three hours before the more senior investigators got involved....by that point Madelaine was gone.

What should have happened is to shut down the whole area and then systematically search every apartment and home in the area including any container which might hold a small child. This is what would have happened in the US and also in the UK with a sudden abduction reported so quickly,

They should also have interviewed the tapas lot seperately rather than leaving them to try and come up with a timeline together. Mistakes were bound to have been made between them....even if not guilty.

I think Gerry McCann is completely controlling and he's known to be difficult. I can see why he took over or tried to take over in Portugal given his personality.

Well I’ve just read through this thread over the past 2 days.
I didn’t comment at the time because the post was a few months old, but someone said a psychic said a man would be arrested on July 4th - was it for the Delphi murders?
I assume because nobody has mentioned it then, as predicted, nothing happened on this date?

Yes that was me. I watched a psychic crime lady on YouTube who someone recommended on here (Really can’t remember her name now!). Got into a bit of a hole watching all her videos, she seems really good but didn’t get that bit right. She said the girls were showing her fireworks when he gets caught, so said could it be July the 4th. How good would it have been if it actually was then. It makes me so angry that killer hasn’t been caught 😡

Got it! Sloane Bella!

What SHOULD have happened is that the McCann's shouldn't have left three small children alone in an apartment in a foreign country.

When I watched the Netflix thing on it, it made it look as though the apartment was quite close to where the restaurant was, like on the same complex and in eyesight (not that it makes it right still) but my parents went for a holiday there and they were staying quite close and it isn’t anywhere near in sight and to make matters worse they left the door unlocked! I can barely leave my little boy overnight with his grandma so it makes me feel sick even thinking about leaving him in an apartment in a foreign country, out of sight with the door unlocked. That poor little girl 😢

But it was just like they were eating in their back garden and the children in the house... 🙄

What I cannot understand is why they’ve never held their hands up and said “We are sorry. We were wrong. We should never have left them”. But they haven’t - well not to my knowledge anyway. Take the majority of the blame ffs. They allowed whatever happened to happen to their poor, innocent daughter. Shame on them.

Filling their bellies and socialising was way more important than their children.
The wouldn’t have left their money and passports lying on the bed of an unlocked apartment, but their children? Yeah, no worries.

Also the hotel had a baby sitting service which even if it was expensive, they could afford on their doctors wages. Why on earth would they not use them! It’s so hard to get my head around.

Agreed agreed agreed! I wish they'd have just said were wrong to do what they did. There is no excuse to leave your children alone in an apartment when you go to a restaurant. Aside from abduction, so many other things could have happened. Babies get sick, they choke, there are fire risks etc. That aside, even if they played no part in her abduction/murder etc, they are 100% to blame for it. She would still be here today as part of their family if they didn't leave her and her younger siblings alone so they could have a child free meal.

Anyone got any more info on the two missing people/ murder cases in the news today? Bernadette Walker's parents have appeared in court over her murder and the parents of a man who went missing 28 years ago have been arrested. I wasn't aware of either case but interesting they're both in the news on the same day. Both have gone missing, not been since since. Bernadette went missing in July.

And if they hadn't been a pair of well to do doctors, but instead had been a couple from a sink estate, their other two children would have been taken from them and put in care immediately.

This without a shadow of a doubt, they would have then been adopted if a family member didnt take them permanently. Theres 2 laws here in the U.K one for the rich another for everyone else. Why were they not charged with child neglect? and how were they allowed to continue in their jobs?. Leaving Madeline was blatant neglect not a simple oversight. The whole thing stinks and they have taken no responsibility at all.
