Something you just said made things fall into place.
A new bespoke TPN bag was ordered from pharmacy.
That MUST surely mean that they were using a stock bag temporarily until a new bag arrived. If they had reconnected the first bag, there would have been no reason to change it (given, of course, that they had no idea or thought that the first bag was contaminated and would not have any idea for at least another week)
Instead, the intention was to replace it with one tailored for the baby. Meaning that the bag used between 10am and 4pm had to have been a stock bag.

I’m so confused as to how insulin levels could continue to be high / glucose levels low just from contaminated lines if the bag had been replaced. Or; are they saying that the insulin levels potentially had been much higher, but when the blood was drawn it was 4,765? Can someone survive levels higher than that?!

I’m not sure if it is something to do with this but I have defo watched 2 court things in the uk dated in November.

She might not have know the line would tissue but like others have said there might have already been a plan to change bags and one taken out of the fridge. She may have also just taken a guess they may use one and even if they didn’t, she would then have another victim it was used for someone else. Charles Cullen didn’t tamper with all bags, just random ones.

Bags may not have been in any particular order but how are they stored e.g in a pile so you would typically just take the top one? So many unanswered questions but still opportunity for her to tamper with the second bag. Not being on shift when it was hung does not rule her out.

But isn't part of the prosecutions case that she attacked specific babies which have a link between them. How does contaminating random bags fit with that

doesn’t change the fact that in baby F’s case he shouldn’t have been given insulin on August 4th/5th. What is it you are pondering in regards to this ? Pharmaceutical error ? Or someone taking it upon themselves to add insulin to the bag because they felt baby f needed and the TPn bag was the way to do it?
I have no idea if insulin should or shouldn’t be added to a bag. The prosecution seem to state not, they said something along the lines of it binding to the bag. Not sure on this though.

Yes, but I think the machine used could only record a maximum reading of 500.
The baby’s reading reached that level but who knows how much higher it could have been?
Oops! Am I wrong on that? Might have to re-read the wiki.

Sorry I mean the blood and cpeptide level, the same readings as this baby?

Don’t know if it’s posted on here but she’s (LL) is on an interim suspension order. It’s concurrent but annoyingly I can’t see when it started as that would give us an idea of when she was found out theoretically. I maintain though they won’t let her back on the register if she’s found
Not guilty due to her bringing the profession into such disrepute and that’s a huge thing to them. Also so is honesty. And it’s clear she’s lied etc
So it’s all over for her moving forwards. If she’s found not guilty she’ll need a new life and new name as no one will
Leave her alone. Like someone said I think she may take her own life. Unless she’s really unhinged that she thrives off drama ‍

Started 2020 which is when she got arrested I think?

Wonder what her friends think!? Wonder if any of her defence will have friends on the stand or people giving character witness statements.

Yes a daily transcript would be good but one of the very early threads someone said even the jury don’t get a transcript of what’s said on the stand!

It was no problem adding a section, added near the start of the first page. It will only become a problem if I eventually run out of space but will cross that bridge later.

I can’t remember if there has been anything else released yet.

This is LL even confirming the insulin would be administered by accident, even she knows that saying it could be an accident does not make sense. Also she asks about the tpn bag. And it’s child L that is the next insulin (I’d said M earlier but it’s deffo L)

See this is where the wording gets me - were they specifically talking about this incident in the interview, or generically 'insulin doesn't get administered accidentally'. It feels like one of those massive red flags that actually could be lost in translation a little?

No it’s because another nurse noted that the contents of the bags in stock on the ward didn’t look right. They wouldn’t leak if something was injected through the self-sealing injection port, only if it was injected through the bag itself, which no-one would do as they’d the leak, revealing that they’d been tampered with.

Thanks, I am sure I read something about a nurse noting there was fluid all over the stock room. I will go back and see if I can find it.

@slingo16 Testing blood sugar levels and insulin levels are two very separate tests. Blood sugar levels only indicate that something is going on and a patient needs to be treated accordingly, ie, either through synthetic insulin or dextrose. There is no way the hospital would have known had they not requested the Insulin/c -peptide levels as this is not routinely done.

Moreover, had baby F passed away from hypoglycaemia, before they managed to intervene, they would have assumed from the readings that it was due to naturally occurring hypoglycaemia. Equally, If they didn’t investigate after or view it as suspicious at the time, it is likely the bloods taken to test their blood sugar would have been long gone!

Why did they do the test in this case? I can’t remember
