Also just had a thought…… surely they checked her google searches. If she was guilty surely she would of googled the right way to kill a baby, or any sinister search for that matter. Even Beverly allitt? Just something…. I bet they found nothing though, if they did they would of definitely pulled that out in the opening.

They have evidence from her computer so like she said in her interviews, she accepts it if the evidence says so, but can’t say why she did. She can’t really deny it if there is concrete evidence like that. It would be a clear lie if she denied it.
Just speculation but perhaps she handled the stressful shifts by having a drink afterwards. There’s the possibility that she looked them up online under the influence but didn’t remember it the next day, so perhaps when police presented this evidence to her, she couldn’t deny it but genuinely couldn’t remember if she had done it .

Not saying she’s a raging alcoholic but high stress environments in healthcare, especially with shift work, make sleeping very tough and I know a lot of people who rely on self-medicating to be able to sleep.

I myself have been known to have a couple drinks after a long day, especially if I have the next day off work. I’ve never done anything dodgy but if the police came up to me 2-3 years after the fact and asked if I’d remembered searching for someone online, I probably would also claim I didn’t remember it!

For what it’s worth, I’m leading towards guilty but mostly undecided.
I am glad this case is going through a full trial to examine all of the evidence.

The whole thing is a shitshow and we are mere weeks in. We are arguing the toss trying to prove either way based on misreported snippets of information and differences in personality and life experience. Some don't find the texts weird, some do. Some don't find the searches invasive, some do. I sincerely hope the jury will be given more to work with than this or they'll be debating for a decade.

Atm I'm on the wavelength maybe Baby A was an accident and it triggered something in her. Who bloody knows tomorrow!

Long time since I studied that part of the law but if I remember rightly its all down to "the probablity of success" i.e. a conviction. I THINK they have to be 80% convinced before its signed off on.
Police told me before it's 90% not trying to 'gotcha' you. This was about 12 hrs ago mind.

just because they were poorly doesn’t mean they can’t have been murdered/attempted to be murdered. Both can be true.
Totally agree - what I am saying though is that the prosecution seem to have hinged their case on the fact that none of these babies were 'expected' to deteriorate and ultimately die - when the evidence now coming out looks like that isn't completely true.

Of course not, she's a nurse - she'd already have known how to tamper with their meds.

If I wanted to kill someone, I wouldn't be so moronic as to Google how to do it. You'd have to be a special kind of stupid to do that.

Also (sorry) she wouldn’t of searched the parents on Facebook but not googled sinister stuff if she was in fear of being caught.

I'm officially in the "do not know" camp. Won't change my vote until the next thread. I still think she's guilty based soley on there being no way anyone is that unlucky BUT could I in good conscious convict her based on what we know so far?? Nope.
They have convinced me she's an attention seeking weirdo with a lack of social skills, awareness and boundaries but that's about it!! 😂😂

But what I’m saying is if she wanted to murder, or hurt anyone she would of made some kind of dodgy google search surely.

Why? She would already know how to do it. Would you google how to kill someone if you wanted to kill someone?

In other news, I have been listening to report of maternity services in East Kent. It’s awful poor parents.
Regadless of outcome here I think Chester hospital also has failings which I am sure will be addressed after this trial.

I don't understand this?
Would she leave a trail of Facebook searches but no google searches if she was guilty.

probably would make some kind of google search pointing towards killing etc, it’s been shown in the past a lot of murderers have been caught by internet history

I mean I really don't think your premise for thinking someone isn't guilty is that they didn't google "how to murder someone".
