Chester marathon is not an easy course. Hill at the start, mile 18 and mile 25 with long lonely straights. However there are about 3 miles from mile 2 that are downhill and people get carried away and burn out.... its not a forgiving course at all. Could be interesting. She has potential to do very well but needs to be realistic and carb load properly!!

I don’t think we’d ever know because she isn’t an “elite” athlete so not sure they’d test Lucy. But I do think sometimes she is on stuff - particularly when her training was quite crazy volume. I feel irritated Puma selected her. She doesn’t really promote the brand and is all about her own asene or whatever it’s called. I love Puma running and feel she is a mistake for them

Why is she training like she’s pregnant by strapping in some sort of fake belly??? And filming it like she knows what it’s like. This is just weird. And it’s so much more than just a bit more weight / bump. Tbh that was the least of my issues with training when pregnant.

I don’t think either of them as shared but Ben did a video recently and he sounded like he’d been in a VERY dark place at points since their split

Todays time makes me wonder what she could do if she just focused on running, to get that time when it hasn’t been your complete focus is unbelievable!

Maybe because they were more couple friends , it’s just sort of fallen apart since Lucy broke up with her husband. I find this a lot with influencer friendships. They are quite intense and then there is maybe a fall out behind the scenes. Phily Bowden and Zana will be another one at some point!

This was the moment she lost all integrity for me. Do not dare try and make out that was your fastest ever 30k when your moving and elapsed times differ by 8 minutes. Good run, yes, but not what you're making it out to be!! She is a good runner but far from an expert in it at all and I am starting to really lose the will with these people who think that they know it all because they are able to run themselves....🙄🙄🙄

i saw her at london on sunday and must say i take back what i said about her not being that muscular, she’s a lot bigger than she looks in photos and she looked so good out there she was flying! not to discredit her efforts and time but i think she was aiming for sub 3 hours, she’s posted on insta she was aiming for sub 3:15 but on tik tok sub 3:11 🤨 we may be wrong my husband is a seasoned marathon/ultra runner and said those are strange time mile stones to aim for. would be more genuine if she came out and said i was aiming for sub 3 but wasn’t too far away ect…. she did amazing anyway, better than i’ll ever run lol but just wondering if she’s hiding some disappointment for sub 3.

I’ve run a 2:51 marathon according to strava. My actual pb is 2:54 at London. I would never ever quote the strava one!!! (In fact I just had to go in and see what it said it was)

I’m surprised she wasn’t quicker to be honest. V surprised! Obviously still a very rapid time but I just think the training and athlete mindset / history would get her there.

I don’t mind her gym content but the running aspect grates on me. I will never understand why she does all her runs in the Nike tempos, even easy runs! To me they are a faster day workout shoe. Where is the shoe rotation?! Then it also bothers me she wears gym shark tops to run in that really don’t look sweat wicking or breathable

Who's calling Valencia? I'm genuinely surprised she didn't hit the 2:54 and from early on wasn't on track for it, but then anything can happen in a marathon and from memory, I had to weave a lot in berlin! Especially the first 10k!!!

Cue another “I’m too skinny” post from Lucy, because she ran a marathon, did Everest base camp, then another marathon. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that 3 endurance events will take its toll 😞

yes and I don’t think she’s trained at fast enough paces to run sub 3 yet. She’s need to run about 14 secs per mile faster to get a sub 3 from where she is now. And that is not easy over 26 miles!!
I’m a woman and much less go under 3 hours than men, it’s quite a big difference. I’ve placed around 60th female at London before, and in the same race when my male friends ran 5 mins quicker than me, they were like 1500th male or something.
That's amazing and so fast, truly in awe 🙏. I could go on with a huge list of my pet peeves but most of them relate to the ignorance about womens/mens athletics 'women run slower because they're less competitive' (fuck off), 'that's not that fast, I can faster than that' (a guy having no clue that a guy running a fast km is not the same as a woman running that speed for long distance). I once had to do a mile for time for an unrelated sport which requires good cardio (for US college team), I got placed in the section with all guys (about 20) and of course all the men started sprinting and gassed after 400m, as I'm running I start picking off the guys and some unathletic guy has the audacity to patronize me with 'good job, keep it up!'. When I got to the end some guy asked me 'what time did you get?' me: '6 min' him: 'that's not possible, that would place you as a top female track athlete in the state, you must have miscounted a lap' (my time was measured by the coaches too). That still irks me massively because it's completely untrue.

I reckon womens sub-3 is equiv to men's 2:35? and men's sub-3 womens 3:35 (just going by Boston qualifying times).

Just me who found that a very self indulgent bodycheck? =/ and as you say after that amount of endurance training... No surprise...
Yes she gets annoyed when people comment on her body being manly or too skinny etc but then does tons of posts about just that. Fuelling the fire.

weird she goes on about being more muscular than other runners (those runners would not have even noticed her physique to be honest); but also goes on about wanting to regain lost muscle after Everest. Think the ED is still lurking for her..

why does she constantly go on about how much muscle she has i actually cringe when she says things like ‘as a runner who carries more muscle’ or ‘because of all the muscle i have’ 😑 i think she believes she has the same muscle mass as say tia claire toomey but to me she just looks lean rather than massive…

I'm surprised she stopped with the other woman, I thought her ego would want to go one up on her and beat her. I do think she will end up doing an IronMan in next few years.

I think lucy will easily do her goal of 2:54. Berlin is flat and she’s done the training. I think she will do closer to 2:50. Plus she’s got the mental strength which means A LOT in the marathon

I totally feel the same. There’s a local coaching place to me that has an annual competition and photoshoot for people make the biggest progression (a complete ick for other reasons) who can win holidays and money and it’s always PTs who win

Hyrox really should have some sort of ban for “professionals” in the open. Especially when they are gaining financially from it. I’m actually at the point I couldn’t give a flying fuck about who wins hyrox when it comes to people who have the ability to train all day.
