You’re operating on the idea that that all was happening on the same day. It could not have done.
I agree. It’s been said whatever happened to her happened a few days before and it gave them a chance to get their story straight and clear up any evidence

Things like the deleted phone records make them look guilty. However, entirely possible that they were deleted because one or both of them was having an affair and didn’t want this to come to light during the investigation. They lied and covered things up for sure (in my opinion, based on the inform in the police files), but whether that’s because they covered up their daughter’s death or simply because they wanted to hide unrelated shady activity is unclear.
What “shady activity” could be more important than the need to establish clear facts around the disappearance of your child?

Yes I think you might if you needed space to get texts\calls from people with information
Surely you’d realise how suspicious it would look and delete the extremely old texts rather than the recent ones leading up to her disappearance?

totally agree, but not really sure how savvy we all were with our technology back then, did they even know that could be checked?

They may have had a Nokia brick that could only hold 10 msgs and 5 voicemails though.

could be texts home to parents saying 'the kids are a pain, wish we had never brought them, might chuck em in the sea tomorrow' or something that is equally as jokey but could be seen as callous.

What really got me was their refusal to do a reconstruction. Don't think I've seen that before? I can't remember if they gave a reason why because at least when it came to Kate refusing to answer all those questions it can be put down to legal advice.

They did seem so strangely disinterested in actively searching for their missing daughter. Jetting off on a world tour though? They were really into that. Most people would want to stay in the one place - wherever that is - right after their kid is "taken" from them.

I feel like I read somewhere she was checked into the Kids club the day before - don't quote me on this until I can remember where I read it from though 😂

I think it was also said the crèche staff had confirmed there was a blonde girl there but it could’ve been another child from their group. Who knows

Absolutely nothing, but these are the McCanns. Even if they have nothing to do with their daughter’s disappearance, their behaviour following it was odd and seemed callous. Covering their own backsides by hiding messages would go along with that.

To be clear, I tend towards thinking that they probably did have something to do with M’s disappearance, but I like to come at it from the direction of looking at what they say is true, then looking for the discrepancies and holes, or looking at the evidence against them in the police files, trying to find the holes in that and seeing what is left over.

Sidenote - do you think we will ever get the FULL story? Even answers?
Do you think there will ever be closure to this case?

Never.

The McCann's have too many powerful connections in terms of anyone who may know spilling the details, like one of their mates or something.

Never. Unless they did it and give a deathbed confession.

And, if CB is charged, I don’t think the public will know what the evidence is. Not fully.

How can that be - MM was at the children's club on the day she disappeared so she couldn't have accidentally died days earlier and her parents hid the evidence

Who leaves three kids alone in an apartment with unlocked doors to go out eating and drinking, never mind a wee girl that was crying the night before because she woke up and no one was there! I know this has been said a million times but as a parent I can't and will never get my head round this. They knew that wee girl could wake up again, alone, in a strange country, in an unlocked apartment and they still left her????

Also the fact that Kate's first though was that she was taken. I don't know how to word this but to me, if your first though is that she was taken, then it must have been something that has at least crossed your mind when leaving your children alone in an unlocked apartment, that this, no matter how unlikely, could be possibility. So no matter how fleeting the thought or how unlikely she thought it was, she still left those three kids there having at least acknowledged that this could possibly happen. Otherwise why would your first though not be that she wandered off, or could still be in the apartment somewhere. You would turn it upside down looking for her or run along the halls, look around the pool etc, not run straight back to restaurant and say 'they've taken her'. I guess what I'm trying to say is, she either left those kids there while she knew fine well they were vulnerable and accessible to any weirdo creeping about, but didn't give a damn because she'd rather go out or there is something more sinister to the story.

It was said a blonde child same age etc was there but it could have been any child from the group and the staff were made to think it was her. Yes she was signed in but no proof it was actually her.
