Maya is definitely smug and vain, growing up very beautiful can do that to a person I guess. She’s not funny in the slightest esp with her OTT trying to be a goofball online schtick that she does, pulling weird faces and doing silly dances. It’s classic ‘beautiful person who’s been tricked into thinking they’re funnier and more interesting than they are because they’re beautiful’ syndrome.

It’s the same thing that holds her back as a presenter imo. She coasts by doing the bare minimum and people mistake her for being far better at her job than she actually is. Love Island is by far her plummiest gig to date so I’m interested to see how she does. Ever since her old tweets got leaked I’ve had a fairly low opinion of her, they were quite vile and she would’ve been 18-20ish writing them so imo it’s a reflection of her character and not just childish folly.
Yeah, the goofy act doesn't wash with me either. She just looks like an idiot. Davina McCall does that BS too and it's always annoyed me.

When her old tweets surfaced, I put her in the bin. The fact she dated a dark skinned man for a number of years means sweet FA either. Silly cow.

She hasn’t started the job and is already annoyed about the fake headlines. There will be more every week so she needs to get use to it 😂

I don’t think she’s all that either! But the thing is, she used to be prettier. She’s starting the fillers and stuff and it’s gonna ruin her face by the end of the year. She’s pretty, but yeah anyone can be that pretty the more money they have. Not hard 🤣

Agreed. I got completely vilified for tweeting this some time ago!

All this manifesting bull 🙄 no Hun, it's privilege.
I don’t believe this manifesting stuff influencers spout but she hasn’t come from a privileged background. She’s actually spoke about how her dad was in prison when growing up.

I even find her annoying on the This Morning video of her saying you can vote someone in on LI. She looks awkward when she actually has the be humble and do a presenting job. I feel like I could be sat on the couch waving my hands around- doesn’t seem like a professional. And all the little love islander wannabes in the comments saying goddess!

If I could love myself even half as much as Maya loves herself, my quality of life would improve so much!

She’s been continuously I would say somewhat worshipped for her looks for years

Noticed the post about her being photographed and looked at her story. Someone tell her love island is not about her? I understand the paparazzi take photos but your job is to present. She said I’m not going out during blah blah blah. I didn’t listen properly after that. You’re not going out… right. I may be off with it being the media culture or it’s just her overreacting. Either way the whole thing is boring. I think she assumes it’s in her job title to be worshipped and have everyone look at her. It’s to have people look at the show… 🤯😅 there’s probably more media personalities with the worship complex. She was one of few I followed because I thought she had a fun energy and relatable. I unfollowed sharply.

It’s also that I check on her every now and then. The constant stream of Instagram story’s clogging up with 3 themes:

* Pouting in the car / makeup chair / executive location or Moving her head back (pointless)
* Pulling a silly face or running like an idiot and howling at herself (guys I’m so crazy)
* Showing off by posing in a bikini

although the most recent one is loads of her “friends” in an actual viewing screen watching her LI debut. The arrogance. Imagine how that happens. “Hey guys let’s all get together, and have a viewing party with ME ME ME as the centre of attention. But film it on someone else gram as I don’t to be seen as vain.”

She literally has got by on pretty privilege and arrogant behaviour. I get it that a lot of people get very far on so little.

But just pulls all the cards out - oh I’m BAME, oh I’m young woman, oh I’m from a poor background etc to try and shut you down that you don’t like her because of this and trying to hold her back.

Rather than not liking her because she’s a ****

Is anyone the same person at 28 as they were at 18?

I think it's unfair that the tweets keep being brought up. She made a genuine apology. Move on.

I’m the same exact age as her, used Twitter at the same time and directly had my self confidence affected by the jokes and insulting comments about darker skinned people that she and others gleefully joined in on, so no!

Obviously I don’t think she’s evil and I’m sure she’s grown up since then, but I’m very aware of the dynamics at play with people like her who joined in on that stuff back then. And how they move now that it’s no longer socially acceptable to behave like that. It does a disservice to people who never behaved that way back then to act like ‘everyone did it, it’s just a normal part of growing up.’ Because that’s not true.
