Poor Lorenzo getting dragged into all this. He's clearly got enough to be dealing with with the cracked pipes. The hospital will be in 6inches of shit by the time he gets back.

Don't talk down to me.

There's if you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person, whatever. And then there's expanding it so much that it can apply to anyone.

Lucy lived independently, had a successful career in a job requiring constant social interaction, had a full and rich social life, had sufficient social skills to be a literal serial killer right under everyone's noses, and is visibly remarkably self-assured and unfazed by everything. She would be the most atypical autistic person ever.

She's not autistic anyway because there is zero chance Bowel Movement wouldn't have used that as a sympathy ploy.

For everyone saying it doesn't matter: it does. People with autism who are exceptionally high functioning (the Chris Packhams of the world) already get disproportionate attention and centering, to the point where autistic people with significant problems are now facing a complete lack of understanding from the general public. If Lucy were to be autistic, she would be one of these extreme high functioners. The last thing we need is adding people like her to the label, just for being unnaturally composed on the stand. We are facing enough misunderstanding as it is without lumping us in with clearly non-autistic serial baby killers.
What a fantastic post, talk about raising awareness! The way you've worded it felt extremely powerful to me. (That is really not meant in a patronising way, tried wording it differently but still sounded a bit patronising)

I've mentioned previously that my son has Downs, he's 11 and there's sooo many sensory issues that are increasing as he gets older, he's really struggling and so are we, his parents. The problem is that because he already has a diagnosis of DS, nobody really seems to care about any additional diagnosis but we need help for him, it's not the diagnosis I care about it's about supporting him in the best way. He's non verbal so that adds another difficulty. Finally after 6 years of trying we are in the path of assessment, I have a consultation this week and I'm not joking but I bloody wish I'd have had an advocate like you by my side. It's really been a daunting and frustrating process thus far ❤

The prosecution have done an absolutely amazing job, tying it all together, dotting the I’s, crossing the T’s. Everything just came together perfectly and I have no idea how anyone can have any doubts about her guilt.

I hope BNE and his team get recognition for the work they’ve put in to this case. It’s mind blowing. I think it might be nosey who said at one point on Thursday they asked LL to turn to page 23000 (?). That just blows my mind and shows how much has gone in to leaving no detail uncovered. I’m honestly in awe of them.
23000+ 150,000 plus pages but

There seem to be a fair few knobs as well using her guilt as some kind of power play for misogyny to say “look women do awful things too” while ignoring that’s it’s almost always men but yes well done men 👏🏼 it wasn’t you this time. Here’s your medal boys 🍆🏅
Also people comparing it to the state of The Met to say well isn’t Wayne Cousins one bad apple like LL but failing to see all the evidence, reports, female officers giving first hand accounts, officers being done for vile WhatsApp’s including photos taken as a laugh with women’s dead bodies, grooming victims of domestic abuse, raping women, noncing etc etc.
(Will say now I think there are far more wonderful people in both professions and all institutions will have their systemic problems but Lucy Letby’s crimes prove nothing about police and vice versa! Except maybe what underfunding can do to public services, I think that’ll be brought into question in the same way it all got political after Bev A’s crimes).
I’m the first to call her a disgusting murdering piece of shit but will be gross seeing people use it as a way to prove women are baddies and bash the NHS.

To all the medical professionals on this thread, thank you for all you do! I do think you’re all incredible. I find the descriptions of the doctors and nurses trying to work out what was going on for these babies, desperately changing ventilators, losing sleep over what else they could have done, being haunted by missing things or not being believed, only second to the pain and grief of the families as the most awful thing about this case 💔

He says when alerted to it, it would come through the helpdesk, and it would be rectified "as quickly as possible".
He says he would be called out "weekly" to fix problems.
He says there was an occasion when they had a blockage in the room next door adjacent to the neonatal unit. He says a colleague attended it, the drainage had backed up and the neonatal nursery room 1 hand wash basin had "foul water" coming out of it.
He agrees with Mr Myers that "foul water" would include "human waste...sewage".
He says he is unable to confirm exactly when that happened during 2015-2016.

Solid witness.

(I feel a bit sorry for him being dragged into this tbh.)

Sorry just on one. Someone’s posted on the jobcentre plus convention fb group about how no one cared so much when it was Emma Tustin or Savanna Brockhill and it’s got me deeping this case
What is it about Lucy letby that has these people getting sore throats trying to protest her innocence, is it white woman privilege? Is it the fact she looks normal and not a Karen Matthews off the estate?
Cos I remember during poor Stars trial anyone who even offered the angle that Frankie Smith may have also been abused by SB, as pointed out by her own family, were insulted and told they’re sympathising with a baby killer. But by all standing LL is probably the worst child killer we’ve ever had? What is this chokehold she has them in
I think the reason people are SO adamant that she is innocent is because for her to have done these horrific, evil things goes against what they have been brought up to believe their whole lives and disturbs all sense of what is a ‘safe person’. She is in many ways the definition of what someone would think of if you said to then ‘imagine a good person’.

