Just been listening to ‘the managers’ podcast from the mail. They shared the audio to this bit with Sue H. I love how stern the KCs get with them.

And of course he’s right, utterly reprehensible

Chambers says that he wants to say something before his evidence begins.

He takes a long, deep, breath and says: “So… right at the outset I just want to offer my heartfelt condolences to all of the families whose babies are at the heart of this inquiry."

"I can only imagine… well, I can’t imagine, the impact that this has had on your lives, and I am truly sorry for the pain that may have been prolonged by any decisions or actions that I took in good faith," he says.

"I am very grateful to have this opportunity to take part, openly and honestly in this inquiry and hope that answers can be arrived at and recommendations made.”

i know where I would want to shove his apology if I was the parents

Momentum building for her case to be re opened. I hope it doesn’t take years like so many other cases!
There's no momentum. A few weirdos on twitter saying she's innocent doesn't actually make her innocent. She killed those babies and she will never get out

My blood pressure is being done no favours by this shitshow of a week. Jesus Christ. I hope the KC for the families rips into him tomorrow morning.

It's sickening that he took that stance in response to being told that the consultants were right. But I'm guessing he's been advised to say as he has, in the face of any further legal action against him. If he never admits she did it then he never admits liability.

All of them are just absolute scum, scattering to save themselves and torturing the families further. 😡😡😡 I'm so angry!

Kelly accused of lying to mother of murdered babypublished at 17:00
17:00

Nick Garnett
Reporting from the inquiry

Baker then talks about a meeting one of the mothers of the murdered babies said she had with Kelly in July 2016.

“You were aware that concerns had been raised about the conduct of Lucy Letby and were aware of a number of reports being launched by the hospital. Do you remember meeting the mother of Child C?” He asks.

“I have reflected on this,” says Kelly. “I’m not saying the meeting didn’t take place but I don’t recall meeting the parents of any babies at that time.”

The mother had read an article in a local newspaper about an investigation that had been launched into the number of deaths on the neonatal unit.

At the meeting, the mother says she was told the investigation was “more of a formality". Mr Baker says Mother C was pregnant at the time, her previous child had died, murdered by Letby.

He tells the inquiry the mother remembers the meeting fully and says what she was told at the time was not the whole truth and that details of where the investigations were up to were incomplete.

“You lied to her,” says Baker.

“I don’t recall that meeting, honestly,” she replies.

“I can’t imagine any of the families wanted to be lied to,” says Baker.

And to add to the above discussion don’t forget she was such a miraculous birth herself and told her friends (and probably anyone who’d listen) about that. Still think she had attention seeking/munchie/factitious disorder tendencies with the eye, thyroid and knee stuff. How she went on about her needle prick after two triplets just died. She obviously went on to Noname about her anxiety, insomnia and depression. House full of commodes 😵💫
Little miss normal had a lot more going on than anyone realised.

Sorry to go back again and this may have already been shared but I hadn’t realised one of the family lawyers gets Brearey to explicitly state that he thinks she killed/assaulted babies at CoCH prior to June 2015.

She’s a liar. A fucking liar. She would absolutely remember this meeting even if not the specifics said.

What a load of rubbish. Relies on her team to flag concerns. That's bollocks, as well as throwing her team under the bus. She's the one raking in the huge salary, the buck stops with her.
And they did flag concerns. Multiple times. And by her own admission she did nothing.

I think she was doing things to hurt the babies a lot of the time but the harm done varied.

I think she should definitely face charges for the third insulin baby and retrials for babies H, J and Q.

Given the scale of Operation Hummingbird, its laugable that TC and IH thought Jane Hawdon could get to the bottom of it in a single weekend.

This article in the times reveals more details of two of the cases that are being investigated from Liverpool Women's hospital from October & November 2012.

"Among the cases at Liverpool that Cheshire police has asked expert medical witnesses to examine is the case of one baby born in October 2012. Medical notes reviewed by the experts record that the baby’s chest drain was dislodged once on October 26, twice on October 27 and once on October 29. The child’s breathing tube also fell out on October 29. Letby was on duty on all the days."

"In another case examined by the expert witnesses, a premature baby born at Liverpool collapsed in November 2012 after water from the ventilator circuit went down the baby’s endotracheal tube. The experts concluded that the reason for the presence of water in the tube was unexplained. Letby was again on duty."

This is clearly an unsafe conviction that needs looking at again. This is a young women’s like we’re talking about.
No amount of feeling sorry for the parents overrules that!
I might be in a minority of one on here, but this is a bit of an echo chamber really.

I, along with a growing number of people, sincerely hope she gets the case reopened, just like many people before her have, who have been wrongly convicted.
I just hope it doesn’t drag on for years!
Nothing more to say on this. Over and out!

Can you explain why you think this way please?
which bits of the evidence in the 10 month trial has made you think this?

there is a great wiki on here that you can reference but I would love to hear specifically the evidence that were presented during the trial that has contributed to your doubt of her convictions please?

