We know she loves a big attention seeking event but is she going to go and volunteer at a community centre some day in the Nationalist or PUL community and centre their work in the community anytime soon? Same goes for the Belfast Lord Mayor who does duck all.
I saw him yesterday 😂 another that has those chains glued to his neck.

None of her story makes sense. Her brother serves happily in the Kenyan parliament while she supposedly had to flee the country. Prominent family in Kenya. Family members travelling from Kenya to Ireland for investiture. Doesn't sound like she is genuinely under threat. Nowt I see that justifies her being a refugee in Derry
It’s usually the gov put you under threat but most of her family sit on the Kenya gov she worked with the police so I’m sure the village elders ( alleged threat) would’ve been easily arrested and incarcerated by the brutal police force.

That’s definitely not her in the comments
If it is her it is extremely unprofessional. If it isn’t her it is extremely unprofessional.

Haha did you see this one?

Wow! That thread is something else!

This guy has called her a Covid denier? Does anyone have receipts of this ?

Don’t know about COVID denier ?

Was it this?

I don’t really remember much about the incident other than thinking actually they shouldn’t have all been out in a large group protesting something that happened in another continent just to get virtue signalling points when I was sitting at home not seeing my parents for months to protect them. Likewise the other group that did the counter protest a week later.

There were people fined for delivering Easter eggs outside of the curfew.

Running from the elders of a village when she had armed military at hand 🧐

Several points. There is absolutely discrimination against migrants.
however I haven’t been to Derry for 20 years. I do want to go as I would like a look around and think I have heard of a couple of nice restaurants but I can never remember which side of town I should be on. And I don’t mean that in a bad way but the facts are there is still a big massive divide and I would like to see funding focused on the 98% of the community plus the 2% immigrants to bring everyone together rather than firing all the money at a small, questionable person. I appreciate she may have made a difference in that young girl’s life but there are so many kids from all sides in Derry/Londonderry who could do with a leg up first.
And I know I don’t live there @monga and you do so if I have spoken out of turn for the actual needs of the area then feel free to correct me but this is just the impression I get from having lived in this country for 40 years.
IMO the GFA never really addressed the mistrust between communities, it was all yay, xyz aren’t going to blow anyone up any more but no one actually continued to look at the human impact. Not blowing people up is the bare minimum but living as a society with others should have been the goal.

She isn’t on the wiki ‘notable’ lishttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maasai_people

Yet this woman appears to have actually helped reduce FGM

5000 girls in 5 years is 3 per day. I don’t see how Lil could have done this…….. unless…… she’s lying?

So they did nab him for a photo op after all even Colum graced the people of Derry with his presence even if it was in private 😐…She really needs to ban her hubby from her SM .

---
States on Kenyan news channel that she’s running the city 🙄 it’s clear these constant photo engagements are to make it look like she’s more successful than she is to her own nation , makes their family seem more influential across the world, mayor is nothing but a token position that anyone in council can hold not like in Africa where it’s only those with positions hold it 🙄

Yeah, the mayor role seems to be one which the parties share and everyone gets a turn. So the SDLP will have known they were up next probably a couple of years ago. Generally these roles would have been given to long standing hard working councillors. I actually feel so bad for those two that resigned from the party as they had earned the opportunity and have had the honour taken away from them by someone who only got elected without meeting the quota.

Wonder if she will try to become an MLA next? They would have to put her in the safest possible seat.

And that interview is a disgrace, she couldn’t run a bath.

I’d say that’s her aim ? Depending on how she does at the next council elections it might not be possible? One of the two that resigned is an independent councillor they could take a lot of the SDLP votes.

Don’t know what it is but he’s the presenter,

I see the migrants forum sharing a GFM to help a family move back to Belfast they’ve been given accommodation in Ballykelly.
Are there no hospitals in Derry or coleraine? And if they have been living and working here since 2019 they would be eligible for unemployment benefits/universal credit etc surely? I know the health service is a mess but they are reasonable enough with these type of things. However if it is that the only hospital is based in Belfast then that will be the same issues that every other family in the foyle face if they have misfortune and health issues- it is expensive and it isn’t right but that’s the way it is.
I would find it more believable if they suggested what was wrong with the baby that it needs so many hospital appointments. I just find every go fund me to be a scam right now so not buying this story AT ALL

Yeah they don’t deserve to be intimidated from their home but appealing for living expenses is a bit much when the general population is struggling to Afford accommodation and living costs.

I would just find the posts a lot more convincing if it was ‘family left home for emergency accommodation miles away and lost job. Would love to see about any job opportunities in the local area’ if I was an employer I would happily give someone a chance. And I’ve looked and there appear to be a number of jobs in Ballykelly/Limavady direction.

This...i don't get it. Plenty of families travel long distances for healthcare, whats special about this family? If I was a refugee I'd be grateful for accommodation in Northern Ireland wherever it is.

I also thought you couldn’t travel from Palestine but the grandmother is apparently travelling to visit but has no where to stay. Surely she could stay in the emergency house as I assume it is just a holiday? Unless she is planning to stay?

People from Derry have to travel to The Royal Children’s hospital or to the City hospital for cancer treatment , that’s just normal procedure! If their child is ill they’ll get disability benefits like any normal citizen I don’t get the GFM tbh?

There's a GFM for everything these days. I don't think the money gets to those who might need it much. Lots of greed.
