If he felt threatened by Lucy's parents why didn't he just ban them from the meetings? Lucy could bring HC or Bergerac for support.
Exactly! As a chief executive he really should have much bigger balls than that, deary me!

There's definitely some kind of organised line being told about not having enough information, did our best at the time with what we had etc etc.
the fact remains that there was a massive spike in baby deaths, and all they seem to have done is run around after Lucy so she wouldn't be sad and her dad wouldn't be angry and they wouldn't get bad publicity, rather than ACTUALLY FUCKING INVESTIGATE PROPERLY WHY ALL THESE BABIES WERE DYING. Even if it wasn't deliberate harm, something was going very badly wrong with that unit - there should have been a rocket up everyone's arse to figure out what was going wrong and rectify it, not keep kicking the can down the road to another review, another meeting. Five weeks to bring in the cops once they'd agreed there was a serious issue. give me fucking strength
Jesus christ, it's crazy-making.

This is clearly an unsafe conviction that needs looking at again. This is a young women’s like we’re talking about.
No amount of feeling sorry for the parents overrules that!
I might be in a minority of one on here, but this is a bit of an echo chamber really.

I, along with a growing number of people, sincerely hope she gets the case reopened, just like many people before her have, who have been wrongly convicted.
I just hope it doesn’t drag on for years!
Nothing more to say on this. Over and out!
There's no clearly about it. All McDonald and his sidekick actually did was to misinterpret some of the data (insulin) and make it obvious they hadn't had sight of any of the evidence. You believe in him if you want to, obviously you find bullshitters easier to believe but you need to understand that there is no MoJ, Letby did kill those babies and she will never be released.

Hi wrongfelladellas, I hope you're all doing well. I’ve been following the updates closely, but every day this Inquiry leaves me feeling sick to my core. The sheer injustice of it all: the lies, the cover ups, the blatant failures, it’s infuriating, sickening and heartbreaking in equal measure. It’s hard to put into words how deeply unsettling it is to see how many people turned a blind eye to Letby’s crimes.

Anyway, I'm attending the Inquiry tomorrow/Thursday with @Cack_Conroe and our trial friend we met in Manchester CC. Are any other tattlers planning to go?

Ps, still got our lovely ♥ BNE ♥ as my profile pic, can't bear to change it 😂 x

The word ‘recall’ appears 109 times in AK’s transcript.

Maybe she should see a doctor about that.

looks like the stage is being set for corporate charges
What a load of rubbish. Relies on her team to flag concerns. That's bollocks, as well as throwing her team under the bus. She's the one raking in the huge salary, the buck stops with her.

I read that she was only allowed to go to Alderhey on the condition she had no patient contact and was with Dr Noname at all times.
Thanks. What worries me is that it ended up happening anyway. She manipulates everybody so it wouldn't shock me at all if she somehow managed to get to be around patients unsupervised tbh. Nothing would shock me about the NHS now. I really hope for the sake of the parents with babies at Alder Hey at the time that it can be definitively confirmed that she did not have patient contact.

I am sick of hearing from these people, "they were coming to us with a gut feeling; there was no evidence being brought". YES THERE WAS.

I am finding it hard to put into words just how sickening this all is. We're supposed to have a public service that we can entrust to care for us and our families; and you've got executives and LL's own parents riding roughshod over the whole ethos of the NHS. It makes me absolutely furious.

What an absolute arsehole this man is. He is basically just a shameless attention seeker. Is there actually any new takeaways here other than the fact he wants another go at the court of appeal.

How dare he mention the families like that as well. They deserve a final resolution he's says.
What the actual fuck. He doesn't speak for them. They already have a final resolution. Who does he think he is.

Wasn't Dr Oliver Rackham the doctor from Liverpool Women's hospital who tried to save baby P and according to Dr Noname was singing Letbys praises (probs never happened). It will interesting to hear from him.
oh my word Oliver Rackham was heavily involved in my baby’s care. I really rated him.

People argued with the mother of one of the Moors murders victims that Hindley wasn't involved in her daughter's death. Her mum had to say she'd heard the tape made and Hindley's voice was on it, but still people argued with her saying she was wrong. This was in the late 70s or 80s when people were still defending Hindley, claiming her involvement was peripheral and she deserved to be released from prison. I think Letby supporters will go on for decades.

