The rate we’re going we could nearly have the thread title as what day of the trial it is! Fastest moving thread I’ve contributed to 😳 I reckon it will get a lot of traffic the deeper we get into the evidence
Definitely. I can see this being one of the biggest threads on tattle in months to come. Not sure how I'm going to juggle this with my real life responsibilities.

I have agreed with 99.9% of what you’ve said in these threads!
It doesn’t completely add up for me.
I don’t know if I’m coming from my view point, because I don’t want to accept the alternative could be true.
But I do work for the NHS, and I do know it’s failing and I’ve seen people lose their jobs so that my trust can be ‘seen to be doing something’.
I have first hand, been the victim of my ‘face not fitting’ and having allegations put towards me that simply were not true, because that organisation had decided they wanted me gone. Ok I wasn’t accused of murder, but I was accused of things I simply wouldn’t do, because my conscience would never let me.

It just seems really off to me. But I will follow closely, and am prepared to be proven wrong.

I saw a post up thread where a PP had quoted an article where LL apparently looked at people crying in the public gallery ‘expressionless’. This is all that’s going to be reported, the stuff that can be misinterpreted.
They won’t mention if she’s sat there looking broken, or looking over to her parents for reassurance.
If she’s guilty, then yes she is more likely to have no remorse, and have no empathy to the victims families.
If she is innocent, she may be absolutely petrified by how any of her actions may be interpreted, so therefore is trying to refrain from showing any emotion.
I am also struggling with these claims about her looking "expressionless". It reminds me of the accusations levelled at women who are raped who shutdown emotionally, when in reality they are deeply traumatised and its framed as them seeming unbothered. Its simply too early to accurately interpret what her reactions mean.

Can people just block others if you dislike one another’s responses?
This thread is proper ‘ard enough to keep up with with work and children round the clock.

I think what’s opened my eyes the most is that babies dying isn’t as ‘common’ as I thought in the NICU/ SCBU- I honestly thought there’d be more deaths than what’s been mentioned. I’m obviously glad I was wrong to think it, I was clearly a bit naive to how much fight these little babies have in them
For context, there are now many hospitals within the UK who will deliver and treat babies born at 22 weeks (viability is classed at 24 weeks) there are many babies who survived being born at this gestation living amazing lives. Some with complications from prematurity, others with none.
Science has advanced amazingly😊

You can do what you want, I’m just saying as an outsider who hasn’t posted my thoughts on this trial yet but has been following closely, the sarcasm is pathetic. That’s my opinion.

Please carry on, I’d hate to derail the thread any more.
Jokes, sarcasm & morbid humour are some people’s way of coping/dealing with things. This is a deep, deep case. A bit of light heartedness is actually needed now & then in my honest opinion!

I’m keen to find a “trigger” too. I feel I just have to know what would make you want to do this if it wasn’t notoriety or attention. Surely to god it wasn’t just jealousy that perhaps “everyone” around her was pairing off and starting families. And she was fuming worried she’d never have that herself? She was only 25 but who knows. Did she ever have a boyfriend or girlfriend. So many questions I hope come to the surface.
I fully get why you want to understand why someone would do this but sadly some people are just like that. I think it’s harder for us to process because ‘she doesn’t look like the type’. Also because she’s a woman. But if we were presented the same case with a ‘dodgy’ looking old bloke, I don’t think there’d be half the discussion on what happened to them to make them do this.
Maybe she’s just evil.

Note to self : next time i inevitably chuck away yet another house plant that was gifted to me that I’ve failed to keep alive because I always forget to water it and so it shrivels up and dies, make sure I don’t write down my feelings of anguish and despair and panic about it just incase I’m ever accused of murder and the police search my house.
I’d like to confess here that I am a prolific plant murderer. You may use this evidence against me in court. I am very good at keeping human beings alive but plants not so much.

We haven’t heard the full evidence of how the insulin poisoning was supposedly done. Is there physical evidence of it being mixed with the other nutrients?
Do you want an actual ‘smoking gun’ still clutched in her clawed hand while cackling ‘I did it pahaha’?
The burden of proof is beyond reasonable doubt not, ‘beyond all doubt with CCTV thrown in plus flailing herself in front of the court saying I done it govner’.
I’ll not be jumping on the scapegoating theory train either.

See Lucy doesn't keep a record of something - suspicious.
Someone else doesn't record something Lucy says she said - must not have happened.

It just feels to me things are being forced to fit abit. Is it really a coincidence that stillbirths were sky high that same year she's alleged to have murdered the babies? Why are the new experts more credible then the ones who initially stated causes of death to be things like pneumonia? If the prosecution are calling that note a confession, what else are they going over the top about? One baby it is said she never had any contact with the IV bag shes meant to have poisoned?? Prosecution claim she was getting away with these murders via all these different means and then turned around and decided she would physically attack a baby, to what keep under the radar? They claim its not possible its a coincidence she was there at all these deaths and collapses but then we have a baby she wasn't even present for 'Oh she must of done something beforehand then'. Honestly not arguing but do things like this not make anyones eyebrows raise just a little?
With regards to new experts being more credible - I think I’m inclined to believe the people who did the original post mortems were probably unconsciously biased because the babies never left the hospital so I don’t think suspicious circumstances would have even entered their head. Some of the PM outcomes were unexplained. You might say the new experts might have an unconscious bias but there are at least 5 of them and if they all agree it’s going to be really hard to dispute their evidence. I wonder if the pathologists who did the original post mortems will be witnesses and if they have a change of view.

