Hi, I’m jumping on here. I’ve been following KF’s channel for 2 years and found it questionable. I am surprised that someone can fall in love so often as it has happened rarely to me. I don't get this 'symbolic marriage. Why don't they wait until it can be formalised?

When she announced her engagement, I read a post from one of her subs which was quickly deleted. I suspect the OP self-edited, it was pitiful, although she was happy for Kylie it was clear she had strongly identified with her and, realising K. was marrying into a landed noble family, felt that K was out of her league and these films of achieving dreams were delusive for the majority. It wasn't critical, just bereft. OP’s tone was as though she’d lost her best friend. Does that make sense?

On the comment section of last weekend’s YT episode, there’s an interesting post by Mica.

If the Provence house belongs to her family it is very substantial. On IG you have to dig deep but there’s a photo of her with her father, with the quote: ‘my heart belongs to daddy’.
The house in Provence was a monthly holiday rental for her parents to visit her and her sister. The parents live in Byron Bay and she says they are not wealthy.

Thanks! @Appleblossom. Really interesting comment indeed. Also worded so respectfully, I do wonder if it will be deleted. Kylie might find herself backed into a corner now.
Agree @Appleblossom @Denise0211 Thanks for posting the Mica comment, it is well written and fair. But Kylie’s reactions to anything that isn’t fawning and flattering is very aggressive. She bullies anyone that questions any of her “work” or her way of doing things. Other friends have noticed by always “naming and shaming” she has tried to shut down any questions about herself, her past or her motives. Many of the laughably OT complements saying how incredible, marvellous, talented etc etc she is on her Insta are manufactured.

No doubt she buys some of the comments along with the followers and likes, You Tube views and subscribers....As I mentioned before, this is what her Patreon subscribers are paying for. The cost of her videos are negligible, except for her time (camera, computer equipment has long been bought) and since her main interest is looking at herself she must really enjoy the hours she claims she puts into editing...

Hi everyone, so glad to see this forum. Kylie has crossed paths with my group of friends and colleagues in Rome too. What I object to is not only that she is completely false, her real personality is completely different to the one she portrays on Youtube and social media, but the picture she paints of Italy too. In real life, she is a rough 'grifter' (someone else used this word and it is exactly right!) and user that would step on anyone to achieve her goals. The fake accent and pretense of being a kind, nice person is all an act. In Rome, you would always see her on own and certainly never with girl friends. She had a really bad reputation among work colleagues and friends. It is hilarious that her followers leap to her defense when anyone calls her out.

I am an Italian and the Rome and Southern Italy she portrayed (and now Tuscany) is just totally fake. We are suffering incredibly from the effects of Covid 19 and our country never recovered from economic recession. Rome is an incredibly difficult place to live with an enormous problem with corruption and it is extremely hard for Italians to find good jobs (that are actually paid) let alone foreigners.

When other Italians comment that her posts about Italy are just lies, Kylie says they are bitter and jealous of her. But she is creating a totally wrong impression of Italy that makes it seems that her followers can just leave their homes and jobs and find a fantastic life in Italy. It is a dangerous picture because many foreigners come here expecting to find this fake "dream" of Italy and end up losing their savings and a lot more trying to survive here and then have to leave and go back to their own country in a few months.

The truth is Kylie could never find a "proper" job to support herself in Italy and it is only through men and her recent poor, deluded Patreon supporters that she has been able to hang around Italy for the past 15+ years. Now she has finally found her golden ticket in Guido. If he was an ordinary accountant that had no money and property, she would not be with him.

Ciao, Alessandro - Italy is a beautiful, amazing, country and culturally rich with a fantastic culinary tradition too. However, the economy is not flourishing. I think it would be a wonderful country to retire to if one had sufficient savings and an income stream from pensions and investments to survive, could obtain a visa and speak the language but it's obvious to some that the dreams being presented in the videos are seductive but unrealistic. That said, I am European, not American, and I wonder if many of these patrons have visited Italy apart from maybe occasional fleeting visits and watching 'Under the Tuscan Sun'. 🙄 I don't know about the viability of the business proposition on Guido's family estate. It seems pretty remote and would I be correct in thinking that business might be seasonal at best?

Its amazing how people are working out that Kylie is not what she seems at all! She has created a new persona that copied another girl’s aesthetic, look and philosophy. I knew her when she lived in Positano. She is nothing like the person she has created in her videos. She’s cold, heartless and quite unpleasant. She has all of the unprincipled traits of a narcissist. If you can’t help her you are of no interest. Kylie’s aim was and is money and fame at any cost. She would be with any guy, regardless of whether she liked him or not, if he was rich and could further her ’career’.

Ciao @PlinyinTorquay, Italy is beautiful but it is now an extremely poor country (yet expensive to live in!) and a very difficult place to live if you don't have an independent income. Also the public services like hospitals and schools are often in a terrible state because so much of the public funds are stolen due to the endemic corruption of the Italian state. Yes renting is seasonal but obviously has been decimated by the pandemic. However, Guido's family not only have the more remote farm where Kylie is playing at being mistress of the villa, but they actually have their main property just outside Florence where she was living in an apartment with Guido. Here the family have a number of holiday villas they already let out and that have been successful as people can be in the centre of town in ten or fifteen minutes.

