Apparently she has a 'ye olde english farmhouse' now and not a #Cornish #Geogian #Country #Period #house. Ok Ms. Delusion.

I can't stop laughing at the fact that her latest vlog is LITERALLY about watching paint dry and is about as interesting.
I lasted 5 minutes before I decided to go outside and watch the grass grow instead. :ROFLMAO:

I flicked through and as far as I could tell it's just another video of her talking about what they're going to do with the kitchen, waffling about the difference between white 01 and white 02 and pointing at the fridge, freezer etc again. How many times does she need to repeat all this?

I'm not an influencer but if you're going to do a decorating series then having a focus for each video and a consistent theme seems sensible. For example;
Video 1. Plans for the kitchen
Video 2. Sanding and painting the beams
Video 3. Choosing a colour and painting the kitchen
Video 4. Choosing accessories
Video 5. The end result with a before and after
Video 6. Tips for being as sustainable as possible when decorating your house. For example, paint shops that recycle paint, shopping second hand for everything, materials to avoid etc.

Instead there's the same repetition and pointing in each vlog style video and no consistent video titles. The decorating is often thrown in with other stuff like hauls, trips to the beach and pottery classes. The branding and thumbnails are inconsistent as well.

It just feels like a mess to me with little thought as to what's accessible, especially for new viewers who might have found her channel. Why would a new viewer click that 40 minute long Oops video?

ETA if anyone wanted to watch the renovation decorating series they could probably watch a boxset of The Office in the same time. By repeating everything and including other weekly vlog bits they've made their renovation decorating videos much longer than they need to be, and near impossible for anyone to watch back for decorating tips.

I agree, these videos shouldn’t be longer than 10-15 mins. 40 mins is ridiculous.

Speaking of sustainability. I didn't think it is thought of as a sustainable practice for a two person home having two cars? Yet our eco queen is thinking about getting another car. If you both work from home, surely you just have a conversation about who needs the car and when? But what do I know?

I think it’s clear Maddie is now an interiors and home renovation influencer with a bit of vegan cooking thrown in. She has moved on from sustainability and minimalism content.

This renovation ’series’ is a mess! There’s no real progression just her talking for ages about the same thing and then when she had done the painting the lighting was so blown out you couldn’t see anything and she kept saying ‘you can’t really see it’ so what the point of the whole video?! I can’t be bothered with her now, I’ll check back in a year when she might have finished something.

I’ve watched her Reno videos and I think yesterday’s was my last. We’re going on about the beams AGAIN?? And, from my eye, it looks like she misses the underside of one of them. She basically waffled and waffled and nothing one said or done, really.
She spent a lot of time trying to convince herself that the faux built in shelves were worth it and she’s not going to lose any light.

However, I think they’re going to make the place look WAY smaller and cramped. I’m definitely not convinced but its not my house so I’ll enjoy this train wreck.

Utter drivel spewing at a moderate pace from her mouth.

It’s SO dark and cramped! I can’t see this as their forever home you can’t swing a cat in that living room never mind the couple of kids she sometimes mentions she wants. It’s lovely from the outside and the garden is huge 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would def be worried about the amount of light they're going to lose with the cupboards. I like what she's done with the beams but every video is very repetitive now. She should have made the whole beams process into one video showing it from start to finish and the same for the other aspects of the redecorating. Every video is very long and samey at the moment.

The kitchen looks really dark and cold and uninviting to me. The pictures of the house before they bought it show a lived-in kitchen with artworks, books, colour, plants - not a cold, off-white, dull 'instagram' studio.

I also don't understand why she isn't even trying to make some food content especially as it's summer. Plenty of youtube food influencers film outdoors and make use of BBQs and grills. It would actually make some interesting content for once - "great vegan BBQ food" or "what to cook on a BBQ when you are renovating". Unfortunately I think most of her cooking is just gleaned off Pinterest - she's not particularly creative or innovative when it comes to cooking, so it always surprises me when she calls herself a food blogger.

Lol ikr
Her lounge doesn't even seem cosy, just poky and depressingly cramped!

Madeleine mentioned earlier that she’d left her management. I wonder if she’s going to do it all herself (with Alex and the rest of her ‘people’) or go somewhere else.

Her new vlog came up on my YouTube recommended...how many videos can you make about roof beams? It's so boring!!!

Oh so leaving her management is presumably the big scary change she kept banging on about. Not very interesting for the viewer tho and probably didn't need a big clickbaity video.
