How can McDick assert with such confidence that this is *new* evidence when he has no bleeping idea what evidence his client had at the original trial because she won’t let him find out.

Why would someone innocent withhold information from her own bloody lawyer.
I was thinking about this the other day and the only explanation I can come up with is that she is enjoying this and it’s all a game.

I already thought she was (or definitely displays) some narcissistic personality traits and thriving on drama is absolutely up there. That extends to not only the drama she was causing on the ward but also during the trial and now afterwards.

If you were genuinely innocent and you thought the previous counsel ducked up your entire defence, you would absolutely give your new legal team access to EVERYTHING because they’d also want to be looking to make sure due process was followed (hence why I got twitchy at the mention of disclosure before).

She knows none of this stuff is new evidence, she knows all of these alternatives were considered at the previous trial by her previous defence team…she just enjoys the thought of being the focus of attention, she’ll be loving the media reports and the ‘fans’ and also be enjoying the fact that this is amplifying the parent’s grief…she’ll be fantasising about how they’re doing/what they’re posting on socials etc because that’s exactly what she did after she murdered their precious babies.

The only conclusion I can come to why someone wouldn’t be transparent and open with their new legal team if they were 100% innocent is because she knows she is guilty

Yeah I was thinking surely she would waiver privilege if its her only chance of appeal? Surely she would do anything?

She hasn’t even had to do any work on this. She had the early ‘she’s innocent’ adopters fight her corner from the start and if Sarrita is to believed then Dimitrova got McDick involved and we all know how much he loves a CCRC / healthcare serial killer case. She can just sit back, let everyone else do the work and watch the show. She must be laughing at them surely?!

I agree if you were innocent you would want your new lawyer to know everything, to pick apart everything that happened with your original defence and see what errors of law may have taken place or what gaps in evidence there were for the defence. I wonder if McDick even knows the names of every expert Myers consulted.

He won’t know Toff - he’s in the dark as much as the next person.
This whole thing utterly reeks.
The only people who truly know the evidence are her legal team from the first trials and they are barred from ever speaking of it unless she gives the go ahead.
She’s as guilty as sin and enjoying every second of this hideous pantomime.

Poor counsel would be a very good ground for appeal. If her counsel's advice was not to call witnesses who would have provided exculpatory evidence then that is a slam-dunk reason to believe the convictions could be unsafe.
So
Either it was her own decision against the advice of counsel not to call her expert witnesses
Or
The expert witnesses under cross would not have been able to provide exculpatory evidence.

In either case she doesn't want anyone to know

The expert panel report is so disrespectfully written, baby L and F are often confused with each other. Baby F is reported as having C peptide/ insulin of 0.2 which was baby L's result. Baby L is referred to as " Baby F" on his report. Chase gives no reference to the studies proving that high insulin low c peptide are normal for pre term infants. Wonder if the full report has as many errors?

Just listened to the podcast. What a disgrace. I see some if the letybists are moaning about Hull. I thought she was calm and more professional than little Mac.

As an aside does anyone know the next two big cases they are covering? Is it Erin Patterson? Who is the other?

How many absolute meltdowns you think there will be from her freak cult when this latest pathetic attempt for an appeal gets laughed out of court?

If the CCRC reject it then I wish I could get a £1 for every time they will mention Andrew Malkinson in response.

Imagine how much you would have now if it was £1 for every time they mentioned scapegoat

The CCRC will be another member of the gang of 100000 trying scapegoat an innocent nurse to cover up NHS failings 🤪

For sure. Let's not forget that Tony Chambers organized a public inquiry that made him look like a scandalously incompetent bully who protected a serial killer, and an investigation into possible corporate manslaughter as regards senior leaders of his hospital....

...all to ensure he would be the last person in the world anyone would suspect as having scapegoated poor innocent Lucy Letby. If he is clever enough to do all that, knocking over the CCRC will be a breeze.

On X, Dr Dimitrova has waded in with her expert report on hon the ow the insulin evidence was wrong.

Baby F did have a low blood glucose level at the time of the test. The machine measuring the C peptide showed it to be too low to be detected. So I'm not sure why she thinks he didn't satisfy the criteria? I don't know where the criteria came from? Was it from a reputable source or did the defence make it up?
Dr Dimitrova is not credited on the report summary. I wonder why?

Guys is everyone still okay … 🩷
Yes it’s lovely and quiet finally isn’t it? Wonder how long it will last because they won’t like people forgetting about it. It must be hard for the families not knowing when the next stunt will take place.

Meanwhile though we get on with our lives and Letby is still locked up forever. As it should be.

So true Angel, let’s hope the families can have some peace … for a little while at least🩷🩷

Panicked I had lost you all or a new thread 💕

I’m good thank you 💕
I am glad when it’s quiet as it means her rit “ legal “ team are not pulling cheap insensitive stunts for the media.
It will all start up again soon enough when she’s most likely charged again.

Have kept looking in. No news is good news, as far as the status quo is concerned. Don't say much because everyone else is voicing the things I believe (except for the rare dissenter!) and some of you are far more informed. But I do value the updates and information, and thanks for that. I hope the families are being reassured, despite all the showmanship and shenanigans perpetrated by the angsty (but loud!) minority.
