For me it is worth it as it will be my third c-section and my OB was there for each of them and my recovery was very good. But I do understand if you don’t have complications it can seem like a lot of $$$. Each to their own.
Oh - absolutely, 100%!! 💫

I had a geriatric pregnancy (36!) after an ectopic and IVF and my OB was 5Kish and totally worth it to hand-hold me through the pregnancy. If you are low risk then our public system is fab!

Absolutely no issue with people going private. I think it’s funny how Jessie portrays herself versus her actual life. Just be honest and stop pretending to be relatable

She’s seeing Dr Stephen Morris. Massive office in Macquarie St overlooking the botanic gardens and he’s known for delivering celebs.

I actually feel bad for Jessie. I used him for my first pregnancy and didn’t have a good experience (maybe because I’m not a celeb 😂). He overbooks himself so spends very little time with you (it’s like a factory) and has such an odd bedside manner, no warmth or sense of humour at all. Plus a few other things that mean I would not recommend him.

For my next two pregnancies I saw another OB who was amazing, it was like night and day.

Clare taking over from Jessie while she’s on mat leave. Anyone want to put money on why em gillespie left? No movement upwards when the twins are around. I’m just glad it isn’t Elfy taking over to be honest. She is blander than a low fat rice cake.

Funnily enough I see Dr Morris and have had a great experience for 3 pregnancies. I actually like his style - direct and to the point - but understand he’s is not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s no surprise that Jessie sees him given Mia also used him for one of her pregnancies.
I went through many rounds of IVF for this pregnancy and had some issues from 6-13 weeks and he was very hands on with my treatment, saw me weekly and gave me extra care and I’m not a celebrity.

Elfy is not only bland, but she’s pretty clearly not loving mmol. Twice this week she’s said stuff about wishing to be pretty much anywhere but the office.

This is definitely the point. Being honest makes you relatable and I don’t find Jessie knows how to do this because she still sees herself as a woman of the people when really is one of the privileged - which is also fine, but just be honest about it.

Em has gone to the daily. Good for her, they have made a massive reach and I like their podcast. Hopefully we will hear more from her

Those comments were so pointed. She has also said she’s moved to one of the “executive editor” roles and isn’t editor in chief anymore. She was maybe in that role for [insert ellipsis here] a month?

Yes it’s so strange! How much longer will she last?

This is coming from someone who’s never been pregnant but I don’t see the big deal about that the Hello Bump episode
The specialist briefly covered a few issues women can have while pregnant such as HG, diabetes, mental health and miscarriage
She said with HG itGoes away after 14 weeks for MOST women, so isn’t she just stating facts?
Also they then spoke to Martha about it for about 10 mins and acknowledged it was a serious issue, what more did they want? 🤷‍♀️
I’m glad you’ve never experienced the hell that is HG. The issue is that HG does not generally go away after 14 weeks for most women — what the OB meant was that typical morning sickness usually goes away by then. If you’re not a sufferer and have never even been pregnant, maybe accept that women who HAVE experienced HG and the consequences of inadequate treatment are the ones best placed to comment on the episode.

Of course, I can still comment though and that's why I disclosed I have not been pregnant, and that they spoke to Martha later where the severity of the condition was better explained and spoken about at length, they can't cover everything in just one podcast, Also I didn't play down the condition, just what was discussed,I'll leave it at that:)

It’s fine that they can’t cover everything in one episode, but if they ARE going to present an episode as being about HG, then they need to do it in a responsible way. Of course you can comment and have an opinion, but it’s always better to defer to those with experience, from my perspective. I’ve never had diabetes or cancer or lupus, for instance, so I would never dream of trying to tell a sufferer of those conditions how to feel about representations of them in media. Yes, it’s great that Martha got on there to share her experience, but that doesn’t change how poorly the OB handled her responses to Gemma and Jessie’s question about what differentiates HG from more typical sickness.

Not only is Elfy an absolute bore, but her attitude stinks. Isn’t she the Editor in Chief of Mamamia? Why is she publicly saying that she wishes it was her last day too?
