Idk why I bothered watching the latest video because it's been the same dull Reno vlogs/content. Might have to make a Madeleine Olivia drinking game. Take a shot any time she says 'antique brass' or 'beams'.

I started to watch todays video but I can't watch her saying the same thing over and over about wanting wine storage, the plans for the fridge and freezer etc. I'm sure there have been at least three videos where she's said the exact same things. If there was a proper series just focusing on the home improvements process, or a before and after video for the room then I'd probably watch it. I bet there will be a video about the finished kitchen even though we're being shown it weekly as well.

Oh I didn’t think anyone had picked up on this yet (I mentioned it in a previous post which was longer) but I think it’s interesting cos it was advertised at £500,000 so to pay another £50k over the asking is a lotttt especially when you have plans from the get go to spend big on changes (she has talked a lot about wanting to extend etc). It just shocks me how much money she is making to afford that house and have all the cash spare to do all the work they are planning.

I thought this was really gross and made her sound so entitled. She was complaining none stop and now suddenly he’s lovely, sure thing.

I also skipped my way through the video and was so confused by her replacing the handles she loves ? Like why? Is it really that bothersome to have different handles on the new cupboards, I would personally rather that than waste ones that I liked more! Not very sustainable of her

I've survived several home renovations myself, work in the building/trades industry, and have helped family members sort out their own renovation stuff, and in all of that time I have NEVER met anyone as bleeping dramatic and asinine as Madeleine. This woman is literally having meltdowns over the smallest details. It must be bleeping exhausting being Madeleine and having to micromanage every detail of her own existence. It seems that if she doesn't get what she wants, she throws her multiple (and likely self-diagnosed) mental health issues out in front of her to control anything she doesn't like.

Sounds like they got in a bidding war for it. But what I don't understand is why they didn't then knock the price down after the survey. Like surely they would have gone for a full structural on a property that old and it should have identified the issues like the hearth, the garage roof, the windows and they could have taken that into consideration with their final offer.

Dramatic and asinine is bang on. So dangerous when combined with the fact that she is the star & breadwinner for those around her - the power imbalance would exacerbate them needing to placate her which in turn will exaggerate her tendencies. Then add the fact there are hefty renovations & hired help to pay for and if you place one foot wrong in the influencer game it all comes crashing down. I hope she has at least one person nearby who is not on the payroll and can give it to her straight.

I discovered Madeleine a couple of years ago and actually really liked her up until recently. The need to obsess over every little thing is starting to grind on me. Does it REALLY matter if something is antique bronze or brass? Everything doesn't have to match! In fact, having everything be a 100% matchy-matchy can look a bit much and try-hard. I'm an illustrator and designer so I can talk for years about colours and I get wanting things to look good but DEAR GOD give it a rest! Having a cohesive look is more nuanced than making sure your taps, door handles and drawer pulls are a perfect match.
