I like the idea, however it feels wrong to have a conventionally attractive white woman doing it. She has pretty good skin, so I can't imagine it's very empowering to those who have acne, scarring, rosacea or other skin conditions (which don't impact on beauty at all btw) to see her being like 'I'm amazing for showing my bare face, it took SO much courage".

Although whilst typing this, can you imagine how much more 'popular' she'd be if she started all this vapid nonsense about self-love about 4 years earlier? But of course, she wouldn't have done it then, it was trendy to promote skinny teas so that's what she did.
So true! I do agree too many women use filters on their photos these days but it all seems so performative coming from her

so when she came out with her podcast and it was all middle class/posh white women with little to no diversity I was just done with her then. She wants to be seen as being progressive and ~different~ but actually doesn't do the work.

Honestly the podcast really reveals a lot about her, compared to the other two, she’s definitely a lot more pick me and places a lot more value on her looks than she lets off on the grid

Awww I missed all the drama. I just always loved the NOBS group for a bit of escapism as I am a boring married mother now I felt like I could impart wisdom 🤣 It felt like the Handbag.com forums from yesteryear (showing my age there).

Lucy feels very much like she is throwing her toys out of the pram and I worry for her brand now. Removing a captive audience is a tricky move, see Styled By Susie etc

I’m so sad this thread doesn’t have any traction. She’s just so annoying and preachy bUT~ShE~tRiES~tO~dO~iT~In~A~qUIrKY~wAy.

We get it: you can only be an empowered woman if you’re self employed or have your own business. Oh and btw you’re also not empowered if you exercise more during the week when it suits you because really this is you “earning” or justifying your lifestyle choices. Aka if you eat well and exercise in the week but do nothing all weekend apart from eat shit n drink wine - pOoR U u HaVe been infiltrated by diet culture. Lu lu potato face mountain is just too quirky n sassy to be impacted by that. 🙄🙄

Give it a rest. Is this a lucy mountain thread or covid thread? I don't know why the hate towards her so much on covid, we may as well list the hundreds of thousands other people who aren't always wearing a mask then 🤷‍♀️
You just answered your own question? It is a Lucy Mountain thread so people will obviously criticise her here in this space and not those hundreds of thousands of people you mentioned.

She’s a complete “nob” she acts like she’s a strong independent woman, but she tries too hard which makes me think she’s just desperate.

Has anybody tried her app for workouts, I’m a complete beginner at the gym and considering it for the gym guide but wasn’t sure if it’s worth it?
I have her old guides but not app. I hate the idea of subscription based guides because there’s no escape, but I really enjoyed her old gym guides and I’ve reused them so worth it for the one off purchase for me. Think she stopped selling them though when she moved to the app.

She always bugs up these nobs video. The quality is great but it’s exactly the same message as the last one?

Also feel like the world is over wellness stage with the kale smoothies trend, get some new ideas that’s not ground breaking anti diet culture.

I used to enjoy her content but she's now completely unrelatable, and it pains me some of the stuff she posts as it's so pretentious and QuIRky and try hard.

Nah I was actually obsessed with Lucy when I had the app subscription and even then I thought it was awful. I guess it depends on the device, your karma or just good luck how the app works. I remember in the nobs group there’d be people who’d say the app isn’t very good but since we were all Lucy’s fans it was more of a “Hey girl🥺🥺umm… your app is broken… it’s probably just me though”. I did like the exercises and they did make me enjoy working out but I can’t use the exercises if the app crashes twelve times mid workout.
Same here. Can't speak for the Gym Guide on the app as I only used this for Home Workouts, but I'm not 'mad for the sake of being mad' expecting an app I pay for not to glitch out every other exercise; in addition to expecting a lower/upper split on an 'advanced' guide I'm doing four days a week produced by a qualified PT.

Just logging here that Lucy mountain wasn’t wearing a mask in Tesco on her IG stories a few days ago. I personally don’t find that responsible as the virus is still very much present and people remain vulnerable (ie immunocompromised people whose vaccine dose isn’t as effective). Plus she was being quite sanctimonious herself about covid restrictions a few months ago to now be telling her followers it’s fine to ignore sensible habits
She pissed off to Ibiza last year at the height of the pandemic then had her boyfriend over all the time breaking lockdown..totally not shocked.

Tbh I really liked her but now she’s actually really gotten on my nerves and I’ve unfollowed her.
