I thought I should give a little bit of an update

I’d thought I’d had a chemical pregnancy because a week after testing positive I had painful cramps and a bleed with clots plus my tests weren’t really getting much darker. My GP sent me to A+E and I was told my test was negative there (which tbf some random middle of the day incredibly diluted pee, I’m now not surprised it was negative!!), the tests I was still doing at home were still positive and started to get much darker after this point.

I was referred to EPU (who wouldn’t see me until 2 weeks after I’d been to A+E) and on my first scan it showed 1 baby and 1 empty sac, now I won’t ever know for sure and the EPU couldn’t answer me but I guess it could’ve been a potential twin that I lost? They gave me zero answers for anything! 2 weeks later the next scan showed the second empty sac had collapsed a lot and baby was still there looking absolutely fine. ❤

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and currently having what I’m almost positive is another miscarriage 😢 I miscarried in December, found out I was pregnant again just before what would have been my babies due date which felt like a sign. Then this weekend I started spotting brown discharge, which turned to bleeding and today has been like a full blown period with bad stomach cramps. I’ve self referred to EPU but they’re closed at the weekend so will have to wait for someone to call me. I’m preparing for the worst though, I can’t see it being anything but a miscarriage at this point. I can’t believe it’s happening again 💔

It's been a longgggggg time since I've been on here and it's so lovely to see some names I remember from a couple of years ago. My little boy turned 2 a couple of weeks ago and we're about to start trying again, but after multiple miscarriages to conceive my little boy I'm really worried. I was also diagnosed with PCOS last month and, although I'm 99% sure I've always had it, it's now in my head that it's going to take forever and may not ever happen again. Has anyone been in a similar situation? x

Awww, that's so lovely - I've thought about you lots too and JXLRD!! How are you getting on?

I didn't have the best time postpartum, but after a couple of months we got there hence why I disappeared - couldn't keep up with anything

So glad to see this thread.
Experienced Recent first MC at 8+6 which was discovered during a private scan at 11weeks. Dreadful time as it all came to light the week of a siblings wedding. Had ERCP at 12 weeks as body hadn’t caught up with MC. Had been TTC for the bones of a year so disheartened when MC and now terrified of it happening again.
Husband and I trying again but feeling totally in limbo as admittedly didn’t have the patience to wait for a period in between so unable to accurately track ovulation and cycle. Had heard of MC in friend group but didn’t expect how upset husband and I would be following own MC unsure if it’s hormonal related or what. Finding the waiting and constant tissue checking exhausting. Anyone else in the same boat.

I think I’m having another miscarriage. We had one in April and I’m pretty sure this is happening again. We are only at 5 weeks so very early.

Sorry for your loss. It is exhausting and it surprised me how upset I was even though I only knew about the pregnancy for a short while ☹ it does get easier 🩷
I also didn’t want to wait between cycles to start trying again and I’ve been lucky enough to conceive 3rd cycle after MC but I’m pretty certain I didn’t ovulate the first cycle and I’m dubious over the second as my ovulation tests weren’t very clear. So it made me more stressed out and upset. Although I completely understand where you are and it’s easy for me to say give it time but your body has been through a lot (and you have mentally) so just be kind to yourself.

Thank you so much for signposting this thread. Also happy to hear you conceived after 3months. I’m at this point wanting to be pregnant since yesterday but relieved that 3months is a short period of time. It’s Near impossible to figure out cycle without a period but confident I’ve seen fertile mucous in minuscule amounts but time will tell.

Hello everyone, sorry we are on this thread but grateful to have found it. Currently miscarrying, I’m just over 7 weeks. Started spotting on mon, then brown dry blood, then period blood then red blood. Was also in Paris for the Olympics so even less ideal. EPU can’t scan me until Monday which seems incredibly tit. I had shoulder pain at one point, but still have to wait till Mon. So just here, waiting…. In 42 so really feels like this was my one shot! Keep thinking about this time last week when I was stressing about hiding the fact I wasn’t drinking at a party - how naive 😏

A random question, when did people start to exercise again? I run a lot, haven’t done anything since this started but my mental health will crash even more if I can’t do that.

Sending you love, currently going through the same thing. In regards to exercise, when this happened to me in April, a week later we went 2 weeks to Florida and everyday I was active and I was fine, no physical side affects, I would just say when you feel ready? xx

Thanks @Londonsays I'm really sorry to hear you are going through the same thing. This whole experience is making me realise how many other women have had this experience and I’ve just not known, it’s so sad.

Thanks for your advice, I’m mainly hibernating (but still wfh), but I feel like it’s probably doing me no good mentally!

I didn’t walk or move for months due to early pregnancies and miscarriage.
I now look back and think: wow. Please go for a run if it helps you, it’s like running on a period and shouldn’t do any harm. I’m really sorry this has happened to you.

Thanks @fedup2019 i did go on Saturday, just very gentle and it really helped me. However, my bleeding has then increased since then so it’s kind of put me off.

All I want to do now is stay in bed, I’m working this week, but finished a bit early yesterday and may do the same again today. I don’t want to see or speak to anyone, mainly I think as I feel like I’ve been concealing something for so long (pregnancy and then this) that I feel like I’m lying to everyone. Argh!

Can I ask if other people took much time off work?

I had two weeks off.. I am lucky as I work for the NHS and they had just introduced two weeks miscarriage leave. Physically, I could have gone back after a day or two but emotionally I definitely needed that time away from work. My manager was super understanding, I’d really recommend having some time off to process it ❤

I can relate to this, I felt I lied to everyone except my GP and husband. It’s a desperate feeling especially for me lying to those I loved parents etc. told my mom about the MC and D&C and while at the time she was was great I now feel she’s watching my every move like a hawk and speculating. I took the week off. D&C weds and back to work the following Monday. I have also been slow to return to gym exercise my preference now is a long walk in the evenings in a bid to keep stress low before we can try again. Be kind to yourself X

So glad to have found this space to read about others experiences. I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in April & it totally floored me physically & emotionally. I was so shocked at the effect it had on me, I ended up being off work for 2 & a half weeks, spending part of the first week in hospital & most of the rest crying at home.
We are now trying to conceive again after a very up & down return to ‘normal’ cycles. When I got my period earlier this month I was crushed. I think this is probably because we conceived quicker than expected first time round. I still have these huge waves of emotion come over me from time to time which I am struggling with.
I spent years on the fence about wanting a baby, and now feel a guilt that we didn’t try sooner as once I found out I was pregnant I was made up, and the loss of that was horrific.
