Out of interest, what happens to her if she is found innocent? It’s too late for her to get a new identity (her face has been plastered all over the news), I doubt she’d be able to emigrate as she probably has no funds (would she even be accepted as an immigrant!?) and even if found innocent, there are a hell of a lot of people who think she is guilty and, rightly or wrongly, would want to see her come to a lot of harm! Just curious as to what happens in these scenarios.

I know this will have been discussed before but why is Dr no name not named? Loads of other colleagues have been named that have given evidence so why is no name anonymous?

i think because he would get absolutely mobbed if he was named. I think also they say it’s something to do with being named changing the extent you give evidence

Sorry going over old ground here 🥱 Those saying there’s no evidence… Very simple one here… Don’t you find it very odd that she is the only member of staff in that hospital that was present at every single incident? I mean, that’s really very unlucky for poor, innocent Lucy, isn’t it?

10 other deaths on the ward in the time period and it’s yet to be said whether she was present at any of these. So for me she’s not present at all the incidents yet

I think Insulin is likely to be treated as a controlled drug after this trial.

I doubt it because realistically, she could’ve contaminated the bag and caused an overdose with pretty much any drug she had access to as a nurse working in a hospital.

She got away with it for the best part of a whole year because senior hospital staff failed to listen to the concerns of the consultants as early as June/July 2015.

If it’s easy to believe the babies died because the hospital was shit, why is it hard to believe she got away with it for so long because the hospital was shit?

The fact that nothing was done to combat this shows that even the senior staff thought the rise in deaths was due to the hospital being shite, how can the death rate triple senior staff be warned about what’s going on and still do nothing. There must have been something seriously wrong at this hospital for the seniors to think that the death rate could triple and it wasn’t something to make a fuss about

I'm firmly in the guilty camp, however please don't lynch me for this as I read everyone thinks the opposite - am I too nice a person that I can't see a bad person in front of me? She sounds like she might be innocent by the way she talks(I know it's no indicator and it sounds rehearsed) I'm so confused as I do feel she is guilty despite this. I'm not sure what I'm trying to say. I guess we don't know what a baby killer would sound like/say.

I feel exactly the same. I also really really want to know what happened to her cats. The fact that she is a cat lady sways me a bit (. I am a sad bastard I know). but I think she is guilty, I think there is no other explanation

I’m all for free speech but it works both ways. I’m afraid that people suggesting there is no evidence of murder just aren’t paying attention. Letby herself when questioned by police, speculated on who might have given the fatal dose of insulin.

It seems some people want cctv footage of letby cackling and running her hands as she injects air into a a baby but unfortunately the evidence is much more subtle than that. Several babies died that experts say shouldn’t have died. Several experts testify there are anomalies suggesting these children died as a a result of air or insulin etc. The single common factor at these deaths is Letby. Then add in all the other stuff like the text chats, the Facebook searches, the handover sheets. Isolated, they mean nothing, but together they form a pretty compelling picture of guilt.

Who did she speculate might have given insulin? I’ve missed that.

Do we know when she was first suspended? It says 18 months but is that 18 months since she was first suspended or how long the suspension is in place for.

2020 is when the NMC put the first in I think!

Maybe those in the profession can elaborate, but she’s not actually writing reflections is she?

She’s writing ‘LD - initials’ sometimes resus . It’s a prompt to remind her of something significant. If she was innocent wouldn’t she be writing more detail and reflecting on the actual significant event ?

It’s not like BM or LL are going to present a different timeline of events in which the hospital did do something sooner?

They didn’t. So yeah to you its “impossible” or “incredibly unlikely” and I think that too but it happened. No one is disputing that. Even if you take alleged foul play out of it, they still didn’t do anything about the increased deaths which to me I also think is an impossible scenario but it’s the reality. They didn’t do anything to investigate it, they sat on it & hoped it would go away.

I think the suspicion around LL has been exaggerated, I don’t think at the time of the insulin any body could have genuinely thought she was a killer and it was allowed to carry on,

If she is found guilty of being a serial killer, do you think she could control that impulse to kill and harm from when she was redeployed in 2016 to her finally being taken into custody in 2020 (I think I have that date right)? As in will the behaviour just stop??? I don’t know enough about SK behaviour but I wonder if it is unusual to be arrested and interviewed released on bail 3x.

There's a distinct lack of personal stories in this case. Usually people are falling over themselves to tweet or comment on Facebook even media interviews about how they knew them and they have always been odd or that they were always outwardly nice and its a shock.
Other than the reddit post and at the very start of news breaking a few people said many of her colleagues believed she was innocent and a scape goat, there's nothing. Never did see actual evidence her colleagues believed this but I imagine none of them would comment regardless. But still school friends uni friends long lost cousins there's just very little.

i think i read someone who went to uni with her too and just described her as ‘normal’
