Quick thoughts before today starts:

Tony Chambers is an absolute abomination. I honesty think he has diagnosable narcissistic personality disorder. Coming straight afterwards, Ian Harvey was bound to look sympathetic by simply being normal!

I think Ian Harvey has studied Tony Chambers and Alison Kelly and learned how to not look like a total cunt. Hence giving a half-decent apology, trying to answer questions directly, not pretending he was too important to do his own job etc.

But he had his moments. Twice he rudely refused point blank to give any answer, Letby style. There was also a lot of I don’t recalls, and pretending to not answer the questions.

He was happily launching the consultants under the bus for missing the insulin babies, and for not telling him about Baby K.

He stubbornly refused to listen to the barristers point that all the reviews they commissioned were categorically not designed and not likely to find wrongdoing.

Ian Harvey stubbornly kept saying that the reviews should have found *something*. He kept saying ut should have found the insulin babies - missing the point that as non-forensic investigations the reviews were limited to things that were known about. The insulin victims didn’t even collapse! No wonder they weren’t reviewed.

And the little that the reviews did find (like Jane Hawdon saying four babies needed forensic investigation), he still treated it as no evidence of Lucy doing harm.

I wasn’t sure if Ian Harvey is truly as ignorant as he seems (bearing in mind he was a surgeon!) or cleverly putting on a realistic show of ignorance.

But a lady who knows him sitting next to me has just confirmed Ian Harvey is a nasty arrogant prick who is just making himself look good. So I suspect he’s just very good at answering the questions and making himself look as reasonable as possible. He’s much more intelligent than the other cunts.

I agree. IH in all the documentary evidence and others verbal evidence comes across as a grade A cunt. Because he is. Tony Nigel Chambers is a cognitively challenged, egotistical Grade A cunt (and Smelly Kelly seemed be suffering from a bit of brain fog too), but Harvey is a calculated Grade A cunt. He is just a better communicator verbally than the others - anyone who can order 'all emails to cease' about people whistleblowing a serial killer is a dick. I have had 28 jobs in my time from working in Superdrug to a Band 8a in the NHS and nobody, customer, colleague or stakeholder has ever told me to 'cease'. It's a terrible thing to order and very unprofessional.
---
I truly do not understand why they all just uncritically accepted the involvement of Mummy and Daddy Letby. HR and the unions should have been waving those red flags all over the place that it's not normal. There's clear enmeshment going on it that family and it would make me back off, anyone who lets their parents get involved in their work life to that level has not got a healthy psychological landscape and has most likely got an arrested development. It's totally bonkers how they all fell for it. The Letby's being disappointed and challenging the Chief Exec that their letter didn't get read out in the Board meeting is saying how fucked up they and their serial killer daughter really are.

These people are batshit. Surely even the most delusional parent in the land would grasp that a person cannot work in healthcare whilst they are being investigated by the police under suspicion of harming/killing. If that was your kid and you thought they were innocent you’d just be glad they were on full pay, at home where you can keep an eye on them, and focusing on keeping their name out of the media, not going back to effing work!

Sounds like Baby O was killed by an incompetent doctor.

"If this had happened to me, I'd be unable to sleep at night knowing that what I had done had led to the death of a baby and now there is a nurse in jail." Neonatologist Dr Richard Taylor discusses a report he says he's read about Baby O.
No he wasnt. This is a completely unsubstantiated claim, Taylor even admits that he hasn't seen any of the medical records and this was disproven by a forensic pathologist during the original trial. It is appalling that he has been given a platform to spout defamatory comments without scrutiny. I hope the Dr takes legal action.

This is clearly an unsafe conviction that needs looking at again. This is a young women’s like we’re talking about.
No amount of feeling sorry for the parents overrules that!
I might be in a minority of one on here, but this is a bit of an echo chamber really.

I, along with a growing number of people, sincerely hope she gets the case reopened, just like many people before her have, who have been wrongly convicted.
I just hope it doesn’t drag on for years!
Nothing more to say on this. Over and out!

You have to have a certain thickness of skin and delusional thinking to be able sit there and pat yourself on the back for doing a good job after enabling a baby serial killer to snuff lives out on your watch.

Finished for the day, so TC back in morning as there's (I think) 3 teams that want to speak to him, everyone was exhausted, especially the stenographer. I'm got a work meeting soon, because unlike TC, I take safe-guarding seriously. So i'll write up my roving court report after; but wow, what a day and what a fkn scumbag TC is x

You’re not allowed to say that in here.
You absolutely can but will be asked to elaborate as to which bits of evidence presented in the 10 month trial make you think that way.

The other poster never replied so would you like to explain which bits of evidence presented during the 10 month trial make you believe she’s is innocent?

I feel like Chambers (and all the execs actually) are just trying the 'lie until it becomes the truth' in their evidence. They have all stated wide eyed 'We just didn't have the evidence, it was all gut feelings and vagueness from the consultants . We didn't get a clear sense of what was going on from the reviews or the consultants'.

Well for one, the reviews were conducted in bad faith - they were not given the full picture and were never going to meet the threshold for forensic case reviews. The RCPCH was a service review - it was never going to find 'the answer' because it's terms of reference explicitly state that if the deaths were caused by an individuals actions the review should be ceased immediately. It didn't cease because Kelly actively withheld the information around the individual. And I don't know how anyone could accuse someone of being vague when they are using language like 'you are harbouring a murderer' (spot on Jim) and 'If you put Letby back on that ward we will take more action' - they wanted the consultants to say 'Letby killed those babies by doing x,y and z at this time and she was seen with the empty syringe in her hand and here's the CCTV'. That level of evidence is so rarely present in murder cases - there are plenty of murders that go unseen, the only people bearing witness are the murderer and the victim. I'll never understand why those execs held those consultants up to a higher standard of backing up their claims than the CPS holds up detectives, professional investigators who are paid to do it.

I knew we would hear more outrageous stuff this week. These meeting notes with execs and Letby’s parents - you need to read in full, if you think you can handle it.

They make me feel sick, angry, disgusted. They even put Lucy above the parents of the babies.

They all need to rot in hell with her.

Just some of it:

How absolutely sickening is TC?

"Your resilience - Lucy, you astound me"
"Your resilience is amazing"

:sick::sick::sick:

I honestly can't get over how much they pandered to her and kissed her arse. If this was a film I would think it is unrealistic.

Arrived here in time to hear Tony Chambers being called reprehensible!

The man cannot lie straight in bed. He’s honestly worse than Letby with his non-answers. At least Letby kept hers brief!

The judge was visibly exasperated when she kept trying to pin him down to accepting that some people may find him “direct”. He gave one if his irrelevant corporate speak monologues, and she said so do you agree with me or not?!

Ian Harvey is doing ok, considering the circumstances (that he’s one of the most responsible for facilitating Letby). He’s not arrogant - so he’s inherently less irritating - and is generally trying to actually answer the questions. I’m sure he’ll slip up later. I do think he lacks the colossal ego of some of the others, so is trying to be honest as long as it doesn’t get him into too much trouble, because it’s not causing him narcissistic injury.

But it’s early days yet, there’s plenty of time left for him to reveal himself as a total cubt.

Kelly’s evidence gets worse and worse. She sounds like a truther at times. She purposefully says on two occasions “the poor babies suffered suboptimal care”. These people literally handed Letby her defence on a platter. They aided and abetted Britain’s worst killer of children. All empathy is gone. She deserves prison. Her weasel words are making me fucking sick.

I just feel for the parents of the babies she has been questioned about. This must be a nightmare for them.
