Yet in a grievance meeting in December 2016 she said she was happy for the police to come as she had nothing to hide. But I think she said this in the safety of knowing they couldn’t find evidence and they hadn’t already been called.

This is the problem. They have decided amongst themselves that there isn't enough evidence to go to the police, where as the paediatricians are terrified, and have some evidence, but aren't being listened to. It needs a police investigation to find all the evidence.

She’s just a pathological liar and extremely manipulative.
Later in the transcript they ask the rep about LLs reaction to the “frank conversation” where she basically spells it out to her what they’re accusing her off and her reaction is to simply stand up, walk away and go on her phone.
The week prior she was crying in one of the meetings that wasn’t even centred around the allegations… her behaviour is so telling.

The whole calling the police thing is a giant red herring. When the concerns about Letby were raised she should have been taken away from direct contact with patients and the investigation should take place - the police could then have been called if necessary but in the meantime the babies would have been safe. They only had the views of consultants to go on but that seems to have been enough to remove Letby in July 2016 so why wasn't it before? The lives of a few babies would have been saved. The first duty of any hospital is patient health and safety - they failed miserably to fulfill that duty.

Yes, it's like in the trial the only time she was distraught was when Dr Noname was about to give evidence.

With hindsight it should have been at least after babies E and F. The high insulin/ low CRP and sudden death of E should have triggered a police investigation. Nobody at the hospital seem to have a clue how to handle the situation. Dr Jayaram and Brearey did a good job at getting her off the unit but the backlash against them has been immense.

Steve Brearey must be going towards the end so he can be asked about his interactions with all the managers.

Unless the managers can demonstrate that their decision to remove Letby in July 2016 was based on significantly different evidence to what they had known for months then they are in for a very hard time.

Reports from today already, she wasn’t very independent if she already made her mind up and thought it was a witch hunt!
Disgusting to suggest there was a witch hunt because Letby rejected, presumably, Dr B. There was no evidence of that either yet they were happy to go with it

This inquiry the more it goes on the more it shows how she was protected and looked after by management in the hospital.
Apart from the consultants, nobody we have heard from so far has taken a step back and thought why the babies were suddenly dying and the link to Letby. No wonder she thought she would get away with it.

This was so chilling - she wanted carte blanche to continue her killing spree. No empathy in her reply about deaths. No fear about her own skill set.

I bet Letby started that rumour about SB herself

He's tying himself up in knots isn't he. Why can't any of them just be honest and admit they ducked up really badly. Just show some fricking humility. This is enraging.
I’m only a short way through sian Williams and I’m completely blown away! How do they have the balls. She’s trying to say she didn’t know what letby was being accused of when she’s been bleeping handed two feed bags to “keep as evidence in case there was foul play”. What a LIAR.

I’m only part way into Dr Green but effectively they’ve pointed out exactly what I said earlier, she shouldn’t have been allowed to raise the grievance as the drs should have been covered under whistle blowing. It’s in the guidance. He admits to basically being out of his depth imo.

But I am equally enraged at the pair of them. They both tie themselves in knots but I hated her, she doubled down on the findings of the report and basically said because the consultants didn’t give “proper evidence” it wasn’t enough to believe them…sounds like those on the frigging fb group

It's so annoying. Absolutely useless management. They didn't have evidence that Brearey was knocking off Letby either but it didn't stop them accusing him of it

Interestingly as I read on, DR green had been present in all the meetings and was the one who saved the bags from the twins and all this was before the grievance so he was well aware it was being investigated and there was a lot of “evidence” flying around/being collected.

His (and the other woman’s argument) was this was a separate issue purely about her removal from the unit and “there were other investigations ongoing” into that side of things. Which again, brings me back full circle, why the duck was she allowed to have a grievance heard 😡
