I love that she’s been doing some research into ‘homeschooling’. The only reason she wants to homeschool is so it fits into her lifestyle and she can cart him around with her. She has trouble running her business and sending her parcels off let alone making sure her child gets an education. Deluded.

Yep, I'm from the same town she comes from and have always been brought up to say "Pardon" and not "What". My kids say pardon, we are not posh, we just have manners. This has wound me up 😳

‘Pardon’ is actually seen as déclassé if we wanted to be all Debretts about it. This makes no sense.

Is this a sustainable business? Will it still be around in ten years? I don’t know. I’d definitely want some sort of other job ticking me along incase this all starts crumbing though fair play to her for feeling so confident that it’ll last forever

Yup. My ex’s mum was super posh and she said that about “pardon”. It’s all about the “what”, what what? Tally ho, Carrie, you silly girl. Being rude isn’t going to make him seem cool 🙄

She may as well stop looking then. It’s hard enough to get a mortgage with two employed incomes in the southeast. She’ll either need a huge deposit or bite the bullet and accept she needs to do it with someone else. I can see why banks would see her as risky to lend to

I doubt he had very many, if any, assets himself to throw into the pot tbh.

What’s weirder is that during the course of all her research into this, she hasn’t realised that if she buys a house while she’s married to him, it will be an asset of the marriage and therefore de facto half his, whether he contributes or not.

Which begs the question: what on earth was the point of marrying him in the first place? If she wants to own a property on her own she’ll need to get divorced first.

Why does this women hate absolutely everything? Parents take their children to pumpkin patches to make fun memories with their children Carrie, it’s exciting for children and costs barely anything. Doesn’t want to take her kid to a pumpkin patch because of the cost but will happily drag him to the pub after school to buy a drink and post the same old photo of her glass of wine with a sea view 🙄

What is she talking about? I’m from East Ham and say pardon, I’m telling you now I don’t sound posh in the slightest and my parents never tried to make me that way either

The upper classes say ‘what’ - if you read Nancy Mitford’s U and Non-U article (a prime bit of trolling but lots of fun) it explains why. Anything that comes from French is sneered at (mirror, serviette, pardon, perfume) as terribly non-U.

I come from one of the roughest council estates in Britain. I’m definitely not posh but there are two things my mother taught us, always use your manners. Such as Pardon and match your knickers to your bra.
Carrie the champagne socialist. She’s a dick.

Yep. The misplaced outrage is très hilarant 😉
