We weren't allowed to pass on the stairs growing up either. Had to go back up if someone started coming up at the same time.
I do this all the time and if someone on the stairs looks at me bemused I just remind them that I’m looking out for their luck too 😂

I'm glad you were able to go today. I would like to go again if I can. I'm not sure how I would feel listening to the Defence backing her up, probably infuriated. Reading the CS report during the day it felt like BNE was really doing well in showing her guilt. I know when I heard BM and BNE discussing things with the judge BM was an extremely good communicator and I hope he doesn't somehow manage to convince any of the jury that she's NG. It's hard to imagine he'll be able to do that with all the prosecution expert witnesses and him having none to support his claims.
NJ is sooo persuasive but I think and hope the damage will already be done and he can’t weedle his way out during defence

My mam's side is Irish, my dad's side were farmers so when I was little I used to sit on the back of his horse n cart in the blistering heat selling his fruit and veg. He still comes out with lots of farming almanac weather sayings ,I love folklore. Ireland is supposed to be beautiful. I love the different Irish accents
I used the same almanac as my grandma when I planted a few years ago, bought the same seed varieties she did, and will add that I felt her presence keenly each time I was out tending it in my straw hat - still do. I think this mist be what is meant by communing with ancestors. The difference is she was feeding and canning for a family of 8, with a husband paralyzed by a stroke, and no social safety nets during the Great Depression. If her crops failed they would starve; I was doing it for clean, fresh veggies and to be outside. I love mythology, fairy tales, folklore, herbalism, and folk medicine. I knew someone that took warts off with a mumbled charm and a nickel (a Brogan and 7th of 7 sons); another that could stop bleeding with a Bible verse (had never met his father). I am from the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia and West Virginia where many Irish, English, Scottish and Germans settled - the Great Wagon Road goes through Roanoke, Virginia where I live now. I LOVED England and Scotland - Ireland looks so gorgeously green and filled with magical stories!
---
My mum's superstition which she has well and truly passed on to me is if you drop a glove you have to ask someone else to pick it up as it's unlucky to pick up your own dropped glove. This has been a bit embarrassing because I've had to ask complete strangers to pick up my glove when dropping it whilst out shopping etc. Sometimes I've used the excuse that my back's bad and I cannot bend down.
Hilarious!!! My mom wouldn’t let my daughter plant her little pine tree she grew from seed on her property because once they are tall enough to cast a longer shadow than you, you will die. And all the old cemeteries here have pine trees to mark them. We also were not allowed to put up an umbrella in the house or sing at the table.

First time posting and so sorry to butt in! I’ve been camp guilty from the start but have really solidified this option on hearing her cross examination etc. One of the things that I hope BNE will touch on is that not one of these collapse episodes seems to have happened while the parents were present at the bedside. Surely that in itself is suspicious as I imagine parents of NICU babies are there alllll the time. The recurrent theme of parents not long left and called back, or middle of the night calls to come to unit are really odd to me.

yes you are right we were there 24/7 except for meals/showers and over nights and so were majority of other parents. I think it must have got so much hard for the day shifts

I just googled BNE chambers and didn't realise his office is about a 20 min walk from my work (thought he was a Southerner for some reason). So, whatever the verdict, I'm going to buy him an expensive bottle of champagne and a card and drop it off one day.

Will need input from @Lucyxxxx and @DellaC @docmum @gigilouxx @Tofino @MmmB777 and any other tattle wives, for something to write inside. Something that's saucy yet sassy but most importantly, grateful/thankful 🥰
We could write in the card.

You put Lucy in jail where she will forever linger
Hope you dont mind but alot of your fans are ginger ♥

Reading all the evidence laid out so concisely and clearly in the closing speech is for me really hammering home that she is GUILTY. I cannot fathom how the jury could possibly find her innocent. Really am praying that they’re all on the same wavelength as everyone on this thread 🤞🏻

A tiny bit off topic but I’ve just discovered that BNE helped convict paedophile football coach Barry Bennell. God I love this man!

Only jobs she’s getting are wing cleaning and servery. Don’t think she needs to worry about the NMC 🥴
I genuinely hope she gets her face smashed in I really do. I don’t know much about prison but can she demand solitary? How does all that work.

Yeah she can ask to be put down the block for her own protection but I know Rose West is on a therapeutic wing cause she's a whole lifer. Know someone who was in with her and she did gardening in some big boots and the other prisoners would joke that the jail let her keep Fred's boots.

She can ask to be put down the block yeah. But doesn’t mean people can’t get to her in other ways x

Prisoners cannot demand anything. She can request isolation if she is at genuine risk of harm from other prisoners. This will be considered and granted if the prison Governor is satisfied that it’s appropriate. Solitary confinement is sadly used more commonly as a form of punishment despite all of the issues around torture and human rights etc. If convicted she would probably be monitored more closely - prison wardens have a duty of care to ensure prisoner safety, any incidents where prisoners are harmed are a breach of that duty. But remember that if convicted she will be in a high category prison with people who have committed similar crimes, the sort of violence you are hoping for is less common than you would think. A more likely risk would be that she would harm herself.

Women’s jails aren’t categorised like men’s tho, there’s no cat A B C D it’s either closed or open, regardless of whether she can be attacked or not I wouldn’t fancy being in her shoes

I know in men's jails they all go for meds at same time (normal prisoners and the freaks) they also get got when passing through jail for education courses etc. Then there's the classic 'accidently leaving doors unlocked'. Dunno about women's jails though. Ayeeshia Smiths mom gets boiling water thrown on her on a regs lol lol lol
