ITV tonight at 9.00pm Madeleine McCann: The Hunt For The Prime Suspect
🤦🏼‍♀️ why do they keep calling him a "prime suspect"? Who has labelled him as this? Portugese police NEVER cleared the McCanns. They're as much of a suspect as christian is. But ITV would never be allowed to air a documentary that put the spotlight on them.
Now, why might that be? Why can't mainstream media discuss the parents? Why wont they discuss the discrepancies in statements, oddities about their own behaviour and even lightly broach the subject of Madeleines disappearance being at the hands of those closest to her. Why do we never see an unbiased overview, looking at all possibilities?
Its certainly not because they have been cleared as innocent.

I feel like I remember the dogs findings being dismissed for a reason, I can't remember what it was though.
I think she was taken. I don't think they were checking the children as much as they say, if at all. That's why all their timings are mixed up. They allowed this to happen but I don't think they killed her. And in the middle of it all was a terrified 3 year old. It makes my blood run cold.

There have been lots of headlines over the years of Madeline being sold in to sex rings. I definitely remember Morocco being mentioned too!

Found another statement while looking through the pj files from a man who heard Gerry on the phone saying Madeline had been taken by peadophiles. He heard him the night they reported her missing and again the following day.

Its beggars belief! It all just goes back to why she was left alone the first place, especially as he KNEW of these pedophiles in the area!?

Personally I think they knew the three kids would sleep soundly as they were medicating them. Benadryl or something like that and overdosed Madeleine accidentally and she came to harm - maybe a fall given the blood traces.

No one in their right mind would leave children on their own to go out to dinner that far away. They claim the restaurant was nearby but it was a good five minute walk. Sleepy or naughty children could have got up to anything, sticking their fingers in the plug sockets, choking, wandering off to find their parents and falling into the pool......the possibilities for harm are endless without any thought of stranger involvement. If you ask me, they drugged the kids and were only going in to check they were asleep and breathing. Madeleine died and they covered it up

I think the difference with April Jones is that it was evident very quickly she had been taken and there was no mystery for want of a better word of the circumstances around her disappearance, just very tragic ones. Madeleines disappearance just wasn’t as obvious and like it or not her parents didn’t help themselves with their strange behaviour and accounts of what happened. That’s why many people are wary of their story. The truth will never be told and they will never be free from allegations. That’s what I think.

The leaving the kids sleeping while they went out for a meal didn’t strike me as odd, I’ve done similar myself, even after 2007.

When they left the twins after it all happened to go meet the pope, I thought “eh?”, that was very strange.

They didn't just leave them once, they left them several nights running. They neglected their children and paid the ultimate price. Why have kids if all you're going to do on holiday is get pissed with your mates and leave your kids in daycare and then to fend for themselves at night.

So glad I’ve found this thread have so many theories and unanswered questions which I don’t think will ever get answered unfortunately.
What stands out for me that even if parents had nothing to do with her disappearance apart from leaving her. Why do they act so strange? For me they don’t act like the parents of missing children everything is so rehearsed. The constant need to sue people annoys me surely the money could be spent better on finding their daughter rather than the public paying again. Not that I begrudge that but there are thousands of missing children who don’t get any attention, Ben Needham for a start.
Even if the last few weeks or months I can’t keep up with the new development they haven’t come forward and made an appeal or anything. They moaned about netflicks doing the documentary and wanted it banned?! But surely if that makes one person come forward it’s worth it. They seem more bothered about the ‘charity’ and image then finding Madeline.
Lastly it’s the media reporting of it that annoys me too I think most of the public are slightly suspicious and annoying with them but the media are so far up their arses I don’t get why. They obviously are told to be but I would love to know why. Did anyone see the cry on BBC I thought that was a blatant dig at the mccans a bit like when you want to say something but can’t. Anyway I will stop ranting now there are lots that annoy me about this case but those are my main points ha
I was put off the parents on day one when they went to play tennis the day after she disappeared.
If it had been my child I would have been a wreck and crying too hard, or hopefully out looking for her/ him...

Totally agree a listening service is better than fuck all. I also agree that if they were Tracy and Kev, checkout operator and car mechanic and had left their kids they’d have been hauled over the coals for what they did. And more so if they were people of colour.
oh yes the fact that they had the money to pay for a nanny/babysitter makes it worse in my opiniion, if a poor family had done the same they would have been lambasted but it would have been more likely that they just couldn't afford a sitter for their kids. I really think they should have got someone in to mind the kids I can't really understand why they left them alone, I know they were nearby but it just proves that leaving small kids alone isn't safe for a number of reasons.

They want to lock this man up for other crimes and hoping this will keep him behind bars, I don’t believe he’s responsible although there’s a possibility he knew something or was a helping hand, but they’re clutching at straws now. (IMO before I’m sued like many others were! )What other missing children are still in the news 15 years on? I have never believed the mccanns innocence based on the facts and information from the Portuguese police.

