She still not waived legal privilege then?
Until she does, the truthers are pissing in the wind.

Phil Hammond in particular should know better and needs to take a long hard look at himself.

I'm watching conviction now. They are just repeating a whole of crap that was debunked months ago. There is a lot about baby O, stating that the needle to the abdomen caused the death.

I was surprised to see Merlot Mark made a brief appearance ranting about Dr Evans.

Jeez, really. Talk about scraping the barrel. They would have probably had most of us one if we applied. Did he look pissed?

Yes, it was just a clip from YouTube. They didn't send a camera crew to film him making a cup of tea in his kitchen.

This was clearly shot months and and has really aged badly. It's not as if Letby is even using that Baby O report - never mind Dr Taylor's interpretation of it which even the defence now say is wrong. Then we've now got Neena Modi agreeing with Dewi that the babies did experience air embolism. The "counsellor told her to write it" story is also long gone. It's last year's arguments.

I didn’t watch it as knew it would be biased so no point.
What I want to watch on the news is her getting charged again, the 3 managers up in court and Dr Noname being sacked.
Although if I never hear her name mentioned again that would be good too and I am sure all the grieving parents feel the same.

The issue is: the film presents these debunked theories as new facts. The insulin babies were quickly pushed aside with MM being informed of the QA error proving the tests unreliable. This wasn't then mentioned again - although Liz Hull did explain about baby O's liver. This makes it seem to any uninformed viewers that this is gearing up to be a big miscarriage of justice.

The last one they did was full of praise for Matlin PR's ITV documentary while very critical of Panorama - making great play of the stats they got wrong and corrected. But this time it's more sensible. Some key points

- The reason Letby called no experts can only have been that they would have been "dangerous" to her case
- Dr Hall underplayed the extent of the damage that calling him would cause to Letby's defence.
- The Court of Appeal would be concerned about "Dr Hall's intervention" - this wasn't expanded on
- If Letby never waives privilege then that "tells it's own story"
Oh I missed the one where they talk about the tv episodes. I can see it was in the summer hols when I don’t get chance to listen to podcasts. So I’ll listen on the school run later.

I didn't watch it either, as I didn't particularly want to listen to either Mark McDonald or Dewi Evans !! I may catch up on it some time.
I'm interested to know why you WANT there to be more charges, as that would obviously mean she had harmed more babies.

Nobody wants that I can assure you, that’s ridiculous.

We want the people who allowed these abhorrent crimes to take place right under their noses be made accountable and punished.

I want there to be more charges. Not because I want more babies to have been harmed, but because I believe baby A wasn’t the first baby she attacked. And if she has harmed other babies, those families deserve justice too.

There were things she said and did about her time at LWH that came up in the first trial that raise serious red flags. And I hope the police find enough evidence to charge her for it.

The police believe she harmed or killed more babies. It's up to the CPS to decide if there is enough evidence to prosecute. The health outcome for the babies is already determined - more charges won't change that.

The full truth about what Letby did needs to come out. Not that I think it will stop the Truthers thinking she innocent but it will give the complete picture and hopefully stop the general public being bombarded with documentaries and newspaper articles making a murderer into a victim.

Did anyone watch the channel 4 murder or mistake
Yes and I must say, although I think there is a high probability that she is totally guilty, I didn’t find Dewi very convincing at all. Not that he’s lying but maybe he isn’t as qualified as an expert as originally thought. BUT, I think MM has his own agenda, ie, fame. Am undecided on the Private Eye guy. The main reasons I think she is guilty are: the notes, the hoarded handover sheets, the Facebook searches, the weirdness around the parents and the hunch of the staff/consultants. No concrete evidence with any of this but it just seems too much of a coincidence that so many babies died when she was on duty. Also, can’t remember all the details but there was loads of dodgy stuff about falsifying documents. I still think guilty.

The Private Eye guy, is strongly pushing her innocence to sell articles and for fame. He's written load of articles about her.

The strongest evidence of deliberate harm is in the insulin/c peptide tests which prove poisoning. Baby O had a ruptured liver caused by multiple impact injuries. The radiologist found evidence of air in some of the baby's blood vessels. There is also strong evidence in the witness testimonies. There is so much more to the case then was explored in the documentary and so many more medical professionals involved then just Dr Evans.

The thing with Dewi is the defence went after him at the trial and then again at the appeal. She was still found guilty by the jury and the conviction upheld. There's no point going after him now - that horse has bolted.

You are right about the "dodgy stuff". The Court of Appeal described it: "She created, it was alleged, false entries on certain documents to hide her activities, to provide her with an alibi or lay the ground for invented explanations".
