Huge for the prosecution imo. You can't argue it's a coverup if they didn't know there was something to cover up in the first place. Massively backs up the fact that these were independently investigated and not just cherrypicked to make her look bad.

And as he says... how do the defence argue this one? Are they saying that hospital failings were pinned on Lucy, but the investigation coincidentally uncovered 2 REAL murders, committed by an unknown third party who left no evidence and was not suspected?

Her being guilty is literally the most sensible and logical option, unless they can dispute the insulin deaths. And it's a bit late for that.

Did anybody see the anonymous post by somebody who says that they’d had LL look after her little boy and she was ‘amazing’

I keep seeing a lot of posts along the lines of 'how did she afford BM' and did she get legal aid etc. I'm assuming he took it on for publicity, the Hillsborough trial was obviously a massive public case too, maybe that verdict even got him a bit cocky. I think he took it on for his reputation thinking it would be another big bosh she didn't do it not guilty. I'm assuming he charged less thinking they'd get the defeat of his life and an even bigger turn for his career but it didn't work out.

If she has Legal Aid the court will have approved his appointment. If she doesn’t she will be paying for him the same way anyone else would. Defence Counsel at his level do not need to lower their rates for their reputation!

I have previously asked the question about affording BM and been told she won't have to pay for this as the Crown has to give her a barrister of the same standing as the prosecution in order for her to have a fair trial.

If she has Legal Aid her solicitor can make an application to the court for the appointment of senior Counsel. This will be sanctioned in cases of high importance or complexity, it’s not guaranteed though and is not about fairness.
If she is not entitled to Legal Aid she will have to cover those costs herself.

if he was dealt with as he deserves, can we get a gofundme to pay for BNE as KC on behalf of the poor parents and families who are subjected to him berating everyone else and supporting the person that tortured their babies? It’s not normal - to put it politely, and I have tried so hard to avoid commenting on any of those posts about that site but I feel sick reading these after what we’ve heard yesterday and today.

Could the hospital sue him for slander? No idea how these things work!

Exactly - this person couldn’t actually say when either, and let’s face it she might have been ‘goid’ sometimes. Practising her ‘I’ll try and act like a normal human being ‘ from time to time.

A lot of them are really arrogant too, they seem to have this idea that just because they’re highly educated in a certain field, they’re also an expert in every other field too and their opinion is suddenly worth more than anyone else’s, which obviously isn’t true. Him and the reddit ‘scientist’ (lol) both talk down about HCP’s so much, but have then gone on to demonstrate on so many occasions that they don’t know even the most basic things about medicine lol. It’s so cringe.

The Judge will cover this point in his directions - it’s an important one. The same way that the defendant not taking the stand says nothing about guilt.

There are asp lots of reasons why you might not call an expert. Cases tend not to be won or lost on them - for example, I might not call an expert because it’s more likely to confuse the jury and it’s easier, acting for the defence, to cast doubt on the Pursuer’s experts.

Ok, that is understandable. But surely if they did have somebody, it would cast more doubt onto the prosecution? Also saying that not taking the stand doesn’t infer guilt, sadly so many people thought her taking the stand inferred innocence so

As a nurse I don’t even know who would be responsible for the insulin/c-peptide results being chased, because they took a week to come back. Certain rogue results (such as very high potassium or very high INR) will trigger the lab to call the ward as soon as they are logged. They take the name of the nurse receiving the result to ensure someone knows straight away and is responsible for taking action. But these are because it’s immediately life-threatening and needs treatment started. The insulin/c-peptide levels would raise suspicion of medical/nursing error but I don’t know who would receive them or whether they would be compelled to take action. I’m just rambling but I do think there will be investigations and repercussions from this aspect of the case.

I thought I read that they phoned through the results as they were concerned. I might be wrong though.

I thought so too, but more recent reporting seemed to say she went with some colleagues?

I think the Ibiza holiday just before the triplet attack was with friends. The holiday with her parents was just before she was arrested (not sure which time though, presumably the 1st?)