For my sins decided to endure their press conference in full.

Firstly has anyone checked on Perer Elston and colleagues as nobody asked him about statistics. He didn’t speak at all. Hope he’s ok 💔

Mark McDick does say they are submitting the application to appeal this week. He has a draft ready.

He says it will be a single judge who will decide if they will allow the court of appeal to reopen it. I presume this will be the same as earlier applications that if the single judge says no then they can still request permission directly with the appeal court.

Reporter: “and do the judges know this is happening”
MMcD “they do now”
Lots of laughs, because it’s hilarious isn’t it?

He also says they are making an application to the CCRC at the same time with the two reports and that’s a long process.

I understand now that it’s Dr Svilena Dimitriova and Dr Neil Aiton who are working on the official reports that will go before a judge (they hope) and they were not making further statements which is why he got Richard Taylor and Roger Norwich up instead. And their opinions seem based entirely on the reports from the defence and their previous interpretation of what was reported from trial. I think McDick thought they would help him answer clinical questions but I’d be surprised if he uses them again, especially Taylor who seemed to go completely off script with his accusations against Dr B, his profile of serial killers (Letby had nothing in her history and he friends are shocked)

Roger, retired paediatrian, then goes on to claim - Dr Evans has broken criminal procedure rules. What credentials has he got in law to assert that view? He says Dr E would not be moved on his view. Except the whole basis of their complaint is that he did? Make it make sense.
Also claiming Dr E “worked with police creating theories” again just parroting absolute nonsense

All of them kept saying it’s unprecedented the amount of doctors/professionals coming forward to help them - but the whole case is fucking unprecedented isn’t it? Honestly you have the Letby case itself but i think the aftermath will become a case to study in itself for years to come.

Taylor blew my mind the most. I actually wonder if he’s ever spoken to the media directly before. He was not cautious about what he said at all (in terms of accusations - even McD had the sense to say you won’t hear me criticise the trial defence team because he knows it wouldn’t be a good look) and he completely confused the media with saying the insulin tests were ‘contaminated’ and results were ‘suspicious’. It’s clear from his stance what he meant by that was the blood sample was unreliable and the results were so obscure (his view) it was suspiciously inaccurate. But his poor communication meant the press had to clarify with him more than once if he was saying deliberately contaminated and criminally suspicious.

He also aserts you would expect air from air embolism to still be present on xray. But then says he’s not seen the X-rays 🫠 But must be large enough amount of air for it to cause harm. Whether the baby recovered or died it would show a large amount on xray . So he’s already decided the X-rays didn’t show enough air for it to be air embolism. When he hasn’t even seen them.

Finally my favourite thing he said and I quote
“The insulin result was ridiculously high. Obviously something suspicious about it”

You don’t say 🫠

Chambers says that Letby's father was "very angry" and "he was making threats" at their meeting in December 2016. He adds that "he was threatening guns to my head."

Chambers acknowledges that he might not have gotten the handling of the meeting right, adding that he was just trying to "take the heat out of the situation" with Letby's father.

Wow.
I would have thought making threats would be a police matter

Wouldn't completely surprise me if we ever found out they edited or even wrote the statement!
I keep debating myself what prompted Mark McDick to call this press conference today. Because even for them it seems premature. It has crossed my mind if the Letbys x 3 insisted Letby had a voice following the close of the inquiry for Xmas (surely no coincidence) where Mark
mcDick has said he’s not been allowed to represent her at the inquiry, and he’s also said similar following the latest police interviews.

I do go back to this might be a co-ordinated PR campaign where they now plan on every X weeks dripping things like this to the press to make headlines and keep doubt over Letby in the minds of those that support her, in the hope to pressure the courts.

Or what someone said yesterday about possible charges coming up. Once she is charged again, there will be media restrictions in place and so they are getting out whatever they can now before that happens.

Maybe it’s a combination of all of it.

I would absolutely LOVE to see her charged again (because I’m absolutely convinced she will have harmed other babies even though i wish she hadn’t and I would want to see justice for them) but I’m feeling a little pessimistic about it due to difficulty with complex evidence and also if they think she would get a fair trial anyway when there has been so much public discussion about her convictions.
