I think we’re all suffering from confirmation bias of one sort or another. We’re only really ruminating on partial information.
I think it will be much clearer to the Jury.

Just an ‘out there’ thought.

She was arrested multiple times, interviewed. She knew what was being alleged.

In that position, if I was guilty, I think I can say with some amount of certainty that I’d kill myself. If you’re guilty, you know they’ll find evidence and you’ll be the most hated person in a prison.

If you’re innocent, and you have some ‘faith’ in the justice system, you might just stick around to try and clear your name.
If this was the way, sooo many murderers would have killed themselves. You just can't apply this kind of faux logic because it means nothing... she could be a narcissist, she could have tried to commit suicide but failed, she could have been on suicide watch, or she could've thought she'd get away with it

I don’t think the doctors/ nurses not making proper notes mean LL is innocent. If anything it just proves that the ward was a shambles and LL took her chance to harm these babies knowing it would be hard to prove amidst the chaos.

It’s really quite unsettling all these staff involved remember how unusual the skin discolouration was
I do also think this is what adds weight to Professor Arthur's testimony that the air was deliberately administered and not done post mortem or via CPR or because of the long line.

Because I don't think any doctor has said so far that those things can cause the weird blotchiness. If administered air is the only way to get that blotchiness then it must follow that the air found post mortem was administered?

I agree it's not good enough, just personally I don't feel its all on him- much wider issues at play by the sound of it.
Well it's quite obviously not all on him, I don't think anyone would argue that. One thing's for sure, this whole thing is an absolute disgrace and I don't think any of us envy the role of the jury.

He was told not to make a fuss so he didn’t? Really? He thought someone was murdering babies and he did as he was told?
Agreed. I would be fucking furious as a parent if a doctor suspected a nurse of harming babies (even if not to the extent of murder) was told no and just went 'alrighty then'.

It really doesn’t look good that there’s very little documentation, photo evidence or even evidence of it being discussed in police interviews about the unusual mottling patterns.

I believe LL isn't giving evidence in court but does she get to say anything or give any kind of explanations at all?
They will read out her police interviews which I’m personally keen to hear, but I think they will be it unless she testifies.

We've talked about this before but I still stand by if I genuinely believed a nurse was harming babies I'd do anything to try and stop it, barricade the room, shout in the halls till someone listened if needs be. Just saying it's a difficult culture or what can you do isn't good enough. Yes it may be hard, bloody awful infact but this is the lives of babies on the line here?

You really have no idea how gaslight-y the culture in the NHS is. I’m not excusing this consultant completely but it’s difficult to stand strong when you are being gaslit into believing you are being unreasonable by wanting to give patients good care and not harm them. The culture in certain NHS trusts (not all, mostly the failing ones) grounds you down and down until you feel hopeless. It’s part of the reason I left patient facing roles.

Why do people think she’d give a fuck about reducing the families pain..

Just wanted to give my point on that, maybe myself and others think that because we think as normal people not baby murderers. Maybe because we think rationally, just my view that’s all. 😊
Normal, rational people aren't baby murderers. You can't equate what you would do, to what she would do, because you wouldn't have murdered the babies in the first place. If she is guilty, why do you think she'd suddenly develop a conscience after something so coldblooded? Like yeah I'll murder your child and irreparably break your heart forever, but don't worry, I'll save you some pain and admit to it? Makes no sense. People usually only do that when they have something to gain i.e. reduced sentence, she doesn't.

I agree. But it’s like a previous poster said if she is a serial killer she won’t think that way

“Earlier on the shift, a cannula to a blood vessel stopped working, followed by two failed attempts to correctly insert a catheter in the belly button.

Prof Arthurs told the court it was “possible” that gas could have been introduced by one of those above devices”

this is what we were talking about yesterday
He then goes on to say

Mr Johnson asked: "Have you ever seen this much gas in a baby that has not been explained?" to which Dr Arthurs replied: "Only in one other case."

So it's not just the presence of gas but the amount of gas and where that is unusual. Hard to decipher without the court transcripts but that reads to me like him saying that gas can be explained in the abdomen by the catheter, but it's the amount of gas, the presence of gas by the spine base that made him conclude it was administered.

We’re still at the very start of the trial with so much more to come that I am staying neutral and analysing less. I can think one thing then days later a new picture is painted so it feels better to wait to see the whole story.

If it was a man I would more likely feel he's guilty but I question men who get jobs centered around children anyway. Dont come for me. I feel how I feel and everyone will deal. ❤
not coming for you at all but that is such a sad view on males working in care, teaching or anything like that! I'm not in the UK anymore but I'm in HK and so many of the male teachers, nurses, care workers are so amazing but they are so scared to even apply and try for these jobs because of this mentality!

I've caught up with all the trial evidence, and for what it's worth, my minimal contribution to the thread is that I'm still absolutely not convinced of LL's guilt.

Sometimes on this thread I feel like I can’t explain myself properly and it’s always taken wrong. I think we have crossed wires what I was trying to say so don’t worry 😊 but the first bit of what you said is what I was trying to say basically
