I am in awe of her dedication but Lucy is starting to annoy me.. Her 'getting my booty back' messaging is super positive but Why did she have to put her current and previous weights in there? Was that really necessary girl. Think it was on her story

What has Steph run time wise? This is Lucy’s first marathon, a newbie. But yes, she probably shouldn’t bang on about coaching / advising people when she’s not actually experienced it herself. I’ve run 6 marathons (all faster than hers I might add 😜) and not entirely sure I’d know how to coach someone else to a marathon…

They talk a lot about kids and she's come off contraception I presume to conceive but I can't help think neither of them are ready for just how much their lives will change

I don’t know if on the podcast Ben is just trying to wind her up or if those are his actual opinions. Like she’s just got back from a trip she’s describing as life changing and he can’t even come up with bucket list places to visit and where she’s just been doesn’t even interest him. Feels like they’re in very different places
i like lucy but really struggle to listen to the pod because of his attitude! from the very get go of this episode he spoke in an argumentative way to both lucy and cal… they must both have a lot of patience to put up with him because i would be telling him to grow the fuck up if he spoke to me the way he speaks to lucy most of the time!

It’s all fun and games in your 20s- in ten years time she will be regretting it. I know from experience how differently your body responds to injuries after 30!
As a 34 year old with 2 dodgy wrists and a dodgy knee, AMEN to this! It’s so easy to think you’re invincible when you’re in your teens/20’s, and you never stop to think about things catching up to you long term. I miss youth 😭

Is she still friends with Nuttyfoodiefitness (Steph)? Both in Berlin, no mention of each other. Also is Kim, Lucy’s boyfriend? They seem very close
I assume there’s been a falling out as no mention of each other for a while despite always being so close? They were also friends with her ex husband so I do wonder if it’s something to do with that or because Steph also now works with BPN? Lucy seems like the type of person who doesn’t want the great things that happen to her to also happen to the people around her if that makes sense

surely the pressure of the hyrox wr is getting to her. its a shame really shes already spoke about the pressure she puts on herself now shes got a bpn series around the goal and all the comments saying shes going to get it.. that kind of expectation would break me

It’s not as if these marathons need the promo boost either, is it?!
Agreed. I’d rather they use these free places to support people who might not otherwise have had a chance to run, or who make a positive impact in their community. Watching people like Lucy or those who make up those ridiculous Flora teams is just a major eye roll for me. They add absolutely nothing

In my opinion, for someone who doesn't "race" it's a very Billy big balls assumption she can go sub 3. I've managed it 4 times but I know many many people who whoop my ass in shorter distances and just can't break 3 hours and they are much better runners than she is. She needs a coach but also needs to prioritise running for a sub 3 training block. And after she has had a child (if this happens!). You can be sailing to sub 3 for 20 miles and then lose it all in the final 10k. In my opinion she is way too flippant about running. She needs to 100% admit she got chester very very wrong! She went out at 7 minute miles!!!! And had no idea about the course?! Definitely either needs a coach and to drop the ego. She 100% wanted a much quicker time than she got in Chester and she ballsed it up... much learning to do. You can be as fit as a dog but if your legs aren't primed for the racing distance then you have no chance....

That “luck” reel made me cringe. Copy of Becky Briggs too. I do think lucy should acknowledge being naturally a bit good at running. It’s not as if she started off with 9 min miles she was right in there at the 8 min mile mark and doing 10k plus in no time. I’m a fast endurance runner and admit that some of that is down to my make up. Some people will never run a sub 3 hour marathon no matter what they do, how they train, or the effort they put in. I can with the right training and a lot of hard work and part of that is just down to how I’m made.

So she ran a marathon on Sunday, it’s now Thursday and she’s already done a relatively speedy 10K, an 80 minute HIIT workout, and 65 minutes on the stair stepper 🥴
Give yourself a break love. Particularly if your feet are fucked

I’m not sure she’ll cope with the way she looks either. When she did the 100K, she seemed to mentally struggle quite a bit when she lost some muscle mass (yet still looked incredible). What’s going to happen when she’s pregnant or after she gives birth and may need to take time out of training?

Anyone else a bit tired of influencer run clubs? Doing an event like this requires stuff like risk assessments, insurance, and loads of leaders, yet they take a massive group of people on a jolly through central London without thought or care 🙈 apparently 150 people signed up and Lucy somehow thinks that’s okay between the three or four of them!!

i think its telling that she is thriving without him and is genuinely glowing at the moment, as if he was holding her back meanwhile everytime he pops up on my fyp he comes across bitter and desperate. i am really liking her content recently and although i do think she must be taking something to enhance her recovery i just cant help but watch and enjoy

Never watch a you tube video of hers but just started the one about marathons and muscle and why is she putting on make up at the start? What an odd way to film a you tube video about running!! I find her annoying that she’s run a bit and now thinks she knows everything. Stopped watching it - too irritating!

She’s definitely also got the advantage of being a high level competitive athlete from a young age and the mental strength which comes with that… but marathons are hard whatever the course, so will be interesting to see how she copes with the challenging hills etc. And yes, I’ve not seen her talk much about fuelling and that really is key in particular for those last 6.2 miles

That's amazing and so fast, truly in awe 🙏. I could go on with a huge list of my pet peeves but most of them relate to the ignorance about womens/mens athletics 'women run slower because they're less competitive' (fuck off), 'that's not that fast, I can faster than that' (a guy having no clue that a guy running a fast km is not the same as a woman running that speed for long distance). I once had to do a mile for time for an unrelated sport which requires good cardio (for US college team), I got placed in the section with all guys (about 20) and of course all the men started sprinting and gassed after 400m, as I'm running I start picking off the guys and some unathletic guy has the audacity to patronize me with 'good job, keep it up!'. When I got to the end some guy asked me 'what time did you get?' me: '6 min' him: 'that's not possible, that would place you as a top female track athlete in the state, you must have miscounted a lap' (my time was measured by the coaches too). That still irks me massively because it's completely untrue.

I reckon womens sub-3 is equiv to men's 2:35? and men's sub-3 womens 3:35 (just going by Boston qualifying times).
Thank you! That bloke sounds like a dick! Some of my male club runners moan “how easy” championship entry and GFA is for women 🙄
Sorry, mate - you have to get proportionally as fast as me to get in the champs 😄
Men’s is sub 2:40 and women’s sub 3:14. And you do have to look at the elites. Women about 12-15 mins slower than men at the top end.

The Hyrox results are all messed up online since they changed the tracking over at Manchester onwards. It's showing people with the wrong rankings, wrong timings, wrong nationalities, wrong ages.
