I really think Kate Cassidy needs to get a proper paying job, and stop manufacturing articles about her relationship with Liam to make some money. Let him rest in peace, and let those of us who loved him, remember him fondly. Revisiting his dark days and tragic death isn't helping anyone and it's disrespectful to both Liam and his family.

I’m surprised to see Maya participated. Her statement sounds actually quite heartfelt, she obviously very much struggled with the fact that he couldn’t stay sober.

I don’t doubt that she went through some horrific times with him, but for me one thing that niggles, is that I saw clips of where she was actively enjoying the fans turning on him and I found that hard to watch.
I may be looking at it from a different perspective, as I have been an absolute horror when in alcohol addiction (granted I never chased anyone with an axe or threw them down stairs) but those moments when you sober up and either remember, or are told how you’ve hurt those you love, are truly awful and come with the kind of anxiety I wouldn’t wish on anyone. And ironically the only way to quieten that anxiety is to drink again.

I’m NOT excusing his behaviour or saying addicts should get off Scot free because they’re struggling, that’s not what I’m saying at all. But in this Rolling Stones article, in her statement she does actually genuinely sound like she loved and hoped for him to get better (even after them splitting), and I just find it difficult to correlate that version with the one I saw clips of, revealing the stuff about zayn and sort of mocking Liam and some of the fans turning on him.

To preface, i absolutely hear your point of view as someone who was in the position of the addict and I can’t imagine how awful that must’ve been to experience - I hope you’re in a better place. I’m going to come from the point of someone that experienced domestic violence as a result of drug abuse, I just wanted to say hope this doesn’t read as an attack towards you because it’s not x

My ex was a ray of sunshine to everyone that knew him, everyone loved him, no one ever had a bad word to say about him, he was everyone’s favourite person. Whilst that relationship ended a few years ago now, I still hope that they are able to get better and I loved them deeply, but even to this day there are times it still kills me that the version of him I knew is not the version everyone else saw, and that none of our mutual friends except one believed me. With Liam being adored by a large portion of people who believe he can do no wrong, I can absolutely understand why Maya might have wanted to public tear him down and out him. I can’t put into words how hard it is to deal with having to see and hear how great someone who was so abusive to you is and at the time of my relationship ending, it honestly took all of my willpower not to blast him on social media and beg people to understand what he was really like.

This is not to say I think Maya handled it the best, or that it excuses all of the bullying Liam faced, but that I do understand why she did it.

I saw a video on Instagram of a man leaving Zayn's concert with Zayn and people were saying that the man looked like Liam so it's possible that Liam faked his own death to escape fame and the media and that Zayn is "protecting him" by taking him on tour with him. As a long time One Direction fan I actually think all these conspiracies are so wrong and I really hope Liam's family are not seeing all this. It's ok to be sad over Liam's death and wish things were different, as I do, but the conspiracies really need to stop as they don't help anyone and dragging Zayn, Harry, Louis and Niall into these conspiracies as well is going too far.

Yep, if he was going to fake his own death to escape fame and the media, the most practical thing to do would be to go on tour with his most controversial band mate. So under the radar, so discrete, so secretive. Also, how lovely of him to traumatise his child as he does it.

Honestly, some of these people are so far past giving their head a wobble it's not funny.

I was very touched by Ruth’s post, it was a brilliant mix of genuine love and loss and a f*ck you to anyone that’s tried to sell a story or profit off Liam’s death.

I really hope she can find some peace one day, as with all the Payne family.

Kate needs to shut up now and stop this weird press tour she's been doing following Liam's death. I had a lot of sympathy for her, but it's clear now that she had zero direction/drive in her life other than living off Liams money & now needs to make her own $.

It's obvious his family are still in immense pain and wouldn't want her speaking out about every detail that happened around the time he died.

It's creepy & weird how she is rewriting their history almost to sell the heartbroken, forever in love damsel in distress to further her influencer career. Their story was nothing like she described. It was not some fairytale romance, he harassed his ex Maya for years, even while he was with Kate, to the point where she had to seek legal action to get it to stop. As soon as Kate left Argentina he hired hookers to sleep with... sounds charming.

Cheryl's statement said "Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last." and Kate is out here doing high-profile podcasts discussing anything she can to paint herself as a victim. I don't think she ever even met his family, I feel sorry for them having to endure all of her crying and attention-seeking for media attention and money when they've lost the person they loved before the fame and money.

I don't doubt she's sad about him dying, but I also think she glossed over huge red flags, troubling behaviour and drug use to stay in a cushty life where he paid for things. End of the day she was a waitress plucked out by him, the power imbalance was always there.

The journalist described her as very sweet, nervous and image conscious and scared of saying the wrong thing and upsetting anyone.

Yeah I think it’s clear it’s a very calculated interview and tbh, the right questions weren’t answered and I don’t buy half of what she said.

She doesn’t have to give them a penny. If he did want that, he would have written a will. He even stated himself that everything would go to Bear. Cheryl is well off enough to provide for Bear without Liam’s money anyway. I’m sure his family have already been looked after financially.

I think Liam was probably a bit too chaotic to even think about a will, and I don't mean that in an unkind way, it just is what it is. It's quite shocking to me that he got that far into his career without someone sitting him down and making him do it, but here we are.

