Hopefully the 'threw himself into the void' bit is just an error in translation, as the Paynes don't need that debate rearing it's head again. 😕
It's very crass, isn't it? That's the phrase they've always used though. I thought originally it was because they thought he'd jumped, but it looks like that's the proper legal term/translation of the legal terminology. No doubt the conspiracy theorists thrive on it regardless.

It’s crazy how much his family and Kate lied to save Liams image…. He did have a phone and he clearly was using a lot to withstand that amount on what seems multiple occasions. They should be advocating for addicts and young musicians / stars and how destroying the entertainment industry is rather than make out that Liam was sober, didn’t have a phone, didn’t cheat on Kate and was an all round great father and in a great place because clearly it’s far far faaaar from the truth.

I met Leah Betts parents as a function and what a powerful couple, they really went into it and the dangers of drugs and it stuck with me.
And unfortunately, that's led to a lot of misplaced hate. I still don't understand why people believed he was sober on the day he died, at Niall's gig, or during all the times he met with fans outside his accommodation; it was abundantly clear he wasn't. It makes you wonder how he passed the drugs test for the American visa.

Am I correct in thinking Liam had ADHD? It's been a while since I've been on this thread, and I don't remember now.

Obviously not to this extent, but thinking back to when mine was poorly controlled, I can kind of understand how this happened. I used to actively look forward to situations when I was going to be alone, because it was the only time I could actually relax and not have to worry about people judging my weirdness, but unfortunately poor impulse control is part of having ADHD. It would start off great with my own little spa evening and something nice to eat, then rapidly descend into drinking so much I gave myself the fear, or spending money I didn't have on random crap that would end up in the bin a year later when I found it in a drawer.

I (obviously, I hope) can't relate to going on a sex worker and class A binge, but I never had the money or space to do that - I always had to be there for my daughter coming home from her grandparents, or to get up to go to work so there were some socially applied brakes. If money, leisure and family were no object, then I guess I don't like it but I can see how it happened.

The only thing throwing me out is that I have the worst guilt complex known to man, which wouldn't allow me to treat someone the way he did those women (including his partner), but...I think it's fairly well acknowledged that there's differences in the way men v women behave with ADHD.
I can't imagine being surrounded by Yes Men from the age of 16 helped much either.
I just wish he'd gone hime to his family and got himself better.

That whole article is disgusting. The photos of his hat and his bag after his death, tagged as evidence - they may as well have just published the photo of his body. As for the text exchange with the sex workers, does that really add anything valid to the circumstances of his death? The Mail have reached an all time low with this. 🤢🤢🤢🤢

These fans will never believe anything if it doesn't feed into their narrative. Now they're claiming Liam's parents didn't write that, but if Liam's parents had released a video saying that where we literally see the words come from their mouths, the fans would've said "it's a script. They've been forced to say that". His family can't win. Those deluded fans will always feed into the conspiracy element

It is a shame though because not all fans will be like that. Some have been very respectful (eg the fans outside the hotel who tried to protect Liam's dad from the paps)

I wish they hadn’t done that interview. It can’t be easy for his family and friends to read what a mess he was in. It’s all so sad and could have been so avoidable.
It's a fucking police interview...you think they shouldn't have spoken to the police???

Imagine getting a text telling you your brother had died. A gentle phone call would be far better. I do remember the news coming out really fast and it doesn’t surprise me his family found out from social media.
Telling someone their relative has passed is so hard. My nana died when I was 14. My grandad took the call, and he fell apart so not only did I have to talk to the hospital (would never be allowed now) who explained everything, I also then had to phone my dad (her son) and other relatives while consoling my grandad and wee sister who was there too. Grief does weird stuff to you as I went on autopilot doing the usual...if you are busy then you don't have time to think thing and looked after my parents, little sister and others and helped with arrangements...going with my dad to get the certificate, filing it and helping with arrangements for the funeral. It was about a week or so later when my aunt's boyfriend sat me down and asked how I was doing that I finally broke.

It's something I hope to God I will never have to go through again so in a way I can understand why some would text because no one wants to give that kind of news but a phone call is more personal than a text and the better thing to do if possible.

Total madness. When you strip away all the bells and whistles of fame, a young man died after several years of suffering horrible mental health issues. Those mental health issues almost certainly affected everyone around him. It's not unreasonable to think that despite loving him dearly, those people need to take a beat to come to terms with what's happened and how they feel about it. The pissing contest about whether or not a statement was heartfelt, or whether tours should have been cancelled, or if Harry is a disrespectful douche for running a marathon is a bit gross.

They all seem to forget that if these lads had met in an office, they'd start running out of management sympathy after a week. There's millions of pounds at stake with what the members of 1D do, I find it baffling that they just think they can go 'nah, I think I fancy stopping for a bit while I figure this out'.

Sorry if this is too dark but man it must feel weird for the other guys in the band to look at the tributes knowing that this will be how they'll be remembered once they're gone as well
I think it's a bit morbid but if they live long and happy lives I don't think their passings will be as full on as Liam's has been. Take the Beatles for example, John Lennons death arguably takes over George Harrisons simply because he was still relatively younger and his death was clearly more shocking and tragic, much like Liams

Yeah, the focus was heavily on Cheryl being the rock and organising everything as if she was his wife when reality was, Kate and him were together for longer and more recent. He clearly loved her if he wrote a goal for 2025 was to get engaged.

