Madeleine McCann Netflix documentary

^^ I didn't know that about the fridge, interesting. There was another theory about Madeleine possibly being put into a large blue tennis holdall which the cadaver dogs alerted to as well.

Some people have wondered why the younger children were not taken instead if it was an abduction: It's horrific to think about but I recall the Armchair Detective saying some paedophiles 'prefer' young children that would already be toilet trained (shudder). By the way, I no longer watch his channel as I think he's an egoistic charlatan.

The fridge thing is so weird. It wasnt thier own home so no need or right to get rid of something like that!

Exactly. Why didn’t each family just take it in turns to sit in with all the kids each night? That way the other parents could have an uninterrupted meal knowing someone was watching the kids. Or better still, on a FAMILY holiday, why didn’t they all eat together earlier, say half six-seven, with the kids, rhen have a few drinks on the balcony when the kids go to sleep? It beggars belief they left their kids alone to eat, not to mention the other activities they did alone, like tennis etc, while the kids were in kids clubs. When did they actually spend time as a family??
I agree when did they actually spend time with these 3 kids, all day at kids clubs and all night alone ! If they wanted a family holiday with nights alone why didn’t they all stay in a villa and let the kids go to bed whilst they were on the garden socialising or even go out for lunch instead with friends whilst the kids were at clubs

Yes! From what i can tell the only time they saw the kids was at breakfast, then after kids club before bed. Thats not a family holiday

The truth is they have lied about a lot of things, and I don’t know about you but if that was me and I was innocent I would say come on question me all you want because I have nothing to hide, the quicker we do it the quicker we will be out there looking for her! But no, there was photos of them having lunch and laughing actually laughing days after she went missing! Who does that?!?

I haven’t decided if I can watch it yet.

I’m glad they used her name in the title though. Calling her Maddie drives me absolutely crazy. It’s taking her name away from her. And she herself apparently hated that and corrected people if they called her it. I remember James Bulger’s mother saying the same when people would call him Jamie.
Agreed.Just starting it now. Talking about James Bulger ,and his parents (especially his mother) ,and comparing them ,is like night and day.James` mother fought from day one for her son ,still raises money for charities for lost children. She is truly inspirational. The Mccans` on the other hand ,seemed to grab the donations ,and the limelight.God i hope i`m wrong in disbelieving their stories..:(

In the last page of the book Gançalo Amaral says “ To me and for the investigators that have worked with me in this case until October 2007, we have concluded:
  1. The minor Madeleine McCain died in the apartment 5A on the night of the 3rd of May 2007.
  2. A kidnap simulation as occurred.
  3. Kate Healy and Gerald McCain are suspects in the occultation of their daughters cadaver.
  4. Her death might have been the result of a tragic accident.
  5. There were signs of negligence in respect of the looking and security of their children.
In respect to number 3, the parents haven’t been cleared of this!

It’s brilliant, I have the book, Portuguese of course, it’s worth a read!
I read it online a couple of years ago and am reading it again now, it's more believable than the documentary will ever be. I think it should be published in the UK too, the McCann's should not get away with neglected their kids, in the book it says on their first night of their holiday Madeleine cried for her dad all evening in the room she shared with her siblings until her parents returned.

Yes, they printed that on a Portuguese news paper, “daddy where were you when I cried last night”!! Knowing that they still left them unattended, that’s why they think it was an accident, by the window in the living room, the sofa had been moved from its original place, and our window seals are in marble, that’s where Eddie and keela detected blood too😕

I never let my kids out of my sight, especially in a foreigh country. But I remember being in Gran Canaria the summer after Madeleine disappeared & a couple used to leave their baby in their hotel room for it’s nap, bring their baby monitor down to the pool & sunbathe for hours. Some people don’t deserve kids. 😡

So they`d easily hear someone sneak in and take their baby then? I have no words. :(

My children are 12 and almost 11 and I've only just started leaving them for an hour while I do the food shop. No way I'd ever leave them at the age of 2 and 3

my Children are teenagers, youngest being 13, we visit family in turkey every year in our own hotel that is family run, I still wouldn’t leave them in the room to go out! No matter how old abroad, you don’t know the people or place and you definitely don’t know who’s watching, drugs are very easily available over the counter with little question asked, don’t care how big my kids are they could be drugged and taken just as easy 🤷🏻‍♀️ just my opinion tho

I totally agree with this. The McCanns and their friends appeared to treat the presence of the children as an inconvenience and a hindrance to their own selfish desires.
Not content with palming them off to virtual strangers throughout the day they routinely abandoned their very young children unsupervised in an unsecured environment so that they could sit eating and getting pissed with their mates.
The fact that all these supposedly educated adults thought this was normal or acceptable behaviour is truly repulsive. Had this happened with the child of a working class family in a caravan park in England you can be damn sure that they’d have quite rightly had their arses bounced down to the local nick and had some real questions to answer.
The true victim in all of this is Madeleine not her disgusting parents.

Find all these posts and theories really interesting although the documentary bored me. Anyone know what Kate and Gerry are doing now, are they back working as doctors? Can't imagine that.

I think he went back a while ago, not sure whether he's still doing it now. Don't think she's worked since.

Kate never returned to her part-time job as a locum after daughter Madeleine’s disappearance and handed in her notice in 2008.
Maddie’s dad is a renowned consultant cardiologist and a professor of cardiac imagery.
Professor McCann, as he is now titled, prides himself on having “established a national and growing international reputation as an expert in Cardiac MRI (magnetic reasoning imaging)” – or scanning.

Just found these details
