So many bizarre people out there. Let’s all just do away with the court system and stick a guilty/not guilty poll on social media in the future…it’s all madness. She’s so guilty

One day last week my local paper ran a story about Letby. It was essentially the Karen Rees story claiming her innocence and they ran it a day or two after it had been in the national paper. Must have been a slow news day for the local paper and they were trying to find additional stories. Anyway I couldn't believe the vast number of comments claiming a miscarriage of justice and a really small number saying she was guilty. Not only that there were huge numbers of likes for the miscarriage comments and a small number of likes for the guilty comments. There's no way all these people living in a relatively small geographical area can know much about the evidence and trial and yet because of the highly publicised 14 experts so many people have come to this conclusion. I feel quite sickened by this. It makes me think McDonald shouldn't have been allowed to do what he did in this public way. Yes he should be allowed to take the appeal to the CCRC but in a private way. If in the future there was another trial how can it be fair with so many uninformed people with already strongly formed opinions. I hope it never gets to that. All these people have totally disregarded the highly qualified expert witnesses at the trial and seem to think the 14 hand picked witnesses by Lee are far more expert. It's disgusting the tactics that McDonald has deliberately used to influence the public through the media and social media, probably as much for his own personal agenda. The Cheshire police must feel very frustrated after years of gathering evidence and all this must be torture for the families. I hope the police are giving good support to them.

Someone said on Mumsnet that ‘when’ she is freed there should be a bronze statue of LL in the foyer of every hospital in all the land to remind us of the gross miscarriage of justice.

I mean how the Christ do you reason with imbeciles like that.

It’ll be a cold day in hell before that happens. They’re all bleeping barking.

Someone on websleuths has suggested that Letby was an asymptomatic carrier of a bacteria passed on through her cats which may have killed the babies.

They are actually really good on websleuths. The regular posters all know she is guilty as duck but there's some complete oddballs that have cropped up lately. It seems to be a common theme on the socials.

The problem is that most people don't bother to read past the headlines and most journalists (with the exception of few such as Liz Hull) report what is being puported as fact and don't bother to fact check and challenge what is being said. They just trust that these 14 so called experts know what they are talking about without checking their credentials or questioning their agenda.

When so called trusted new organisations like the BBC are reporting this as fact people who are ignorant of facts will just presume it is true.

Dr B must have felt so much relief speaking to Dr Gilby. But now he’s back to a situation where a number of loud voices don’t believe him again and actually want to vilify him. It must be a living nightmare for him.

The press conferences might remind the general public of the covid government announcements, when important updates on a national crisis were given. Most of the public trust doctors and medical experts. I've been shocked at the lies and deception that Mark Mcdonald and friends have unleashed in their reports.

The way Dr Brearey has been treated is disgusting. Both by the hospital managers and the first press conference.

i am being a bit thick here. So correct me but the insulin cases that Geoff says are perfectly normal in neonates.
surely this would be easy to prove in others. It isn't like air and tge babies survived. So surely there must be loads of babies with this low readings under 2.6 with the same symptoms. If perfectly normal.
What I mean is. Unlike air this would be easier to prove.

One of the consultants, possibly Dr Brearey, mentioned low blood sugars in premature babies and said its actually rare as they are managing the sugar intake for them. Chase said in the report that they have done studies where babies have been given too much insulin, although not sure if he referenced them.

The insulin poisonings is easy to prove. They were definitely poisoned.
