In response to your question, she's a massive grifter and shouldn't have been granted refugee status as it doesn't seem she was fleeing anything. Her brother happily serves as a Senator in Kenya and family members travelled from Kenya to attend her inauguration as mayor, so I don't see how her life was ever at risk in Kenya.
As mentioned above, she seems hungry for publicity opportunities every single day. is she actually doing any work?
I am guessing that she will be selected as a candidate for the Northern Ireland Assembly whenever the next election is.

Before anyone comes in and calls me racist, I'm no racist. I'm happy for any person to come legally or as a genuine refugee and to contribute to their new home, one of the ways they can do that is through public service as a politician. However this woman's story of her background and why she came to Derry stinks more than week fish left out in the sun and she comes across as more interested in photo ops and virtue signalling than anything else.

None of her story makes sense. Her brother serves happily in the Kenyan parliament while she supposedly had to flee the country. Prominent family in Kenya. Family members travelling from Kenya to Ireland for investiture. Doesn't sound like she is genuinely under threat. Nowt I see that justifies her being a refugee in Derry

This entire debacle has completely put me off the SDLP and I imagine I’m not alone, but nobody wants to admit it for fear of being labelled racist. She’s a complete narcissist who’s only out to feather her own nest. She has no care for the people of Derry and no respect for anything regarding this island. Disgusting.

I don't get it either.
I just checked and based on the census, Northern Ireland is 0.6 percent black. Asian ethnicity is actually higher, 1.6 percent!
'Other white' 5 percent, a lot of which must be Eastern European.
Why isnt there a Asian or Polish themed event at the Park?

Is there a Polish themed tea dance? I'd argue that that would have much more relevance to Northern Ireland than an African American themed tea dance. Big Polish community.
Re the African American theme - the best connection I can think of is that the US Civil Rights movement influenced the one in NI. But I don't think that's what she has in mind.

I could be wrong but I haven’t seen her do one function at a local youth group or community centre, it has all been solely the glamorous stuff. Maybe she is doing a Jack monroe and it is all “behind the scenes” but it seems like a party the whole time. As for the stoops it is disappointing. I feel so bad for the experienced councillors who probably should have been given this opportunity.

I can understand her wanting to have a black history month event but why is it African American when there have been successful black people in both NI/ROI who aren’t African American. But then for someone as ambitious as her knows where the money is. Why not even share her own culture that she is proud of?

But that song choice seems very self serving like she is a fucking hero. Whatever the war graves of whatever cause you don’t fucking post selfies and that song like you are some fucking hero when you have had a privileged life. She probably had a more privileged upbringing than 80% of us over here regardlesss of catholic or Protestant given her family are millionaires !
