Just come to drop my guilty vote
I haven't had time to read any of thread 40 so far today and will have to catch up later. My friend and me went to court today. I went to Specsavers and they sorted out my hearing aids and I could hear great today. I'm not sure whether anyone else from Tattle was there, it did seem much the same people as when we went last Wednesday and again a lot of police were there on laptops etc. We arrived around 11.20 and stayed until it was adjourned just after 4.00 pm, so we saw most of today's summing up. I have just read the CS report and there is absolutely no comparing the CS report to everything said in court. I thought BNE did a wonderful job in his summing up so far, the way he delivered things was just great. He went through evidence a number of times so the jury definitely weren't going to forget any of it. He paused in places to give them time to absorb what had been said. He really did make LL look like the evil cunning bitch that she is. He mentioned the expert witness findings of Dr Evans, Dr Bohin, Professor Hindmarsh, Professor Kinsey, Dr Arthurs, and the one with the Greek sounding name. He mentioned the testimony from LWH lab where because of the systems in place and staff training it can be assured the testing carried out there was 100pc accurate. He talked about the COCH Pharmacy and the checks done there regarding insulin to demonstrate the bags could have only been tampered with on NICU. He also demonstrated how LL tried to blame everyone for things going wrong and tried to make some of the events appear as though they happened on other people's watch in some cases. I don't know how anyone on that jury could find her NG from what I heard today. All these highly esteemed expert witnesses and all BM brought to court was a plumber. I wish I could go again tomorrow but I can't. It was very interesting today but very sad hearing him talk about the collapses and in some cases deaths of some of the babies. It was very sad when he talked about the baby who miraculously survived but was later found to be brain damaged. BNE is my hero and hopefully in the rest of his summing up he'll continue to expose that evil bitch and the jury will be in no doubt at all.

My heart is breaking for child E's mum. To think she walked in on Letby trying to kill her baby, and didn't know. She must think about that all the time, I'm sobbing for her.

This is so so scary. I wonder how many parents will be getting a phone call in the next year or so informing them they think LL has hurt their child. I’d be sick
Yes me and my husband have felt sick since they announced the very first time Letby was arrested and have followed it ever since. I contacted the police at the very beginning to make sure our daughter wasn’t involved in the case as our now 7 year old was in and out of NICU twice daily for the first week of her life for an unknown infection. She was born in April 2016 at the Countess. They looked through her files and confirmed Letby had nothing to do with her illness thank god but I am still certain she had given care to my daughter and I had an interaction with her when they were struggling to get a cannula back in my tiny girls wrist 😔 they were there for about 45 minutes trying to put it in and she was covered in needle pricks afterwards. When I went to see her and help by giving her some sucrose to calm her down I distinctly remember there being two nurses with her and one being with blonde mid length hair and she was telling me how much she liked my daughters baby grow. It was a turquoise one with animals embroidered on it and she commented on how she hadn’t seen many girl babies with that colour babygrow and liked it.

It was my only interaction with any of the nicu staff really as we were able to bring her up to the postnatal ward between medication (I’m thankful every day that she was ok). I remember it so clearly as it was a bit random but also a really worrying time, this is why I have no doubts that the parents recollections were absolutely correct. You remember every detail when your newborn baby is ill and I can imagine even more so when you had such limited time with your precious ones 😞 every interaction would be gone over and over in your mind for ever after.

Lucy Letby is evil. Prosecution have been brilliant, I hope the families get the justice they deserve.

One things for certain. This is more than just another job for our Nick, he's absolutely smashing it, his heart must feel like ours does and he's representing those families so very well.

Nicolas Johnson we salute you. You clever, clever man.

People disputing her evidence makes me so bloody angry. Her testimony supported by feeding times, phone records and the husband’s testimony is probably one of the strongest pieces of evidence in this case. The gaslighting by some of her memory being wrong makes me absolutely furious.

Seeing it all laid out together like this just hits home how evil and disgusting she really is. What a fucking monster.
But what a bloody wonderful (if you can call it that!) job BNE and his team have done over the past few years working to bring all this together! And the Police and any other organisation who is helping to bring some justice for these babies and their families.

I can’t even comprehend the amount of work has gone into even just preparing for this closing statement. BNE knows this case inside and out and they must’ve been working morning to night to do all of this. I know it’s his job and he’s probably paid alot of money but it’s a monumental amount of work. I’m in awe.

And I’m normally quite an ice queen but thinking about how much BNE clearly believes in what he’s doing and that he’s doing the right thing made me emotional today. The passion he’s put into his closing statement just shows how much he believes in his case. I think seeing it all written down so succinctly in a short space of time really hammers home what an evil bitch LL is and what a truly sad case this is.

hi all, I've been watching this thread since nearly the beginning. I've never joined in, but now I just want to say thank you all. Mainly for the amazing people you all are. Making me laugh (les dennis, matalan), making me cry ( with your honesty and talking about your little ones who struggled), but mainly making this thread so easy to follow. you are a clever bunch, fair play. I think she is guilty, and have done since her second arrest. Well done the police and CPS to getting it to the stage we are at now. I just can't, and probably never will understand why she did it. But thats not important now. Whats important is, she has had a fair trial - IMHO she's had this, and the jury come to right conclusion. Go well you amazing peeps

I see this as the final part of BNEs patchwork quilt. We've had all the individual pieces and now we see him sewing it all together beautifully.

The end result will be JUSTICE 💖

Ahh Dr DE is a hero. He will have noticed the hypo when tasked with going through thousands and thousands of pages of documents. They will have checked the bloods and finally pieced it together. After BM having tried so hard to discredit him professionally, he will undoubtedly be the person that led the worst serial killer of children of our time to a conviction. Bravo Dr DE.

I know 😪 heartbreaking…if she ever did read here…we want you to know you could never have known what was happening at the time. You did right to call your hubby. You couldn’t have done anything different, she deceived you. She deceived everybody.

After todays I’m feeling even more angry that she’s still sat there denying all.

Counting down the 30 seconds in court must have been so powerful. Such a clever way to demonstrate the clear intent behind the inaction. God love him our BNE, he’s doing amazing ❤

Thing is, they literally have no idea if she “looked after” their baby. She was shoving feed down the throat of the baby not in the indictment. Honestly the fact that the baby that she should have been paying attention to in room 3 at the time of baby Cs collapse and death, was in room 1 by the time of baby D’s death. What could she have been doing? All manner of things.
You would have no clue if she had done low level things to your baby at all. Denied medicine, force fed, left to cry, pinched, took away oxygen to test it out.. any number of awful things that would never be proven.

I love how they hold back really salient points specifically for the closing statements to hammer home the argument. Like not mentioning before that the 4 didn't know about the insulin. It's clear from the evidence they didn't but we have heard so much that stuff like that can be overlooked. But if he spells it out during evidence then defence can't attempt to counter it, same as the NG tube not being changed for 4 days. Known at the time but not the significance of it. Makes his arguments so much stronger and so much harder to counter at this stage

This man is so, so clever++

how he’s piecing together the similarities between cases, things I’d not even thought about. You can see how the cases can strengthen each other when he lays it out like this.

The patterns of behaviour across the babies can’t be denied. That’s not shift statistics.
