There’s a cautionary tale for children here, written by a lonely old woman living in an ivory tower scrub that a cold annex. An old woman bitter because despite everything she did to be beautiful nothing worked. Youthful looks fade but true beauty comes from within (plus a healthy diet, avoiding excessive alcohol, avoiding the sun.) A truly beautiful face is etched with happiness not by needles and knives.

The whole bit about the fitting etc is just standard. I wonder how long since she last got checked? My ears are also couture - on the NHS. Hers are a bit fancier than mine which are battery and don't automatically adjust but no doubt the cost will come down. Every time I've had a new NHS set, there's been improvements. I like having my audio played through my hearing aids via Bluetooth - no more need for headphones. Anyone want to give her the news that she could have had better aids all along on the NHS with all us poors?

I live in France. I have rechargeable Bluetooth hearing aids from Amplifon, but the French health service helped out with the cost and they are also insured for 3 years. The sound quality is amazing!

Oh Liz the world’s best animal owner who is the supreme rescuer but learns nothing about animal behaviour. Look at me taking on animals that i can write about how wonderful I am so much better than any other person who owned them. Oooh I have taken on a foreign “rescue”. I’m super but he has problems. Why does she never think that removing a dog from everything it knows and putting it in a domestic environment in a foreign country won’t do it any good. oooh they should be grateful to lady bountiful Liz.
She can’t afford another dog hahaha send the marble topped kitchen monstrosity back then. Shuck yer corn over the sink.
I have dogs, I have horses, I’m older than her and the difference is I try and understand animals reactions from their perspective first.
Yesterday the ex stud dog who came to live with me five months ago did a quick dive and stole my daughter’s dog treat after eating his. Not the behaviour that needs encouragement but oh but it made me happy because he’s showing his confidence at last, he hadn’t lived in a domestic environment before so it’s a long journey of learning for him. It takes as long as it takes.
please Liz no more dogs.

She can't take care of the ones she's got! Why add another poor animal to the mix.

What a selfish cowboy she is! All of these poor dogs, cats and horses are just copy to her, aren't they?

I notice she says she will take the spaniel to see if they bond, her. Not take it to meet her other dogs and see if they accept it into the chaotic household. The poor thing will not be fed dog food, it will have prawns and some such unsuitable food to appease juggo.

My latest addition showed how at home he is now by snoring beside me on the sofa, finally able to go into a deep sleep. He's a rescued Omani wadi dog who lived with my friend when she was teaching there but her housing wouldn't let her keep him when she came back to the UK and he needed to get used to a new country, new home and being part of a pack again. With the Romanian girls, it was when they stopped being on their best behaviour.

We know you read here so can I just say.......we all know you don't live in a vicarage in North Yorkshire. You live in an annexe to a vicarage in County Durham. Stop being such a fucking snob!

Everything she does fails , the “ novels” that sank without a trace , the tour that was mysteriously cancelled , the “ podcast” that was just beyond horrible with her screeching voice & completely inane content .

The ONLY thing keeping her afloat & known is the column - and we all know it’s an utter mystery how she manages to hang on to it.
