Could the blood have been in the nappy from him swallowing it and then passing it- showing her timeline to be a lie?
I hope so, not that that is good either. I just can't bear to think she forced so much air in him that he was damaged internally so badly.

I dislike her, i really really dislike her.

Milk/saliva/stomach acid.

She's backing off because bile aspirates are an emergency in the NICU environment. They indicate a proper problem with the bowel - the baby being born with the bowels folded or formed wrong, them having twisted, NEC, sepsis paralysing the bowel. All bad.
Oh I thought bile was stomach acid, but it’s from the bowels? Ok it makes sense. So if she is saying it was bile aspirated at 9pm she would have had to act as quickly as if it was bleeding, and we know she didn’t act until 10pm.

The defence statement also refers to 'blood in the nappy' for Child E after he died. Mr Johnson says if that has been heard in her evidence. Letby says she cannot recall.

Letby says it is written in her nursing notes, and nothing was done about it as Child E was deceased by that time.

Letby is asked to look at her nursing notes.
Oh god, what's this about ☹
She is vile, I don't think I have ever wanted something horrible to happen to someone so much in my life. What she did to that baby was beyond cruel and just plain sadistic. She's inhuman.

I wish her nothing but misery, pain and boredom for the rest of her life.

Bloody hell I'm just sitting in the garden reading all this tit and a bloody bird has tit on me. At least it went on my jeans and not the washing which I've just done.
Muck for luck, get the lotto on...crappy legs!

Would blood also make it 'mucky' ? Or is this a separate issue?

I pray she hasn't hurt that baby 'down below' I have a weird feeling about it. Like I don't want to read the next part
No I think the implication is that the baby has injected some blood from their mouth and further evidence that she had delayed in flagging the bleeding to the doctor.

ETA: I re read that bit and no longer sure this is the case. I think Nick is saying she lied in her defence statement.

Bile comes up from the gallbladder, so if you've got a blockage it backs up. It's green, rather than yellow.

She'll have said it trying to push NEC, but like you say she's now stuck - NEC babies are unwell and she's just admitted he was doing well, plus in her timeline she's left him for an hour plus until he started bleeding.

thanks for explaining. She’s screwed. How anyone can claim there is reasonable doubt my for Baby E is beyond me.

What a surprise, not. Nothing in her nursing notes when she said there would be. Given time to find what she's evidenced in her nursing notes, and zilch.

As hurtful and tearful this trial is, I'm trying to turn it round into a positive as this (imo) gives those babies a voice if that makes sense. She's evil
I agree. The lawyers involved in these types of cases do a fantastic job of giving these babies a voice, as NJ is showing. It's a big responsibility and I'm sure he is spurred on by the parents sitting there too, relying on him to get justice done. The prosecution for Star Hobson was great too.

It really hits home how much blood there must have been if he passed it in his stool and it was noticeable. The more evidence she give the more real and horrific it all becomes, like you said amsmall 🙁

I remembered the same so had to go double check!! I was in court that day of defence and saw the diagram. It’s all round the mouth like a moustache and goatee. There is no way you would forget if you were Lucy or be mistaken if you were mum.
That's horrific 😢 that poor baby :(

There is no way mum would be mistaken about that. Baby E's mum has incredible strength and self restraint to sit there and listen to everything and not jump across to the witness box and throttle LL. I'm not a mum but if something like that happened to one of my friends' babies I wouldn't be able to contain my rage.

Cant remember who said about seeing BM's face (sorry) - I reckon they are all brilliant poker players. Unlike me, who's every unfiltered thought flits straight across my face :ROFLMAO:

ETA whose ffs, not who's

She's even more screwed now, because there's nothing about blood in his nappy in the nursing notes she wrote.

So far for Baby E:
  • Lied about the timeline, because in the Mum's timeline she's witnessed her attacking her son
  • Lied about the cause of death, blaming raw sewage when infection was never proposed by the defense
  • Lied about the aspirates
  • Lied about the presence of blood on his face
  • Lied about the rash
  • Lied in the defence statement
  • Lied about her notes on the stand

kind of a half truth here. Yes the doctors could have acted sooner - except it was her who left it as long as she could.