- firstly is her appearance. She’s white. We know (unfortunately) that many people have biases against poc and some are just straight up racist. Institutional racism in the police and healthcare system. Less importantly, she has sort of ‘English rose’ looks. She has (had) blonde hair and fair skin, I have a similar colouring and people automatically often see me as sweet and innocent (before they get to know me) - especially when I was in my teens and early-mid twenties (but looked younger). She has no deformities, a symmetrical face and is slim. Her dress sense is boring and bland as hell but she’s not ‘alternative’ or a goth or anything ‘strange’ like that. She is not scruffy, nor does she look like a chav a la Karen Matthews. She doesn’t wear heavy harsh makeup or have any visible tattoos. She looks soft and sweet and like someone you’d probably trust without even thinking about it. She’s pretty but in a completely non threatening way, in no way is she beautiful so women aren’t going to be threatened by her, but she’s pretty enough that men find her attractive and will be fooled by her appearance.
- Secondly is class. She is middle class, comes from a ‘good’ family as far as we can see. Not saying that is true but that is what people will think. She has a university degree, she is already more educated and possibly more intelligent (as much as it doesn’t seem like it) than a majority of people in this country. People put A LOT of weight in that. ‘Ooh she’s been to university, she’s got a degree, she must know her stuff’. Sad but true.
- she’s literally a children’s nurse. NOBODY wants to believe that a children’s nurse could hurt such innocent beings, the ones they are supposed to care for and protect. Also, many people don’t see nurses as intelligent, well-trained professionals - they seem them as angels, as martyrs who do something that they could never imagine themselves doing. Never mind the fact that it’s a job and we get paid for it.

I was involved in a medical emergency at a train station a few weeks ago, helped stabilise the patient until paramedics arrived. I told them I was a nurse and got lots of ‘you’re amazing I couldn’t do something like that’, asking me how I did the job and how hard it is. I got upgraded to first class after I missed my train because of it and got loads of wine given to me on the train. Never mind the fact that I couldn’t leave, I have to stay if I’m the most trained person there AND I wasn’t going to leave a person to potentially die just to get my train. But that doesn’t make me an angel like people were saying, just a somewhat decent person and a professional.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you asked people to think of a bad person, they may well think of the literal opposite of LL. In order to believe that LL is guilty, they have to subvert all their beliefs and they’d rather (probably subconsciously) believe something that is obviously not true rather than do so.

BNE opens the prosecution with ‘LL why do you only cry for yourself and not the babies’ and BM brings a plumber who reckons his mate might’ve sorted a bit of shite one night 7-8 years ago but he doesn’t know when… ok…

I'm gonna get my bag of Frys mini TD and eave it under your nose! It's thanks to this thread i have found it, I went fir a rummage in my choc drawer in my fridge and there it was right at the back!
I'm in awe of people restrained enough to have a chocolate drawer. If there's chocolate I'm my house, it's in my gob.

And that, Tattlers, is why I'm obese.

Right, we start at 11. Just going to do brunch and I'm all set.

Now I shouldn't have to say this (WHOTSOT) but my husband is at home today so please can we all refrain from discussing me and ❤NJ❤. I want to keep it between ourselves for now. Until I decide. WHICH FELLA DELLA?

So.....

FML the plumber isn't taking the stand is he/she 🤣
It's not a laughing matter, this is probably the most important witness of the whole trial. It's the plumbers testimony that will be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the dodgy sinks caused the babies to be poisoned with insulin.

I'm quite behind in everything and I just wanted to say I hope everyone who is here is ok (not to sound like a dick like Holly Willoughby) and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, surrounding yourself with love and happiness and if not, I'm passing it to you.

The trial is getting harder and harder to read about and even though I've been guilty from when the court started, it's not an easy position to be in. I wish I could see that this was just a misunderstanding, a coincidence or conspiracy, but being real there is no way it can be anything but her being completely evil.

To anyone who truly thinks she is innocent, I kind of envy that you can have that much faith in humanity. However, I think you are being completely ignorant at the same time. Ignorant to the work of what the criminal Investigators do and ignorant to all the pain of those families and most of all, those poor babies.

If after the verdict we find out where we can donate to in memory of these absolute little angels, I would love to be involved too. I have followed it since the start, taking breaks from my own son being in NICU at the end of October/beginning of November and then readmission into the Children's Ward in November and the babies and their families have weighed heavily on my mind and heart.

Not much else to add really, just wanted to send my love to everyone in this thread who is finding it tough too.