For Liam’s family’s sake, I wish those texts hadn’t been made public. I know they went some way towards describing his state of mind at the time of his death, but it’s so undignified. He was making daft and dangerous decisions because of his addictions.
I’m not absolving him of blame, he was a bad boyfriend, but he was also extremely unwell mentally.

I feel a bit icky even talking about this because it was Liam’s own business…but if he had questions about his sexuality I think it’s so sad that he couldn’t explore that in a safe way or even be open about it. That part of the fan base that fetishised them and obsessed about their sexuality did so much damage. It gave them no space to be anything other than heterosexual because of how crazy the fans were.

Why is faking a death the go-to response when a celebrity dies? OK, they could potentially come back one day. But in the meantime, they're inflicting pain on their fans [and possibly family/friends]. Witness protection aside, that's not ok. If I had been a fan, I'd be furious and it would put me off that person forever. It makes no sense.

In terms of Liam, let's take a minute and go along with the delusion that he faked his own death. If he hadn't told his family he was going to do it, that's disgusting and everyone should condemn him for putting his family through that. If he did tell them and his funeral was fake, his mum deserves an Oscar for her portrayal of the grieving mother.
It's a lot of effort to go to to step out of the limelight when he could have just asked Zayn or Harry how they go off-grid.

His mums heartbreak alone should be all the proof anyone would ever need ay. Plus the fact that unfortunately so many people actually saw the photograph of his body. I also don't think a minister would conduct a funeral for a fake death lol that must be some kind of sin for them right there

I'm not going to argue with the rest of your post, but this is very possible, if not probable. I've made it very clear that I don't believe the second tox report and I stand by that - I believe that Liam thought he was taking coke/smoking crack (which he was used to, and understood the effects of) but was actually snorting/smoking pink cocaine, which is very different. I think it's entirely possible that he went from his 'normal' buzz to completely fucked up in a very short space of time.

This is why I believe that whoever supplied the drugs in the first place needs to have a fun vacation in a South American prison, but nobody else needs to be dragged into it. Roger was used to Liam being drunk or high but he had no way to know that the next thing he was going to do was go upstairs and put coke, MDMA, ketamine and benadryl in a pipe and sadly, nor did Liam. It's tragic, awful and I wish it didn't happen but it did. If you want to be angry, be angry at whoever decided to basically sweep up the floor at a drug den and sell it to vulnerable people.

The smitten star delayed his flight back to London, and the couple checked into a hotel for the next 48 hours.

A week after Liam’s death, Kate shared a note he left her online.

It detailed their fascination with angel numbers and manifestation — an ideology popular on TikTok but dating back to the Pythagoreans in the sixth century BC.
The number 444 is said to signify love and guidance.
Liam’s message read: “Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.”
Four was the couple’s angel number — and Kate has four tattoos in tribute to Liam, including the number four on the same finger Liam had his.
It means she has a permanent reminder of the man she loved, along with all the pictures — and the memories.

Kate said: “It’s so hard to pick a favourite memory but I like going back to our Northern Lights trip, which is a trip we genuinely used to speak about after every single day. We behaved just like kids, running around, laughing and sledding.
“We were so in love. Liam showed me this fairytale and the world, and I showed him this kind of sense of normality in life.”

Liam seemed to move about a lot though. When he was together with Cheryl he was living in the huge mansion on Heath House Road in Surrey. Then after breaking up in 2018 he was living somewhere in Mayfair round Dunraven Street. There’s a clip of him leaving his house singing his song Polaroid and then he gets straight into an uber that’s playing it on the radio. He was so happy about that! For most of 2020 he was in a duplex in Pearson Square and towards the end of that year was in Chalfont St Giles. Then of course in late 2024 he was in Florida.

Honestly, I would be so disoriented with this kind of lifestyle. Never being in any house long enough to feel settled and like it’s your actual home.

If Deux Moi is to be believed, Harry is supposed to be in Rome at the moment and is either looking into or has bought a house there. Of course, it could just be fans taking the piss again and her falling for it like she usually does.

I went on holiday to Lake Como and was told that Harry has a lakeside villa there, along with Elton John and George Clooney.

I hope he's finally at peace now, and he didn't deserve his fate, nor did his loved ones.

This is our time I guess, with everything going on politically, culturally, socially.

I know we can't change the world, but what he's taught me is what I should have maybe known all along, check in with those close to you, if you're that worried go one further and check in with those potentially even closer them.

I think it’s just reminded me that humans are not designed to be “famous”, and that people share themselves at great personal cost.

I’m not sure that anything could have saved Liam, sadly — even with all the check ins in the world. I truly think we have to build a world where people see value beyond being famous. Because too many people still think it’s all glamour. There is absolutely no way I would ever want my child to be famous.

If you don't have a Will as in this case the estate passes under the intestate rules to his son Bear.

As Bear is not 18 he cannot apply for Letters of Administrstion. Cheryl is allowed as Bears legal guardian/person with parental responsibility to obtain the Letters of Administration to Liam's estate. The funds will be held on trust for Bear and he will inheritance absolutely on his 18th Birthday.

Liam appointed no-one to administer his estate, Cheryl had the legal right to apply.
