The note says “I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough“
I don’t know how anyone could explain that in any other way than she’s guilty

I’m really interested to see if she has fertility issues or something. It would explain a lot. I mean, it wouldn’t make it any better but it would at least give a narrative that my tiny brain can follow.

It’s usual practice, like hand and footprints. Without any context it tells us nothing.

I find that note really sad to look at tbh. I’m not saying I think she’s innocent, I’m still undecided on this. But all the ‘I don’t deserve to live’ and the feeling of hate she seems to have for herself is just sad. It’s hard to articulate because if she has committed these crimes I don’t want to feel any sort of empathy for her, but just seeing that note has made me feel… I don’t really know the word. Not how I expected though. This is all scrambling my brain a bit. It’s not black and white and I think there will be a lot of twists and turns over the next few months. Thinking of the families always though as it’s easy to get swept up in this and forget it’s so very real for these people.

Its a tough one isn't it? This seemingly lovely girl who had her whole life ahead of her. And it begs the question, what happened? She could be guilty of these crimes...but what happened to her frame of mind to get to that point? She may be innocent and her whole life will never be the same.
I don't believe that she went into that job because she was evil.

I bloody knew it, I knew it wouldn't it be a clear cut guilty case. The fact she picked up so much overtime throws the statistics so much and the unit being full of errors. I honestly have no idea whether she did it but the jury have to convict based on evidence. It will mean whole life tariff so really not easy for the jury, Ben is very good.

Just because the evidence sounds like a bombshell to us doesn’t mean it will be to the defence. Or even to the parents involved. The prosecution have to share their evidence with the defence so they can prepare their defence, before the trial starts

At this point we don't know the circumstances of that. Maybe it was at the request of the parents, maybe it's standard on the unit in case the parents want them at a later date (I have no experience of NICU so no idea). Those details will probably come out in the coming months of the trial. If it was on her own phone and off her own back then yes, it's absolutely vile, but at this stage there's nothing to say either way.

People who are trying to explain her actions don’t necessarily believe she is innocent and are actually showing that they can think logically and rationally by looking at all other possibilities. Narrow-mindedness doesn’t help anybody, and it especially won’t help the jury. Would you want to be responsible for sending an innocent person to prison for the rest of their life? Or worse, allowing a guilty one to walk free?

Re: all the paperwork at home - I mean, if you were worried about being investigated at work for (at best) gross misconduct/incompetence wouldn’t you make sure you were squeaky clean and have a clean up, make sure you safely shredded and disposed of anything you shouldn’t have. Why was she keeping it all
Was she scribbling on paper and post it’s so it wouldn’t leave a digital trial? It’s all so weird

This is what bothers me, if you you'd done something and thought you were under suspicion you'd get rid of everything!

I don’t even think the letter could be considered viable evidence cause it just seems like it’s the ramblings of a schizophrenic or someone having a breakdown.

I do think she’s guilty but I don’t think the note can be used in the long run.

At best it shows a mentally disturbed woman.
At worst…

Absolutely this! Each person will interpret this note very different. It also says 'I havent done anything wrong' 'despair' and 'why me?'
Prosecution didn't focus on that.

I’m trying to think how I’d feel as a nurse being accused of something I didn’t do which caused harm to a patient, I literally can’t even imagine the distress I’d feel. To be doing the job you love one day then the next…

I’m still undecided.

Just to say, many years ago I used to work with women who had suffered domestic abuse and one was eventually arrested for attacking her (male) husband. Nothing happened as was a clear case of self defence but she would say, on repeat "I'm a disgusting person, I'm evil, I wanted to hurt him". On repeat. She was mentally destroyed.

Context is everything.

I haven't come to any conclusion on this case yet because I haven't heard all the evidence. But that note on its own? It isn't proof. Certainly not proof enough to convict imo.

Agreed. The note looks like catastrophising anxiety to me but others will say different and that's how ambiguous it is. But the only one who knows, is LL.

I know it’s supposed to be a fair trial and innocent until proven guilty and all that but god I wish she had a shit lawyer.

i’m glad she has a very good lawyer, no come back or ifs / buts if she is found guilty.

You could say that about all serial killers tho. They all go along for years without killing and then they start lol. I’m sure there’s an external trigger sometimes. But not always.

Things lead up to it though. There are usually small signs. She literally trained as a nurse, got a degree, and BAM starts murdering the babies. Im sorry but I think something happened to her in 2015.

You are automatically given legal aid once arrested- from vandalism right through to murder. Crown Court cases, especially ones like this one are always granted legal aid because all crown Court cases automatically pass the Interest of Justice test.
