I’m so sorry to hear about your friend and am sending so much love. What a shock. It takes time to process , especially when it has come unexpectedly . I’ve been slow to offer condolences- I’m in some shock and denial - I found out a few days ago that my friend of 25 years ( my daughter’s godmother) had passed suddenly on 14 July. I’d only been talking with her on 13th July. At one point I even wondered if we were both talking about the same person

We currently have very serious-looking bat survey people camped outside the house, so I’m playing/singing the Batty-Bat song from Sesame Street a lot to amuse my tiny little mind
They haven’t found any as of yesterday and look really irate about it, so I’m probably unintentionally goading them to imminent murder.

ah Bat out of Hell. My dad bought my mam the single on tape (!!!) when I was little, and I remember that we would play it from the start in her car every morning driving to primary school - the song lasted longer than the whole journey. The follow up to that was an album with I’m a believer by the Monkees as the first song (tape again). I must have wound the tape back each day and spent the entire primary school commute listening to those two songs only over the years.@mrs.darcy such sad news, especially when unexpected. Gosh, three songs - impossible to stick with three as they change depending on what mood I’m in but right now, these have come to mind:
I have a favourite playlist that has these plus many more on and each of them remind me of something - a person, or a time in my life. Love how songs and memories are so intertwined
- Meatloaf - Bat out of hell - love Meatloaf and love belting this one out at the top of my voice in the car so no one can cringe at me

My husband has the album on tape as well! The Monkees was another favourite that he has on tape! He’s kept his old stereo which has a tape deck and sometimes we just get the old tapes out for a listen. We were also listening to vinyl still after it went out of fashion but, like most things, it’s trendy again! We‘ve got so many original singles and albums but are in the loft due to lack of room. When the kids move out, it’s all coming out again.ah Bat out of Hell. fast forward (no pun intended) less than 30 years, and I have an old cassette tape that I’ve stashed away for little one to look at and keep as a piece of history
