We were at water street when it happened, on videos you can see me and my family so clearly so close to the car. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever witnessed on what was an amazing day. Everyone on that street were in high spirits, it was full of laughter and people singing songs until that scumbag ruined it all. And to the dickheads using this as an opportunity to rip Liverpool and scousers, what about the hundreds of scousers who drove for miles to take people home out of the city? The hundreds of scousers who were taking family’s in to safety? The hundreds of scousers going round passing out portable chargers, water and food? Any reason to give us scousers shit people are straight on it, there’s no need when something so disgusting has happened that has affected multiple lives.

I know they're a minority of people in the city but there's so many awful people in that city.

How and why are people turning this into a Liverpool city bashing thread? Honestly. Some people went out to watch their teams trophy parade today and ended up under a fucking car. I was there with my two very young children and to think we were 5 mins from being caught up in this absolutely shakes me to the core. It’s nothing to do with the city, the crime rates. It could have happened to anyone and anywhere. Seriously, those taking it as a chance to have a swipe at the city - have a day off 🥱

It was funny last night watching the same old faces like Farage, Robinson, Fox, Grimes etc getting so worked up about this and saying we are all in terrible danger it’s all Starmers fault, and then the denial and fury when police announced it was a ‘white British male’ ‘it’s a cover up, they’re lying’ and then finally when footage proved it was a while middle aged man ‘oh he accidentally drove down the street, got surrounded by rowdy football fans and panicked’. Fucks sake the footage shows him deliberately driving into the crowd and running people over, but because it’s one of their own it has to excused in some way. My boyfriend has got caught up in this. Thankfully him and his friends are fine. I couldn’t stay at home watching the news so I’ve driven to Liverpool as I couldn’t get hold of him, a 2 hour journey on the M62. I’ve never felt fear like it before in my life.

Absolutely, and I should probably give people some grace - in a scary situation with lots of other people you're probably not gonna act rationally. But my pointnis it just didn’t seem like he was immediately driving at people as in a deliberate attack. He was hesitant at first and only sped up when people started attacking the car.
I get that it's easy to sit back in situations like this and say 'if everyone just acted calmly and sensibly none of this would have happened' that's not human nature, I know.

Maybe I’m off the mark but all the articles saying he was a good neighbour, dedicated family man, wife a Sunday school teacher. They had to be educated that they meant West Derby the area in Liverpool and not a location west of Derby
