How frustrating to watch the videos and have my comments censored/deleted by sweet Kylie!

There are three of us who watch, are horrified and laugh in disbelief, including our teenage daughter who is 100% Italian. We’re an international family living in Italy.

How nice it must be for Kylie to traipse through the sunflowers and dance with toilet brushes and Guido to ride a white horse, knowing that Italy is beautiful but broken. Or should I say broken, but beautiful, because I always come back and now am living here, with my new family.

We have a lot of fun comparing her depiction with the reality of our daily living in Italy.

We have a lot of fun in this forum too, created by @emm All dissenters are bullied off K’s YouTube so we have found a much more satisfactory place here to discuss at will whatever any of us feels like regarding Italy or Kylie or anything else that takes our fancy and goes down another interesting byway

I'm watching her peru vlogs, "making places easy to get to attracts the wrong kind of people" and criticising people visiting machu picchu for being "more interested in taking selfies"... I have no words, is her biting her lips and filming her midriff in cooking videos for no reason better than a selfie?

Oh definitely! I wasn’t referring to the slow pan video of the oven and fridge only that I had never seen her as an influencer because so few people followed her (for ages) and so far she hasn’t managed to sell anything other than her own image. But why not kitchen appliances

I’m sure K would sell anything if she could! However, the term ‘influencer’ is loathsome, despite being ubiquitous, and yet deeply inaccurate to describe what the practitioners actually do

This seals the deal for me as to whether she is just naive or a poser and faker. She is as authentic in an Italian kitchen as she is as a “rapper” in the hood. A chameleon who takes on the colours of whatever environment she finds herself in.

I saw a video the other day that shows how much Utubers get paid. Someone with 100K subscribers gets about $400/day less 55% commission for Utube = about $200 a day. Kylie has 200K subscribers so presumably makes $400 a day after commission.

The veracity of the content is apparently irrelevant, just a matter of hits and subscribers. Even “dislikes” may add to her income.

Not bad for someone who includes “drone operator” as part of her skill set. I’m sure she’s learned that the talents of biting her lip into the camera, flashing a continuous smile and swaying her hips while mixing bread dough in a bowl are much more profitable !

So sad and so funny.

I see Guido is now getting in on the grifting. He has Kylie acting as his real estate agent, renting his chicken coop for romantic stays and enticing would be restaurateurs to rent his kitchen/event space for €2000/month in an out of the way location, during a pandemic when travel is restricted and restaurants closed. One of her fawning followers, ready to take up the offer, wrote to ask if any experience is needed !

Now we have the wedding show to fill production time and to appeal to all those interested in dresses, planning, dinner preparation, flowers, etc. The only problem is, Kylie admitted that they cannot legally marry, due to missing documents, but the show must go on !

While I don’t see any rapport between them and all they talk about is business(until recently) with both of them taking turns talking over and ignoring the other(I particularly like when Kylie is waiting to talk, Guido rambles on and she repeatedly blinks her eyes in frustration, as if to say This is MY video!), her followers obviously do !

It’s entertaining for sure, but not in the way she intended; I just wonder how many followers are taking her advice and are making plans to live the dream in Italy, where, with the fantasy she presents for preparation, they will find a nightmare.

This is where I have a problem with her and how she trades misinformation into likes and transacts her self absorbed narcissism into a false reality for unsuspecting followers. She should know better and I’m sure she does.

It’s a show.

Hello @Jerry, this is exactly what brought me to here. I only hope that her subs aren't that silly or naive to buy into what is such a potentially financially catastrophic dream. It could ruin someone if they invested in this.

This is definitely Cosimo, her landlord. From the videos and shots of the courtyard where she parked her bike amd also shots of waving to her sister in an apt across from hers , it is def Le Stanze della Contessa on Via Maggio near Santo Spirito square. I can't find her apt listed, which either it is currently rented or an apt of his he doesn't advertise. (There is also a website)

I get the impression that a lot of her fans are people who are going though some kind of difficulties tbh, maybe don't really have friends/family, things like that Austrian woman sending her all that stuff, it kind of seems like she doesn't have family/friends to give it to
