Obviously you can’t assume too much from what we’ve seen but it looks like he was already driving like a fool. You see some kind of altercation and he seems to be reversing into the group of guys which sets them off
Right?! If you're driving into me or - worse - my kid, you're damn right I'll pound the duck out your car.

Something like a car reversing or going forward into you is going to give you a jump scare.

Because it keeps us distracted and arguing amongst ourselves?
This is pure tinfoil. Like the previous poster said there were thousands of people with camera phones there. Do you genuinely think the guy won’t be prosecuted or they’ll hang it on someone else in spite of hundreds of raging scousers seeing the guy up close and baying for his blood? To what end?

Maybe he was drunk/drugs and were trying to stop him
Surely they wouldn't have known that though? I wouldn't have said before the incident that it looked like he was being a bad driver to think he was drunk/drug driving? He was going slow and maybe just took a wrong turn and obviously wasn't the only one who went that way as there was another car Infront of him

I've seen a video online of what must be before the major attack. Seems like he's getting frustrated driving through the crowds and men start punching and kicking his car. You then see him drive off erratically into the crowd. His defence is 100% going to be self defence saying he was scared of his own safety. Not that it obviously warrants weaving left to right to knock as many people down as possible.
This is what it looks like to me, an entitled twit of a middle aged man (aren’t they always) who’s got pissed off because he couldn’t drive down the street he wanted to go down. I’ve actually witnessed similar behaviour at a much smaller event. God forbid a man can’t get where he wants to get to.

I thought he was doing that after they started to attack his car I'm assuming to try and get them off his car?

Not being treated as terrorism.

The driver is the 53 year old white man (not all men!) from Liverpool. Thoughts and prayers with the racists who were part way into constructing a conspiracy theory.

They might have, who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ lots of people do drive under the influence
I think it said cars were allowed up the road at that point. We'll find out more when stuff gets released

No deaths from the sound of that fantastic news
and this is why I hate the rumour mill that circulates, no deaths is great news, yet I got a message off a friend that was there and someone else on here was told by someone “who knows someone” at the hospital of deaths.

what kind of person spreads lies like that.

I find it crazy how a couple of people have posted on here saying their “friends” or “families” who work at the local hospitals have confirmed x amount of people dead. When there are in fact, no one dead. (Thank god). Rumours are shocking.

This says that the roads would be closed until 10pm, but if The Strand had been reopened are these drivers wrong to ensure that the side roads were open too? It seems like they found themselves on a road full of people. One driver reacted in rage and caused a lot of harm.

It's a miracle that it seems there's only 2 seriously injured out of them all

He was going towards the strand, not from it