I don’t think the prosecution were over the top with the confession. I know there is a lot of debate about it but it’s still a significant bit of evidence that forms part of the bigger picture. Someone could tell me over and over she wrote it out of stress and anguish but I just can’t accept it. It will take a lot for me to change my mind on why someone would write they killed them on purpose when they didn’t.

The IV bag has been explained a few times so I won’t go into so much detail again but there is expert evidence that the only possible explanation is the first bag was contaminated, and Lucy had access to the bag. Even the second bag it looks like she might have had access to (as likely a stock bag from the fridge) but all the defence have said so far was she wasn’t on shift when that second bag was given to the baby. That doesn’t rule her out.

You'll need a best published wiki author award at the end of all of this!
Thank you for your dedication!
Shame I can’t put it on my CV! 🤣🤣

Hard to scream when you have a breathing tube stuck down your throat.
I would think babies with breathing tubes would be sedated too.
my new born had major surgery that takes an adult 10 weeks to recover from and because he was so heavily sedated with a ventilator he never cried the whole time he was in hospital.

I haven’t read all the threads but I’ve been reading the wiki and I think the defence seems weak.
I work in healthcare and I’ve also had babies in NICU (in regional surgical units and local NICU/SCBU) for long periods with very complex issues so I’ve seen my fair share of babies being very, very unwell and the complexities and how things work. These things just don’t happen. Seemingly stable babies just don’t crash and become unwell suddenly at the frequency that was occurring in this case.
The defence saying that excess air in the abdomen can be explained by CPAP belly or the optiflow just doesn’t happen. Yes there will be some air but not enough to cause the catastrophic results for these babies.

How does one get a job as a court artist because some of the drawings look like they have it in for Lucy🤣
I swear to god if I ever end up in a criminal court it wouldn’t be prison I’d be scared of, it’d be those bloody drawings. They’re always dreadful 🤣

A

The timings were given in the opening statements. It was 16 mins after LL started on the night shift (she arrived at 7.30pm for an 8pm shift start), that baby A collapsed.

The twin baby B collapsed the next night, at 12.33 am (so about 4 hours after LL started her shift)
16 minutes into her shift and she's been able to murder a baby. This is just getting a bit far fetched to me. I know it's not a popular opinion on here but that's what I think.

It's like if someone steals your bike, you think, oh yeah shit happens. You buy a new one, it happens again. The same happens 20 times in a row and you think, fuck, this isn't an anomaly is it? Someone's out to get me. Same, same.
Or… maybe you live in a dodgy area populated by a lot of bike stealing fuckers 🤣.

I sorta think maybe the thread should be locked.
It's feels quite disrespectful to the babies and families at times. This is a live murder trial of 7 precious babies but I feel some people view it as entertainment.
Why do you think people view it as entertainment? People on here have shared personal stories people are supporting others. I cannot fathom that.

The fact the pattern followed her and the fact she is on trial for murder not negligence in my opinion is enough to gather there likely was not other babies dying of insulin poison on other nurses watches.
I'm trying so hard not to be biased but I genuinely am really struggling to fathom how anyone can believe this is all just coincidence. I really think the fact LL alone is on trial shows there clearly wasn't 22 other instances of death/near death with babies and other nurses. I don't doubt the NHS was unbelievably negligent but the scapegoat thing is honestly mental to me.

The being switched thing really bothers me the more I think about it. If they suspected her of murdering babies, why the fuck was she allowed anywhere near them? It stinks of "Oh well if the babies start dying on day shift aswell, least we've proved our theory!" it just makes no sense. It's not like you are testing for someone stealing from petty cash.
Exactly this - so to me that's already a massive massive red flag - either they were totally negligent - or - they have lied in order to cover themselves.

I’m just thinking would she have had the balls to make the grievance if she knew she was guilty? Would it not have been better to do as she was told and not kick up a fuss
so I had a member of staff put in a grievance against me when I had to go through disciplinary procedures for gross misconduct with him (he’d violently threatened myself and other members of staff… we had video recorded evidence of this which he knew about) and he claimed in his grievance that I was bullying and harassing him. He was 100% guilty but I think he used the grievance procedure to A) buy time in the investigation into his unacceptable conduct and B) discredit me as a manager

didn’t work, though, but it took 12 months for it all to be resolved. Grievance was thrown out in the end due to lack of evidence but still took a considerable amount of time!!

I guess what I’m getting at is if she’d been in the nhs a while (which I think she had been) and knew the procedures it’s plausible to me that she’d put a grievance in even if she was guilty in order to play the system a bit.
