Just caught up, absolutely shocked she took the stand, I was not expecting that at all....anyway as I was reading had a random thought...if she is found NG...Will she be compensated in any way for her time spent being bars? Or for the emotional distress etc?

I think it's crazy for people to think LL isn't guilty of murdering babies because they can't bare to think that someone would be so evil.

I think a lot of people, not tryna be patronising in any way, probably think NG because they’ve never actually come across this type of complex character before, and the crying at her house, crying at her arrest doesn’t seem so strange but to anyone who’s encountered this type of narcissist you know exactly what script they follow, how the attention from bad things happening to them is like an addiction that needs to be fuelled, their constant need for affirmation

Are you suggesting the extreme hypo was from the normal amount of fast acting insulin he’d had some time beforehand when he needed it? I think that takes an incredible stretch to get there. I think I’ll go with the professor’s evidence. It’s so significant now because somebody has understood the significance of the results. The amount of insulin they had been given was at the limit of what the machines could read. What about baby L who was given even more?

The insulin wasn't at the limit of what the machine could read, the c-peptide was at the lowest the machine could read. According to the Wiki, anyway. And again, according to the Wiki, Dr Beech - who was there at the time, understood the test results.


The Wiki says:

The insulin reading is 4,657.

The insulin c-pep reading is less than 169.

Dr Beech says the insulin reading is "very high" - while there is no 'normal upper limit', that reading could be considered high, the court hears.

The insulin c-pep reading is the lowest reading the machine can record.

Can I ask then what if the defence don’t really offer a solid defence? Let’s say they don’t provide reasonable explanations for the deaths & the insulin. They basically just have the defence of “she didn’t do it” Where would that leave you then? (I know this is hypothetical as we don’t know what the defence have to present) but if you were just left with the prosecution evidence which included several medical experts saying these babies had been harmed deliberately?

ETA - I know you’ve said it’s not convinced you but just wondering if it would should the defence be poor if that makes sense?

I think less is more with the defence here. I think it’s more likely that they talk too much and give some bullshit explanations to things that don’t seem to fit, I could maybe still change my mind but only if the defence really talk a load of nonsense

Just watching it on the news now, it’s talking about the fact she thought she shouldn’t have been caring for those types of babies in the first place. What does that even mean? They should have been at a different hospital or a different part of COCH?

If she was worrying all the way back in 2016 she knows she murdered those poor babies there's no other reason she would worry about police involvement other than she's guilty as sin. Besides why would an innocent person worry if they had done no wrong as it would be shown said innocent person had done no wrong.

I don’t believe it’s impossible for a killer to change their method. I just think given these particular circumstances it seems like the worst choice she could have possibly made. It doesn’t seem like a logical move to me is all and My opinion is based on loads of different things it’s far more than just the lack of logic in what they allege. I’ve always had doubts and having now heard the prosecution in full they just didn’t have enough to fully convince me.

Along these lines, if she is Guilty, wouldn't she have covered her tracks better? thrown away the hand written confessions? shredded all those handover notes? it's kind of Serial Killer 101! or is it sheer arrogance that made her think she didn't need to bother?
she seems a bit gormless to me, rather than a cold-blooded killer. But who knows, maybe it's all an act.