Obviously because of Bear, Cheryl was involved and was in contact with his family most likely because Liam was supervised with Bear but I don’t know, at the time I felt sad for Kate. People were acting like Cheryl’s world is destroyed by losing the love of her like and while it is, it’s for Bear, not for her.

I think of my uncle who passed quite young and had a similar personal situation with ex wife with his son and a new girlfriend. His girlfriend organised a lot with the whole family and his ex wife came as support for his son. We didn’t erase the fact that he loved his girlfriend, probably actually more that he did his wife. Haha.
Yeah I felt like she didn't get her "place" at the funeral so to speak like they were together for a good couple of years, lived together etc. They were definitely partners and not just a fling so I do wonder what the reason was for that. Even if it was something to do with Bear like not confusing or upsetting him anymore by having kate being a larger presence at the funeral but I think she still could have been in the main family group. Although maybe it was even Kate herself that decided to be with friends that she perhaps knew better

Liam's death is clearly going to be one of those celebrity death conspiracy theories, much like those of Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, and Princess Diana, amongst others. Despite all the evidence pointing to the facts, the stans will continue to insist he was murdered.
I just don’t get why? It’s obvious without footage and toxicology reports. He dropped his bag to the floor below, but his man bag on and hat in the space of minutes after being put into the room. It’s been clear he fell climbing down, he also landed on his back not his front so no one pushed him. it’s so silly

Is it really so bizarre for someone to say solely nice things about their recently deceased partner?

If she wants to remember him as loving and kind, then that's down to her.
It's really not, not to mention that she'd be eviscerated for slagging him off anyway. People keep going on about her being a 1D fan before she met him; when I was a teenager daydreaming about a life with my celebrity crushes, absolutely none of them ended with finding out they'd gone on a drug binge that ended in their death, hired sex workers a couple of hours after I'd left or that they'd spent the entire relationship sending people explicit images of their ex.

She got her dream guy. It's unlikely that she got the fairytale to go with him. If she wants to hang onto that for a while, I'm not going to call her for it. She has plenty of time for reality to catch up to her, and it's going to. I'm struggling to find anyone in this mess who isn't a victim of some sort, and yes that does include Liam.

Yeah; especially since Liam’s tributes are all very 1D-focused. 🫣 Then again, no one apart from Harry has had much commercial success post that (comparatively speaking, obv!).

Pretty harmless fluff piece isn't it.

Most horrifying thing so far is that she wanted one of those creepy 1D dolls 🤣
I'm sure plenty of people liked them, but for me dolls=creepy 🤣

I think we've had a balanced discussion around her so far, which has of course changed and evolved as she's been spotted, released posts and now the interview.

If anyone is looking for a bit more positivity around her,I'd say it's commendable she's kept Nala, especially as she was a rescue dog originally.

She's also chosen some fab outfits when out and about with Liam, especially some of her boots 😍 (I do love a good pair of boots!)
I do hope she stops whatever it is she's doing to her face though, she's so young and naturally pretty. It's a shame seeing these girls ruining their looks to try and fit in with what society says they need to be like to be pretty

I think their reaction just proves what a lot of us on this thread thought: it was never about getting "justice" for Liam and everything to do with some sort of weird attention-seeking virtue signalling: "Aren't we great? We're never giving up on him, even if his family have". No, you're twats. Just STFU!
There's so many more non-intrusive, productive things they could do to prove their love for, and loyalty towards, Liam, whilst simultaneously supporting and respecting his family wishes, yet this is the hill they choose to die on. They're giving all his fans a bad name.

Total madness. When you strip away all the bells and whistles of fame, a young man died after several years of suffering horrible mental health issues. Those comments annoyed me more than they should have. They constantly talk about how bullied Liam was, then do the same to the other lads. It's so hypocritical.
And they never see the bigger picture. A lot of people find training for, and eventually running, a marathon therapeutic. Maybe Harry felt/feels the same. Maybe he was quietly raising money for charity. Maybe Liam's death was a wake up call and he's now doing everything he's always wanted to do whilst he can. But none of that matters to them, he's just selfish. It's insane.

This is the type of non-invasive activity the fans should be putting their energy into, not the "Justice for Liam"/de-closeting Larry stuff. It's somewhere the fans can go to pay their respects and leave messages for Liam's family, whilst respecting everyone's privacy.

In case IG is messing up: it's a reel showing a memorial bench dedicated to Liam in a cemetery in Buenos Aires. Fans can leave messages for Liam's family in a postbox next to the bench.

Why do these young women mess with their faces? Kate Cassidy is a very attractive woman, and she really doesn't need any cosmetic tweaks. I don't understand why Liam had work done either, he was a handsome man, with lovely eyes.
They're so young as well, their faces are always changing and haven't had a chance to even form a proper wrinkle yet and they're filling their faces with crap. It's sad the pressure they must all be under to be absolutely perfect.
I always remember how shocked I was at the friends reunion, lisa kudrow was the only one that looked her age and in my opinion, she looked the best too! It's sad as they were all beautiful.

I think there was a deliberate attempt by Roger and whoever else at the time to isolate Liam from his family and even his son. he obviously had a phone but I’m guessing his parents were told he didn’t have one for his “mental health”The Florida moved seemed completely odd given that Liam had said he loved taking Bear to school and did seem orchestrated by Kate who posted a video saying how happy she was to be back in America and hated living in rainy London. I don’t think much thought went into Liam being away from his family and bear because he was genuinely mentally ill during that time.