No colomba - photoshopped in and admitted it was a marketing ploy.
cadaver in the car boot and on kates clothes was supposedly fish. Sniffer dog detected death in the room.
blood splatters on the walls in such a way that it would explain a fall causing head injury and blood from the nose, room rearranged to hide it. They had bleached the whole room and washed the curtains.
Barely any clothes for Madeleine, none in the photos of the holiday were available and no hairbrush or toothbrush for dna.
Writing a timeline before searching for Madeleine or calling the police.
kate shouted ‘she’s gone’ so Portugal clearly sell psychic wine as everyone knew it was Madeleine and didn’t check their own children in fear they were missing too.
Sign in and out sheets for the kids club were wrong, the mccanns nanny also worked there and no one knew what child belonged to what parent. Again speculation another child was signed in as Madeleine.
Leaving the twins with anyone despite not knowing if a staff member had stolen their child or the kidnapper was waiting to come back. They all continued to leave their children alone. (I don’t believe they ever did it was an excuse to make a kidnap possible as a grandma came along for babysitting duties and one person was missing each night)
Personal phone number of David Cameron and access to the church. Royal family owned boats were docked nearby at the time - best not go down that rabbit hole.
Staff members described Madeleine different to each other, a lot of people at the time speculated there was a stand in child and Madeleine was long gone as there wasn’t any conclusive evidence she was ever on the holiday. All photos were old showing a much younger child and had been edited before release
plenty more but I don’t want to be accused of spreading rumours, these are all easily accessible online so not my opinions just facts from the case.
it shocks me that it’s all ignored and the mccanns innocence is expected as they’re professionals. Like another poster said if it was Tracey from the council estate she’d be locked up and her kids in care. It’s not fair on other parents who no longer have their children because these neglectful people get the limelight and billions spent on the search knowing she will never be found.

No responsible parent would (y)
After all these years I still can’t get my head around the fact that they have not faced charges of child neglect. You have to wonder if they hadn’t been such a “respectable middle class” couple would they have been treated the same? Who, in their right minds, leaves young children on their own? They are totally responsible for what happened to that poor child and they need to be held accountable. Sadly they never will. To put your own needs ahead of those of small children is indefensible. If they were so desperate to meet up with their mates in the evening snd have some me time, why on Earth not take advantage of the baby minding facilities? Whatever happened to Maddie happened because her parents cared more about their own needs than hers. That, in anybody's language, surely is child neglect.

It was a very normal thing to do pre MM. Lots of hotels offered listening services. I used those services a couple of times. My kids were out like a light every night at 7.30 back then and I was still in the building at least. 😂 I don’t think I don’t deserve to have kids because I left them.

The night before MM was crying so badly that the neighbour had a word with the McCanns the following morning, the day of her disappearance. To go ahead and leave the kids again knowing they were distressed was hugely selfish.

Madeleine wasn't seen after 5pm by anyone other than her parents. I think she died shortly after returning from kids club. This would have given the mccanns a far bigger timescale to dispose of her body and get their story straight. I don't think it was planned but she died in that apartment. The mccanns had a good life and had far too much to lose so they disposed of her body and they've carried on their 'show' because it never felt like the right time to shut it down. They have probably convinced themselves of their innocence.
My first instinct back in May 2007 was that she was dead and gone before she was reported missing and her parents made an elaborate cover up.

Nothing since has convinced me that this isn't possibly what did happen.

I haven't read anyone defending their decision to leave the children alone. I think everyone can agree that it was a terrible mistake. but it doesn't lead me to despise them or be convinced that such a lapse in judgement must mean they're killers.

It doesn't make me think they're killers, but it does make me think they're incredibly selfish and negligent and have had every advantage in being affluent and middle class.

Maybe it all happened the day before she went ' missing ' . A child could be carried as if asleep and onlookers would be non the wiser if they were deceased. All hypothetical of course.
Or even a few hours. None of the Tapas 7 have spoken out, and they all closed ranks with with other, which stinks. Regardless of what happened, they're all complicit

I think he's been made an official suspect to keep this case open in Portugal. I still believe she died in the apartment. Her parents need to be interviewed again and all the evidence checked. This case makes absolutely no sense at all and maybe it's about time the British police explain to the public why they are so certain the McCanns are innocent.

There was a wee girl murdered on the Isle Bute - a small island in Scotland

Her grandparents had left their front door unlocked - because they felt they lived in a safe comminity. They were asleep in the house when she was taken.

I got into argument on Twitter when someone suggested that this was the same as the McCanns!!! I thought there's a world of difference between being asleep in your bed and having a booze up in a restrurant!!! I also felt that the wee girls grandparents might not be happy to be associated with the McCanns.

And, yes there were undertones in the trial that they were somehow at fault because they hadn't locked their door.

So I've never understood how the McCanns got a free pass on quite obvious neglect.

It is FACT that they neglected their children several nights running, leaving them in an unlocked apartment whilst they had dinner and got pissed. We can therefore conclude that their priority was not their children's safety.

Surprises me they never were charged for anything for neglect. I do wonder if they had been a couple from a council estate how different they'd have been treated
Totally and imagine going to her as your gp and saying you did what she did. You’d be reported before you got to your car.

'Feeding their bellies was more important than their children'. No you're right, you've been really sympathetic and supportive, my mistake.
I stand by that comment. It is true - their social life and stomachs were more important than their children. That is factual.

I repeat, I have NOT said I hate them or wished them pain and misery so please do not imply I have.
Ignoring your sarcasm, yes it was YOUR mistake as you have obviously found when you looked through my posts, yet no apology.

Just read through all 3 threads! My opinion: first of all no way two doctors accidentally overdosed their kids. Second of all how did they get these drugs into Portugal and not be caught out when the apartment was being searched? Because there’s a big difference between the supposed anaesthetic drugs people are suggesting on here and Calpol. Finally, how would a tourist manage to hide a dead body in a short space of time in a foreign country they didn’t know very well and it never be found in how many years? Like the police searched the apartment and surrounding areas how did nobody find a dead body with the entire of the Algarve on such high alert?
