I really don't understand why he wants to live like this. Okay working can be bloody hard at times but surly he'd feel a lot better doing something? Even if he worked one day a week and spent his wages on bloody cider just getting out and doing something would be better than sitting in his own filth everyday. If I was being housed and had everything paid for for me (especially in the area he's living) I'd be out at the beach every day, going for walks, reading books, painting, literally anything free and accessible I'd be doing! What is so enjoyable about his lifestyle?

Why isn’t he made to get a job? I thought you have to be actively looking for work or you don’t get benefits.

He might have been declared as having limited capability for work, this means he won’t be pushed to look for work.

How much do you get if your on the sick? I work full time and have a second job and couldn’t afford to eat that many takeaways / maccies

I don’t know completely, I am on universal credit with a limited capability for work and I get £80 a month because I applied while was at university - if I wasn’t (at uni) I think I couldreceive up to £500

You do if your deemed fit to work. I had to go through assessments because I had bad agoraphobia and my anxiety was shocking. Fast forward a few years I’ve had a job I gave it up due to my anxiety and college. I actually prefer college to being at home I’m currently online for it and I’ve been so behind on all my work as the motivation is not there. College would do him a world of good