I imagine that like Shipman they'll just add it to her kill count. He was only convicted of 15, they ended up confirming 284.
Hello! Nice to see your name pop up 🤗
I think you could be right but maybe one possible difference could be if there are living victims with complications. 33% of her shift at LWH had “life threatening incidents” (that’s staggering 😵💫) so what if some of those poor babies are left with brain damage, learning disabilities or physical disabilities like the babies in the first indictment 😔
I am guessing they couldn’t pursue claims if she’s not found guilty and some of them might need care like baby G. I can’t imagine how they must feel waiting all this time and knowing there might not be justice for their child. Hopefully some comfort that she’s never getting out of prison but not sure that would be enough for me 💔

Read too quick, whilst sat waiting for a child to go sleep - was like “as if fucking Joe Swash is popping up in defence of her”
---

I am coming close to muting him, it’s getting incredibly tedious - esp his obsession with the Deb lady and who she is 🥲
He’s obsessed with Deb Roberts because she dares to challenge him when he hasn’t done his homework. Ironic that he complains about his perceived principles of free speech then blocks and bullies when he’s challenged on facts and details on a SM platform..
It is also laughable that he complains about his (incorrectly) perceived view that he can’t write about Letby if there are more charges. Meanwhile the Police and CPS have to follow strict guidelines and laws to protect the justice process that he claims he is a defender of, yet these rules don't apply to him as a journo and he can "almost" write what the hell he wants unchallenged. Now he has stepped over the "almost" line and had a metaphorical clip round the ear, he's whining like a spoilt kid about his rights. For some reason thinks he’s a champion of the people and defender of the justice process. Ironically he has also been writing about how weak the Police are recently, yet here he is moaning they are being heavy handed with him.
He is full of double standards and you don’t have to read much of his work to see the repeated inconsistencies in his principles and views. He’s basically just spewing out as much content as possible for clicks behind his paywall. This pathetic high brow pretence that he doesn’t have a view on Letby's innocence but doesn’t think she had a fair trial is also BS. Ponder this. He is clearly flying some sort of anti establishment flag on this one. He is, paraphrasing his words, not fighting to prove Letby innocent but fighting for a re-trial because he believes she didn't reach the threshold for "beyond reasonable doubt". So, that means, under current British Law, NOT GUILTY. He is trying to disassociate a Not Guilty verdict with guilt or innocence. He is therefore in essence admitting that he is fighting to uphold the establishments definition of justice, not the moral definition of justice, ie criminals get caught, do the time etc. So he's fighting the establishment to uphold an establishment principle. He is also by default saying he doesn't really care whether Letby is guilty or innocent or care if the victims of the crimes get justice.
---
.....whilst I'm venting there's another thing I need to get off my chest.....
Posts from various Letby supporters saying things like:
"If I were a parent Id just want the truth" ....or "If I were a parent Id be thinking X, Y, Z", or " the parents deserve the truth"

This demonstrates a total and utter lack of understanding and empathy about victims of crime in general going through the appeal courts. If a very complex CCRC review created a scenario where the Appeal courts heard cases and reasonable doubt were brought in any or all of the cases then why on earth do people think this would "answer questions" or bring "the truth"? What an utterly ludicrous and brainless conclusion to reach. The Trial and Thirlwall Inquiry has proved a number of things beyond reasonable doubt

- Almost nobody looking at the death and collapses was working with a full picture and almost every report had different outcomes
- Circumstances around deaths were manipulated to direct the reports away from harm
- Some collapses weren't investigated at all at the time
- Many were badly followed up
- Even after forensic review, no medical reasons could be proven in multiple cases, despite what Adams, Vinuesa, etc dream up as causes.

Any appeal for Letby would be based on creating a confused enough picture to create reasonable doubt. That is a million miles away from innocence. It might make her "not guilty". How on earth do these people think that the parents will react? They seem to think they will suddenly go "Well that's cleared that up. That poor girl who searched me on facebook was actually a wonderful nurse after all. We may be even more confused about how or why our babies died and we will never know now because the whole thing is an utter shit show but lets have Lucy and John and Susan round for tea and maybe get toxic Chris round and that Hitchens chap because they are the REAL victims in all this"

Im going for a lie down

You absolutely can but will be asked to elaborate as to which bits of evidence presented in the 10 month trial make you think that way.

The other poster never replied so would you like to explain which bits of evidence presented during the 10 month trial make you believe she’s is innocent?
Let’s find out which variety of butterfly wanker someone is-
Is it
A) antiestablishment thicko

SewAgE on Hedz
NurSes takE fIngZ home all the tiMe
My Nan had shit care so Letby is innosent
I have a sad pathetic life and this has given me something to do and to belong to

B) faux intellectual oddball

Have you never heard of (insert statistical theory with zero relevance to the case) you simpleton

You haven’t read the actual experts evidence - translates loosely from incel nerd into: I fell for a load of junk science from certified nutjob Sarrita Adams and Loony nurse fapper Gill and have read the New Yorker but followed no evidence from the trial.

C) beige serial baby killers is my type
I have a fetish for big chinned bang average nurses that I think might shag me it I shout on the internet about her

The apologising in "the presence of the parents" of LL is so indicative to me of LL's need to be seen by them in a certain light. She wanted them to see her fully exonerated and then grovelled to by consultants and senior leaders. She manipulates everybody.

In turn they have to be involved because they can't let their adult daughter manage her own life and stand on her own two feet. Such an unhealthy dynamic. I find it so odd that they put her getting her degree as an announcement in the paper. Is it a need to have everyone see how brilliant their daughter is and that fed into the need to be involved and get everyone seeing LL in a good light again at the hospital?
---
And it's written in black and white there, LL asking for evidence they have gathered. WHY WOULD THEY HAVE EVIDENCE AGAINST YOU IF YOU HADNT DONE ANYTHING!!!! She slips up like this so many times, "if they have little on me they'll look silly, not me" and no one she says it to seems to pick up on it.