So is the Villa rental that is being proposed as a potential business venture in the video on 9.iv.21 - which is or was a restaurant, and is crammed with vintage furniture near to the centre of Florence or in the more remote location?

Did anyone see the awful ’Love Parallel’ video that Kylie made starring herself and a guy she was having an affair with that she wanted to sell as a series to Netflix? Another project that failed and never got off the ground. It seems to have been taken off her YouTube now. She’s a really bad actress but some of the drone shots of Rome can hardly help being being dramatic.🙄

Yeah, that "movie" was so cringe. I thought the topic was ridiculous and can't imagine people being that interested. The draw would be Rome, mainly. The acting overall was awful, too. Her problem with having to star in everything is likely not helping her film aspirations.

Antonio, I'm going off-topic here but I love the shots of Rome in La Grande Bellezza!
One of my favourite films @PlinyinTorquay! Really captured the social life in the palazzi of Rome. Very evocative scenes in the city. Loved it!

This is interesting. I wonder why she refuses recorded interviews? Here she confirms having a Greek passport after many years of visas. The first half is full of her self congratulation and evident perception of real world every day work situations as being terrible to her. How dare anyone critique her work! Lol. Very few people understand her, you know.

@Denise0211 She doesn’t do recorded interviews because she can’t control how she comes across and use that filter she puts on all of her videos that makes her look weird but gets rid of wrinkles etc

“I have a degree in journalism and I had worked as an award-winning magazine editor and publisher before moving to Italy and yet I couldn’t make a living pitching to publications around the world with content on Italy...” This is just not true - Kylie has won no awards for her work as a journalist or filmmaker...Nor do a lot people believe she even did a degree in journalism. As George Costanza said: “It’s not a lie if you believe it.”

Hi there,
I'm new here.
I just found it.
This comment sums it up. I was shocked as well, when she said she was considering to shut her YouTube channel over a few people out here. There's no reason to be so insecure when you have thousands of subscribers & dedicated Patrons. We all know she would never shut her channel given that it is her primary source of income (atleast it appears to be) & that sharing stories in a cinematic manner is her hardcore passion.

Also, I'm quite curious about 2 things:
How can it be that this woman is so talented, plus she works long insane hours; yet she is not working as a professional cinematographer for Films or Travel channels, etc. Surely over 5 years, her work can't possibly go unnoticed.
The Rouje dresses intrigue me a lot. She does have a great sense of style that definitely is not something off the streets or thrift stores.

Her beautiful life & amazing dresses are not what bother me .

But this dream, that she encourages or this life that she promotes, is it realistically possible for a student who's moving to Italy or a middle class person ? It can be grossly misleading at times.

Not to say she owes her viewers absolute financial transparency, no. But, atleast the running costs of leading the life that she does. Given that her viewers are from all over the world. The basic living standards of say Brazil or India certainly do not match that of any European country.

Hi @emm were you writing to me? I work in film and television in Rome and Kylie also wanted me to help her (for free) on some projects apart from the peculiar interview she did with my girlfriend. I’m afraid the coy and flirtatious behaviour and the fact that she thinks she knows more than people that work professionally in film made it impossible to offer her any help.😬

Did anyone see the 3 pt comment telling Kylie about her family problems with her daughter? Or one suggesting she invite 2 lucky viewers (in Italy) to her wedding to symbolize all of her fans? Lol. Her fans really are OTT. An Italian kind of made fun of the multiple "will you film your wedding kylieee???" questions. Lol

for free! the cheek of this when she herself complains about doing things for free! unsurprisingly she cannot find anyone to work with her 🙄

I honestly feel sorry for these types of fans of hers, I feel like they must be people who don't have friends etc so see her somehow as a friend. it is very sad really

No didn’t see this😅 We work with clients that say they use social media companies to create fake comments on IG and YouTube so it seems they have a lot of “engagement”. How many of all of these ludicrous complements about wonderful she is are self-generated rather than real???

And now I've got started -her whole love affair with Italy Is for 'its culture & history bla bla' BUT have you ever, ever heard her say anything at all about the history or art or the various neighbourhoods of Rome or Florence, or any of the buildings or the people? No interest whatsoever, not even a word about the Medicis en passant. Her only passions are films plus podcasts on mindfulness & cooking, other than herself of course.
This is so true @spiritofplace she never seems to have any interest in (or knowledge of) architecture, art, culture or literature. Always wondered why she is even in Italy except that she gets a lot of male attention. Wonder if Guido knows about her femme fatale past😳

So with some restrictions easing at the end of this month, what type of content would you like from Kylie?
Although with the work on the chicken coop and restoring I imagine that is pretty much what we will see until they move there.
I don't mind seeing her cook if she focuses on that with anecdotes, instead of dancing and hip thrusting. And perhaps not being passive aggressive ,snobby or ignorant about other methods (In some ragú video she acted repulsed by the carne macinata/ground meat version....which is the traditional Bolognese ragú, and acted as if the whole meat version she did was some secret and "superior." No. She made a half-arsed Neapolitan version.)
I wish she would later film more in Florence, or maybe show the coastline. Anything but total countryside and playing housewife.
