I’m in a different jurisdiction and we also accept majority verdicts right of the bat but in any trials I’ve been in the jury have been asked if the verdict is unanimous or by majority on each charge.
Haven’t been in that line of work or sat in on a jury trial since about 2017 though so could have changed since then and not sure if that was ever the done thing in England & Wales!

Woke up early so made a cup of tea and kitkat and catching up on the thread. You do get very invested in it as have most people on Tattle following this thread. We've just been fortunate that because of the location of the trial we've been able to attend quite easily. Effing travelled 5 hours so that is really impressive and I remember someone mentioning that someone had travelled from Brighton. We spoke to a doctor who came up from the south. Two of of the babies had the same names as my friends children (who are in their 30's) which struck a chord with her when their names were mentioned. Monday felt a very different atmosphere maybe because the trial was reaching a new stage. There seemed to be so many more people in the corridor going backwards and forwards and legal people wearing wigs. It seemed like the end was near and the verdict would soon be known but here we are on Saturday with no verdict yet. It has been proven that deliberate harm has been done to those babies so how can anything but a guilty verdict be reached. Other staff weren't present at all of the events unless there were numerous murderers so it should be quite straightforward really. If the jury think in the way that most sensible people do they'll do the right thing find her guilty and bring closure to all the families and hopefully this will be as soon as.Aw some people say the same to me, I don’t think anyone needs to understand why people want to go. Personally I’ve looked after so many babies and children I couldn’t get my head around instead of caring for babies, someone would harm them and I just needed to see for myself and then it’s so hard to walk away from you get invested don’t you! My little boy was looked after by nicu staff and I just can’t even imagine, you put your most prized possessions in their hands never does it cross your mind that they could not have their best interests at heart, let alone hurt them! I occasionally sat at your side, but I just can’t see the screen at all I think I needahh tell her I said Thankyou
how lovely to say. Oh I needed it I found that morning really upsetting.

The prosecution would decide whether to set a retrial.
I'm not surprised by the wait - it's such a complex case. Even if they all agree then they might be wanting to go through it all to be sure.
Maybe we just need a little patience and eventually the jury will all agree on guilty verdicts.

Forgot to say that early morning is absolutely when kitkats are at their best...enjoy! When I stayed at my Nan's house she used to "secretly" supply us with kitkats in bed

Believe it or not he’s actually a well respected statistician who was (partially - he does like to over exagerarte his role in this) responsible for getting Lucia de Berk’s conviction over turned. She was a nurse who was convicted of similar crimes to Lucy Letby. He also got another Italian nurse who had been accused of murdering her patients exonerated too, and has since developed a bit of a weird obsession with LL, if she’s convicted, he wants to be the one to do her appeal and get her off.can someone please explain who this
Just started listening to an update on the Delphi murders and the opening snippet made me think of a certain other person-

There's comes a point where circumstantial evidence is just as reliable as forensic evidence (imo).

Honestly I thought the same i really thought everyone would be surprised and it would be a super quick Verdict, instead… nothing… I just have this strange feeling that they aren’t all agreeing. It said the jury was 8 women and 4 men. Now if you look over on fb, there’s a high percentage of men who think she’s innocent, perhaps it’s them, I guess we’ll never know but I did think it would be yesterday, to get an answer for everyone so they can take it all in over the weekend…
